FIA man house bombed in Quetta; DIK’s girls school blown up

QUETTA: Residence of a senior official of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was bombed in the city overnight; however, no fatalities were reported. Meantime, a girls school was blown up by the terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan, TrendPK reported Friday morning.
The FIA director Akbar Baloch’s house was attacked overnight with a hand grenade. The powerful blast sound was heard far and wide. The outer wall of the residence and vehicles parked inside were partially damaged.
The FIA director who is currently appointed in Karachi and his family remained safe in the attack. Police and bomb disposal squad arrived as soon as the report was received. Police began search for the miscreants who fled the scene after hurling the hand grenade.
Meantime, a girls model school located in Kotla Saidan area of Dera Ismail Khan was destroyed with explosives. Earlier, terrorists manhandled the security guard and bound him down with ropes. Leaving explosives in a room of the school, they went away.
The loud bang turned school into heap of debris. The security guard said he was attacked by three saboteurs who tied him after torture.
Heavy contingent of police arrived as soon as the report was received and putting security cordon around the area, kick-started the investigations. TrendPK

ORAKZAI AGENCY: Security forces carried out gunship helicopters’ shelling in different areas of Orakzai Agency where at least 27 terrorists have been killed, Trend Pk reported Saturday.
Sources told the hideouts of the terrorists were targeted in Hindara and areas of upper Orakzai Agency. Sources said that 10 other terrorists were also wounded in the shelling while three positions of terrorists were destroyed. Trend Pk

ORAKZAI AGENCY: The gunship helicopters carried out shelling in different areas of Orakzai Agency on Monday, killing at least 12 terrorists while 13 others were injured.
The positions of the terrorists in Gowak, Hindara and Atman Khel were targeted in lower Orakzai Agency.

Airstrikes kill 12 militants in Orakzai
At least 12 militants were killed and 8 others got injured in the shelling of gunship helicopters in different areas of Orakzai Agency, Dunya News reported on Saturday.
According to security sources, gunship helicopters pounded Khadizai, Sawarokot and Kotkali due to which 4 hideouts of militants were destroyed. Security forces have started search operation in Gondikali and Malapatti.
Orakzai Agency: 6 FC men killed in bomb blast
As many as six Frontier Corps personnel have been killed in a roadside bomb blast in Orakzai Agency on Friday, security officials said.
The two officials said the blast hit the FC’s vehicle in the Yakh Kandao area of Orakzai.
Forces have launched a search operation in the area.Orakzai has been the focus of a Pakistani military offensive against the Taliban.

ORAKZAI AGENCY: Seven militants and a solider were killed in fresh clashes in Orakzai Agency on Tuesday.
According to sources, militants carrying heavy machine guns stormed a security checkpost located in Dabori area of Orakzai Agency, killing one soldier, Amjad.

PESHAWAR: The Corps Commander (CC) of Peshawar, Asif Yasin Malik, has said that the terrorist attack in Kohat was not caused by a lapse in security, and women and children were not expected to be made targets.
Malik visited terrorist hit Kohat Police Line. Speaking to journalists, he said this time terrorists have targeted women and children instead of sensitive places, which indicates that they are losing their hearts.
Malik added that he is satisfied with the proceedings of intelligence agencies; there was information available that before Eid, terrorists will carry out these kinds of attacks.
“More than eighty percent of the Orakzai Agency has been cleared of terrorists, while the affected local have started to return to their areas of residence after this clearance,” the Peshawar Corps Commander added. SAMAA
Security forces action in Orakzai kills 14 militants
PARACHINAR: Security forces backed by jet fighters targeted two vehicles of militants in Orakzai Agency, killing 14 militants.
According to sources, the security forces with help of jet fighters pounded suspected hideouts of militants near Dogar area in Orakzai Agency.
Two militants’ vehicles were also targeted in the area in which 14 militants were killed including their key commander identified as Amjad Farooqui. Several other militants were also injured in the action.
The offensive against militants continues in the area where militants’ suspected hideouts and vehicles are being searched.
Forces kill 12 militants in Orakzai blitz
PESHAWAR: Security forces claimed killing at least 12 extremists while scores others sustained injures during fierce clashes occurred in Orakzai Agency on Sunday morning, Geo news reported citing security forces sources.
Security forces bombarded militants’ skirmishes in separate parts located in the heart of Orakzai Agency, resulting in killing 12 terrorists, injuring many more. Meanwhile, four hideouts were also completely annihilated during the action, sources told media.
A number of 1500 terrorists have been killed so far in clashes with security forces in Orakzai Agency and nearly 1900 hideouts have been destroyed including many training centers.
CM presses PM for withdrawal of IRSA decision
KARAHCI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has written a letter to Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, apprising him of the Sindhi people reservations over opening of Chashma Link Canal by Indus River System Authority (IRSA), aiming at release of additional 10,000 cusecs of water to Punjab province, Geo news reported Thursday night.
According to sources, CM Qaim Ali Shah, in his written complaint, has termed the decision of handing Punjab province additional 10,000 cusecs of water as injustice to the people of Sindh province.
He wrote that opening Chashma Link Canal will result in further augmenting ongoing water scarcity in Sindh, which will cost agriculture sector irreparable losses, sources said.
CM requested PM Gilani for withdrawal of IRSA decision at the earliest possible ease in order to avoid reaction from people in Sindh.
