Supreme Court Takes Notice: On Saturday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan, taking notice of government’s procrastination in removing the Director General of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered to set hearing of the case next week instead of March 15, 2011.
Earlier, it had been decided that the Supreme Court of Pakistan would hold the hearing of the case after March 15, according to the media sources.
Now the apex court will review next week the report presented by Secretary Establishment Division before the SC in connection with the DG FIA.

Raymond Davis Case: The Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) is ready to split with its US’ Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) because of frustration over what it calls heavy-handed pressure and its anger over what it believes is a covert US operation involving hundreds of contract spies, according to an internal document obtained by a US news agency, an influential Washington based paper reported. According to a statement drafted by the ISI for the media but never released, an already-fragile relationship between the two agencies collapsed following the shooting death of two Pakistanis by Raymond Davis, a US contracted spy.
“Post-incident conduct of the CIA has virtually put the partnership into question,” said the media statement drafted after the issue of American shooter become public. A copy of which was obtained this week by the said news agency.
“It is hard to predict if the relationship will ever reach the level at which it was prior to the Davis episode,” the statement said. “The onus of not stalling this relationship between the two agencies now squarely lies on the CIA.”

United States envoy to Pakistan Cameron Minter has telephoned PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif late Saturday and shared with him his feelings imbibed with utter grief and sorrow over Lahore incident wherein two Pakistani men were shot dead by a US consulate official and another man was trampled to death by a US consulate car, trendpk.Com reported.
During the telephonic conversation, US envoy urged Nawaz Sharif that Pakistani government should give US diplomat, Raymond Davis, under US custody because Davis possesses immunity under diplomatic relations being an employee of US consulate.
Declining US envoys demand, Nawaz Sharif replied that loss of three precious lives of Pakistani citizens had deeply hurt entire nation, adding that only court could come up with ultimate judgment on the issue.
I cant do anything as the matter is currently being heard in court, Nawaz concluded.
Earlier, Pakistan foreign office had said that US citizen Raymond Davis has no diplomatic immunity because he is not an official of US foreign office but he is a part of technical and administrative staff in the US embassy in Islamabad.

Standing Committee on Interior Affairs of National Assembly has taken the notice of 3 persons killing in Lahore by a US Consulate employee.
According to the details, the committee will summon the spokes person of US Consulate, Home department of Punjab, Ministry of Interior and members of deceased families. The Chairman of the Standing Committee Abdul Qadir Patail said that a transparent inquiry would be conducted of the incident.
On the other hand, Provincial Minister Rana Sanaullah said that case has been registered against Raymond under Article 302.

LAHORE, trendpk: PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif said the country is passing through a difficult phase and we all should take steps with wisdom.
Moreover, we are not supporting the present government but want that it should work for masses welfare during its tenure.
Nawaz said this the other day while talking to Daily Jang. He said everybody knows that government has performed poorly as people are facing inflation, power and gas loadsheddings and we are trying that the government performs better in its remaining tenure.
“We want to save the democratic system and when we follow traditions, we are accused of siding with the PPP, and media is also involved in it,” he added. Nawaz said in present time, elections or in-house change is a dangerous thing.
The government has been given 45 days deadline to implement PML-N’s 10-point agenda and we don’t follow the policy of buying time, he further added. Nawaz said he was not aware of US stance regarding the PML-N when he was put a question that it was not happy with him and his policies. He said we don’t want to come in power through the support of the US or army.
SC Summons Chief Secretaries in Reko Diq Case

ISLAMABAD, trendpk: The Supreme Court on Wedbesday summoned existing and former chief secretaries of Blaochistan in Reko Diq gold and copper mines case.
A four-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and comprising Justice Muhammad Sair Ali, Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday is hearing petitions against the leasing of the Reko Diq gold and copper mines in Balochistan.
The bench on Wednesday ordered the concerned parties to produce fundamental documents and the record of the contract before the court.
The bench on Tuesday accepted the miscellaneous application of 26 senators for becoming parties in the pending petitions against the leasing of the Reko Diq mines in Balochistan.
Senator Azam Khan Swati, along with Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, Dr Mohammad Ismail Buledi and others had pleaded to become party in the case.

Nabeel Gabol Withdraw His Resignation

Breaking News trendpk: Former State minister for ports and shipping and senior member of Pakistan Peoples Party, Nabeel Gabol, who resigned from his ministry on Wednesday, withdraw his resignation after his meeting with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani on Friday.
Prime Minister assured that the concerns raised by Nabeel Gabol would be addressed. Although the state minister had cited some ‘personal reasons’ for resignation, the sources said he had withdraws his resignation after getting a cold response from the party leadership over his concerns and reservations regarding the working of his ministry.
After Gabol’s resignation on Wednesday, the police conducted a raid on his residence in the port city of Karachi and rounded up his 11 guards and his name was also added in Exit Control List (ECL) on the order of federal ministry. Nabeel Gabol came into Islamabad early on the morning today. On Benazir Bhutto International Airport, talking to media he said that I have some reservations and I will discuss that with party leadership. He further said that resignation from ministry doesn’t means that he is leaving the party, PPP is my party and I am a worker of this party since 26 years.
After the resignation of Nabeel Gabol the news came in the media that President Asif Zardari wants to elect his son Balawal Bhutto from the Lyari Town seat in the next election. It is to be remembered that Nabeel Gabol has a hold on Lyari Town area and Lyari seat is considered as his permanent seat.
Dismissed Employees Attacked On KESC Office

Karachi, trendpk :- The dismissed employees of the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) attacked KESC office near Gizri area on Thursday. The angry protesters damaged the KESC head office, cars parked near the KESC head office and other public property. They blocked the road to the Fawara Chowk and demanded their immediate reinstatement.
KESC fired more than 4000 employees under voluntary separation scheme (VSS) on Wednesday. According to KESC resources, the administration has decided to shut non-management and non-technical departments in the company. These department included drivers, security guards, clerical staff, sentry workers and bill distributors among others.
After the attack on the KESC office, while speaking to a private channel, the spokesperson Ayesha Arabi said that after today’s incident, there was no room for negotiation. “Now, we would not even try and listen to what the union has to say.” She said that these employees were offered a golden handshake and the sacked employs were offered to take their retirement voluntarily however, but they declined it. Arabi further said that the whole situation had been created by the union, accusing them of trying to destroy the KESC’s property, of assaulting its employees and of trying to disrupt its operations.
