ISLAMABAD: The Incoming Chinese Ambassador Liu Jain called on Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani at General Headquarters Friday.

Army will remove terror menace: COAS
RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani reiterated that Pakistan army will continue efforts to remove the menace of terrorism from the country.
According to ISPR, 130th Corps Commanders’ Conference was held at General Headquarters on Friday. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani chaired the conference that was a part of regular monthly meetings.
According to ISPR press release issued here, COAS in his opening remarks expressed satisfaction over the progress of ongoing operation against terrorists in Fata. He regretted the loss of precious lives in the recent terrorist attacks. The participants took a comprehensive overview of the security situation and expressed satisfaction over operational readiness of the Army.
Kayani meets Karzai, Gen Stanely
RAWALPNDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, today visited Kabul on the invitation of General Stanely A. McChrystal, Commander International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.
He remained with Commander ISAF for sometime and discussed the matters of mutual interest.
The COAS also called on Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
PML-Q Vows to Oppose Restoration of ‘79 LBs
Lahore, Pakistan News: PML-Q chief and former chief minister Parvez Elahi vowed to oppose the bid to restore the ‘79 local bodies system.
Addressing the provinces’ nazims, naib nazims and tehsil nazims at Muslim League House, Lahore, Parvez noted that the province has become a defaulter of Rs80billion due to the misdeed of Sharif Brothers, and alleged them of curtailing the development funds to show their abhorrence for local bodies system.
Parvez said that the halting of uplift funds made the public suffer a lot and accused the Sharifs of making efforts to win over the nazims in the last two years. He alleged Shahbaz Sharif of bluff with Punjabites and urged him not to do the same with the Balochis. He further said that a sum of Rs320million was plundered on the pretext of roti scheme worth Rs2. He said that PPP and PML-N have become a laughing stock on account of their fake clashes.

Court Issues Warrant of Parvez Ashraf
RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Court Issues Warrant of Parvez Ashraf, A local court here on Saturday issued arrest warrant of Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Parvez Ashraf and others and ordered the police to present the accused before the court on Nov. 21.
On Saturday, local court’s judge Justice Rai Afzaal Kharal ordered the police to arrest federal minister, PPP leader Shahzad Kausar Gilani and others and present them before the court on continuous absence from the proceeding.
It was the fifth time the warrants have been issued in the case of the accused including Ashraf, the channel added.
Court Issues Warrant of Parvez Ashraf was first posted on November 7, 2009 at 1:38 pm.
