Operation Rah-e-Nijaat, 8 Militants killed, At least 8 militants were
killed when security forces bombed their hideouts in different areas of South Waziristan. According to official sources, eight militants were killed and five others injured in the bombing and shelling of gunship helicopters in Makeen, Saloshti, Mami Karama and Kanigaram. Many hideouts were also destroyed in the bombardment. Security forces are advancing towards Mami Karama and Kanigaram from Saloshti. Security forces are facing stiff resistance at Mami Karama. On the other hand, security forces also moving towards Sararoga from Kotki.

Peshawar Blast Toll Rises to 70
DCO Peshawar Sahibzada Anis has confirmed 70 deaths in the terrorist attack, adding that about 150 people were injured in the incident.
Shafqat Hussain AIG Police said about 150 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack.
The blast damaged more than 300 shops in four buildings, while that 70 to 80 stores and a building of the mosque were razed to the ground, witnesses said. Several people are said to still be trapped under the rubble of buildings and rescue teams are tryng to recover the wounded and the bodies from the rubble.
The authorities have declared emergency in hospitals. Some people were taken to 80injured Lady Reading and other hospitals in the city. Lady Reading Hospital officials have appealed the people to donate blood for those wounded in the attack.
Police sources said a car bomb was detonated by remote control.
Firefighters have controlled the blaze, which erupted when the bomb exploded in the area Peepal Mandi.

Polling For SCBA Election Starts, Voting for the Bar of the Supreme Court (SCBA) has begun. At least 2009 lawyers exercised their right to vote nationwide.
Barrister Bacha Khan of NWFP and Qazi Anwar oppose the SCBA president, while more than 40 candidates will compete for other jobs.
Returning Officer SA Rehman while talking to Dunya News said that 9 of the polling stations were set up in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Multan, Sukkur, Bahawalpur and Abbotabad. Balloting will continue until 5pm.
