KARACHI: Despite clear instructions given by Sindh’s Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine remains closed to devotees and pilgrims on Friday.
The shrine was closed to visitors after two suicide attacks left at least nine people dead Thursday night.
Speaking to newsmen outside the shrine the previous night, Shah announced that the shrine would open on Friday morning.
On the other hand Home Minister Zulfiqar Ali Mirza, ignoring Shah’s announcement, maintained that the shrine would not be opened till the issuance of security clearance. SAMAA

Two killed in H-Kashmir Gunbattle
SRINAGAR: Indian troops killed two suspected militants in held Kashmir on Friday, a day after a nearly 24-hour siege at a hotel that left four people dead, police said.
The two, both from Lashkar-e-Toiba group, according to police were killed during a gunbattle in Andrusa village, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Srinagar.

Bomb Blasts in Iraq, 29 Dead , Death toll has reached to 29 in a series of bomb attacks in Baghdad. A provincial counselor is also among the dead in the twin bomb blasts in Hilla, 100km south of Baghdad. It was reported that more than 100 people were injured in the blasts. Officials said that two explosions struck near a bus station. The first bomb, in a car, was said to have exploded in Hilla, the provincial capital about 95km south of the capital Baghdad. Another blast came about 15 minutes later when police arrived, leaving 29 people dead and 100 other injured.

SEOUL: 17 killed in S Korea Bus Crash, A tourist bus crash in South Korea has killed 17 people and injured 14 others.
Police officer Park Sang-ho said the bus was carrying 31 people — all South Koreans in their 70s and 80s — when it veered off a mountainous road Wednesday evening and rolled about 20 meters (yards) down a hill in Gyeongju, about 280 kilometers (174 miles) southeast of Seoul.
The crash left 17 people dead and the 14 others injured seriously.
Park said the exact cause is under investigation.
