KRC protests against killing, extortion in Lyrai
KARACHI: Hundreds of people under the banner of Kacchi Rabita Committee (KRC) blocked Mauripur road protesting against the killing of a man and extortion in the area Saturday.
The protests and sit-in has created traffic jam in various areas of the city. Women, children and aged people blocked the road since morning.
Imran was killed while seven others wounded last night in Moosa Line area of Lyari and area people and KRC blame Lyari’s gangsters are behind the crime.
Traffic accidents claim four lives in fog-hit Punjab
LAHORE: After a brief lull, dense fog has once again blanketed central Punjab, paralyzing normal life in Sialkot, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and other districts.
Four people were killed and 13 others wounded in separate traffic accidents in Punjab. In Gujranwala, two buses carrying school and college students collided with each other, killing one boy and injuring a dozen others.
Lahore Motorway was also closed to traffic due to low visibility.
In addition, Neelam Valley and other upper parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir started to receive the second spell of snowfall. AJK’s snowfall intensified the already freezing condition in the country’s largest province.

KARACHI: At least 21 people, including six policemen, were killed and scores of others wounded on Thursday when militants slammed their explosive-laden vehicle into the Crime Investigation Department (CID) building near Chief Minister (CM) House in Karachi.
Therik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to police and eyewitnesses, a group of militants opened fire, starting a gunbattle with police before detonating their explosive-landen truck.
Several nearby buildings were also damaged in the deadly bombing.
Trend Pk’s reporters on the scene saw dozens of motorcycles and vehicles destroyed; windowpanes of buildings were shattered up to two kilometers away.

According to reports, unknown miscreants set ablaze a mini bus, motorcycle and auto rickshaw in different parts of the country’s commercial capital.
In Baldia Town, unidentified gunmen shot dead a 38-year-old person and torched a mini bus.
In another attack, Tayyab ur Rehman of Landhi was killed.
An auto rickshaw and motor cycle were set on fire in Paposh, killing two persons.

DARA ADAM KHEL: At least 66 people including children martyred as a suicide bomber blew himself inside a mosque during Friday prayers.
More than 100 others wounded in the powerful explosion in which, according to the bomb disposable squad, 10 to 15 kilogram explosives were used.
Eyewitnesses told Trend Pk that the bomber entered the mosque at 2:15pm when the people were busy in their prayers. The District Coordination Officer (DCO) Kohat said that the mosque completely damaged in the blast. Several people buried under the debris.
The law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area soon after the suicide attack.
Several bodies and injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar.

KOHAT: At least 30 people were killed and scores of others wounded after a suicide bomber ripped through a crowded mosque in Darra Adam Khel on Friday.
The blast took place at a time when people were offering Friday prayers.
Confirming the suicide attack, Kohat’s commissioner said roof of the mosque has collapsed, leaving dozens of people stranded under the rubble.
The commissioner said that rescue efforts are under way to rescue the stranded people.
According to reports, a large number of people were present in the mosque at the time of the blast.
Law enforcement agencies reached the scene and cordoned off the area.

PAK PATAN: At least eight people have been martyred and 14 others wounded as explosion took place at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fareed on Monday morning.
The blast occurred immediately after Fajr prayer. The authorities closed the shrine for visitors soon after the explosion.
Four women were also included among those victims who lost their lives. One wall of shrine destroyed in the explosion.
According to the initial reports, two men left a motorcycle at the back door of the shrine and the explosion took place after six to seven minutes of their departure from the spot.
Eyewitnesses have informed that both of the suspected men were of 28 to 30 years old.

KARAK: At least one person has been killed and four others wounded when an explosion took place in a shop, SAMAA reported Monday.
According to police, the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder blast in a puncture shop situated in village Mandha Wah.
