Lahore: Three suspects arrested for firing on Police
After police stopped a suspicious looking car at a security check post near Kalma chowk, the three people in the car opened fire on the police officials and then ran into an under construction plaza near the check post.
Police cordoned off the area as the both sides exchanged fire for 15 minutes. Meanwhile police surrounded that three people and eventually arrested them.
After initial investigation, it was found out that the three people were involved in various robberies.
Fazl gets a narrow escape in Swabi bombing

At least seven people were killed and several others were injured in a bomb explosion near the reception rally of Maulana Fazlur Rahman in Anbar area of Swabi on Wednesday.
According to News Trends, the bomb exploded moments after the convoy of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Ameer, Fazlur Rahman, passed through the area.
The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off area after the incident and the rescue workers started the rescue operations. The injured were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar.

Hungu: Mortar attack kills 6, injures 8
A mortar attack killed at least six people, including women and children, in northwest Pakistan on Friday as Ashura processions were on their way to main imambargah.
According to police, mortars were fired from different areas into houses in Malakwal, Karmawal, Qazi Talaab and Spain Khwarway. Due to which six people were killed and 8 got injuries.
Mortars were fired from Orakzai and hit two houses in Hangu. Six people were killed and eight injured, Gul Jamal, a local police official, told.
The injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Hungu. Security forces bombed hideouts of militants.
Roadside bomb kills 3 pilgrims in Iraq

BAGHDAD: A roadside bomb killed three pilgrims and wounded 18 in Baghdad ahead of a religious event, an Iraqi Interior Ministry source said on Tuesday.
A police source said three people were killed and 19 wounded by the explosion in the western Baghdad district of Ghazaliya.
Another roadside bomb wounded 14 Shi’ite pilgrims in Khalis, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, the Diyala province operations centre said.
Shi’ite pilgrims have been gathering around Iraq ahead of Ashura on Friday, which commemorates the death of Prophet Mohammad’s grandson Hussein at the battle of Kerbala in 680. AGENCIES
Death toll in Bannu attack rises to seven

BANNU: The number of deaths from Bannu’s terrorist attack has reached seven as another injured man scrummed to his wounds in District Headquarters Hospital on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Alam Zeb. He had suffered serious injuries in the attack.
At least six people were killed and 18 others were wounded on Tuesday when a suicide bomber targeted a police van in Bannu.
Following the blast, police rounded up 94 suspects from various hotels located in the limits of Cantonment area. Trend Pk

ISLAMABAD: Chairman CNG Association Supreme Council Ghayyasuddin Paracha said that CNG stations will remain closed in Punjab on Tuesday, Trend Pk learnt.
According to Paracha, CNG stations remained opened in Bahawalpur and Islamabad on Saturday due to which all CNG stations will now remain closed today, all over Punjab.

Building collapse kills at least 60 in Indian capital

NEW DELHI: Rescuers using shovels, digging machines and their bare hands searched for survivors on Tuesday after a five-storey residential building collapsed in India’s capital, crushing at least 60 people to death.
Another 78 people were injured and at least 30 more were believed to trapped in the rubble after the collapse on Monday night, police and rescuers said.
“The lanes are very narrow. It is not easy for the (rescue) team to get there,” said Sheila Dikshit, Delhi’s chief minister.
She blamed the building’s faulty construction for the collapse and said her government would order a probe into it.
Local authorities said the building collapsed as its basement was waterlogged for days after heavy monsoon rains.

DHAKA: At least three people were killed and five, including a lawmaker of the ruling party, injured in a suicide bomb attack in Bangladesh on Saturday, police said.
The bomb was detonated at the residence of Afaz Uddin, an Awami League member of parliament, near Khustia, 300 km (190 miles) west of the capital Dhaka.

Sources said that motorcyclists attacked on the NATO supplying truck from Karachi to Quetta where two people including the driver have been killed. One man was also injured.
