A rock singer’s ‘devotion’
Reliance Media World’s radio arm, 92.7 BIG FM, which pioneered the offering of a devotional band on radio with its show Seher way back in 2006, is bringing back the show in an all new avatar. Being hosted by contemporary spiritual guru and programming director of Art Of Living, Vikram Hazra, the show will wake listeners to a spiritual start each morning Mondays to Fridays across 36 stations. Seher will be more than just about devotional songs.
Vikram is a new-age spiritual teacher and as a prolific rock singer himself, he and his teammates have started the Rock Satsang for Art of Living under the guidance of Sri Sri Ravi Sankar. Vikram’s bhajans and devotional songs are known to take followers to a different level of consciousness. Seher will see Vikram explaining spirituality as he translates the mysteries of the soul and human behaviour in various situations and tries finding answers to the chaos in life. He is the new soul jockey on 92.7 BIG FM.
Daler Mehndi goes devotional
The man who took bhangra pop to every music buff from the ’90s and also dabbled in films like Mrityudaata, Khauff and Rang De Basanti is now out with Mere Raam on Times Music.
“Music is a divine gift from the Almighty. He gives it to us to make this journey of the soul more soulful, happy and serene. I feel it’s a big responsibility. Life is a celebration and it’s easy to forget that with our limiting mindless running. But He is benevolent and through His incessant shower of gifts, God makes us realise every now and then that it’s time to celebrate Him,” says the singer.
The album is available for Rs 150.
