Triple Domki killings: SC suo motu case today

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) will hear today (Monday) the suo motu case against the killing of Baloch leader Akbar Bugti’s granddaughter. The court called Inspector General of Sindh Police and Advocate General to appear before the court today.

Meantime, wheel-jam strike is underway in Balochistan against the triple killings.

It should be mentioned here the apex court turned the plea of Balochistan Bar Association (BBA) into a petition against the killing of MPA Balochistan Bakhtiar Domki’s family and a driver and summoned Sindh’s IG and AG to appear before the court.

Domki’s wife, daughter and driver were gunned down in the wee hours on the morning of January 31 near the Gizri Bridge in Clifton.

The victims were riding their black Toyota Mark II car (ANR-353) when they were intercepted by killers who shot them dead at point-blank range.

The tribe’s spokesman said severe anger and agitation is found among the people of Domki clan over the assassinations. He demanded the Sindh government to immediately arrest the people responsible for the killings. TrendPK

Multan: No relief from loadshedding

The citizens are getting no relief from loadshedding despite decrease in shortfall of electricity. According to Multan Electric Power Supply Company (MEPCO), the shortfall of electricity was reduced to 375 megawatt in Multan region whereas the demand of electricity was recorded at 2775 MW.

At least 8 to 9 hours of loadshedding is being observed in the urban areas of Multan region while the people in the rural areas are facing 10 to 12 hours of power outage.

The power shutdown during sehar and iftar timings is creating problems for the people of Multan.

Aman Committee’s new leaders have no criminal past: Mirza

ISLAMABAD: Sindh’s Senior Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza Tuesday said the people who took charge of People’s Aman Committee following the death of Rehman Dacoit, had no criminal record whatsoever.

Talking to media on arriving in the federal capital, firebrand Mirza stressed there was no point in beating the drum of Peace Committee, stressing actual reasons of restiveness in the metropolis be made public.

Defending Aman Committee, Zulfiqar Mirza remarked People’s Aman Committee had no existence now, as its leaders had announced to abolish the organization after it was banned.

Obama says Gaddafi regime collapsing in Libya

OAK BLUFFS: U.S. President Barack Obama said on Sunday that Muammar Gaddafi’s rule was showing signs of collapse and called on the Libyan leader to relinquish power to avoid further casualties.

“The surest way for the bloodshed to end is simple: Moammar Gaddafi and his regime need to recognize that their rule has come to an end. Gaddafi needs to acknowledge the reality that he no longer controls Libya. He needs to relinquish power once and for all,” Obama said in a statement.

“We will continue to work with our allies and partners in the international community to protect the people of Libya, and to support a peaceful transition to democracy,” Obama said. AGENCIES

Millions of people sit for Aitqaf

Security forces have made special arrangements for the people sit for Aitqaf particularly in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta and Peshawar.

In Karachi, more than 0.1 million have sat for Aitqaf where they seek pardon from Allah Almighty and pray for the solidarity, peace and prosperity of the country. Their sitting would come to an end with the Hilal of Shawal.

Some people while keeping in view the Sunnah of the Great Prophet would sit for three days in mosques.

It is worth mentioning that in at least 50,000 people have sat for Aitqaf in the mosque of the Prophet in Madina.

ANP demands new province in Balochistan

Addressing the party units of tribal areas in Peshawar, ANP’s provincial president Afrasiab Khattak said that tribal areas should be declared a province to include tribal people in the national stream.

He said that South Pakhtunkhwa Province should be formed for the people of Balochistan and party should initiate consultation over the issue.

He said that imposition of Political Parties Act and representation of the tribal people in the provincial assembly was dire need of time.

Khattak added that Pakhtuns are one nation and they should not be separated due to geographic barriers.

Sindh: Nationalist parties announce to observe strike on 13th

They have appealed to the masses to keep their business activities and transportation service shut.

Sindh United Party President Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah met nationalist leaders at his residence and addressed a press conference.

He said that the government has rejected the people of Sindh by the ordinance restoring the local government system, adding that if the government did not withdraw its decision at once, they would not only observe a strike but also lay siege to the Assembly.

He said that the PPP had lost its credibility and representation among the masses.

Sindh National Front chairman Mumtaz Bhutto said that the strike on August 13 would reflect the voice of the people. If the government did not change its direction, it would definitely lose its remaining mandate.

Fox News hacker declared Obama dead

Hackers calling themselves The Script Kiddies hacked Twitter account belonging to US broadcaster Fox News declared President Obama dead.

Hackers calling themselves The Script Kiddies tweeted stating: “BREAKING NEWS: @BarackObama assassinated, 2 gunshot wounds have proved too much.” The first tweet read “Just regained full access to our Twitter and email. Happy 4th.” The next posting stated: “@BarackObama has just passed. The President is dead.” Even after hours the tweet has been posted it has not been removed from the account. The reason remains unknown that why did the hackers take hold of the Fox News account and why did they post such comments on President Obama.

The phrase “Script Kiddie” is internet slang for an inexperienced person who uses off-the-shelf hacking technology, developed by other people.

Load shedding continues despite KESC’s announcement

KARACHI: Several areas of the city face power cuts as per routine, despite the Karachi Electric Supply Company’s (KESC) announcement, in which it said there will be no load shedding during the World Cup semifinal between Pakistan and India on Wednesday.

The areas include Saddar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and others.

Yesterday KESC had announced that it would not cut power supply during the World Cup semifinal.

The decision was made seeing immense interest of the people towards the match. TrendPK
