President To Sign 18th Amendment Bill Today

The signing ceremony of the 18th Constitutional Amendment Bill will be held in the Presidency today on Monday April 19. Spokesperson to the President former Senator Farhatullah Babar said that President Asif Ali Zardari telephoned Sunday morning PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Shairif and invited him to witness the ceremony.
The former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has accepted the invitation and will be attending the signing ceremony in the Presidency on Monday.
The spokesperson said that arrangements are being finalized for a ceremony befitting the historical occasion of reforming the Constitution and ridding it of all undemocratic clauses inserted into it by successive dictatorships.

Explosion Rocks Peshawar

PESHAWAR,News Trends: A powerful explosion has been heard on Khyber Road area of Peshawar.
There are reports of at least three injured in the blast.
The blast occurred outside Police Public School situated on Khyber Road.
The Geo News correspondent told at least two vehicles were destroyed in the blast.

2 Kids Die, 9 Injure In Peshawar Blast

PESHAWAR,PAKISTAN: At least two children were killed while nine others including four kids injured in an explosion outside Police Public School in Peshawar today Reported By A News Trends.
The blast occurred inside a shop located outside the main gate of the school.
The deceased children aged between 8 to 10 years. Police said that the blast took place immediately after the school timings end and children were gathered there.
The bags and books of the students dispersed on the place in wake of the blast. The injured were shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital. Two cars parked outside the schools also got damaged.

Three Hurt in Peshawar blast
PESHAWAR, Pakistan News: At least three policemen were wounded in a remote-controlled bomb blast at a checkpost here Thursday.
The blast occurred at Palosai Police Checkpost near Reegi graveyard area in outskirts of Peshawar. Near 5 to 6 policemen perform duty at the post.
Three policemen were hurt in the blast who were rushed to Khyber Teaching Hospital.

Pakistani traders to be given access to US markets: Hillary Clinton
Lahore, Pakistan:- US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Thursday that her country wanted to strengthen economic cooperation with Pakistan and Pakistani traders would be allowed access to the US open markets.
Addressing Pakistan’s business community at Governor House Lahore, Clinton said Pakistan had many positive aspects. “The Country had tremendous economic potential. The United States is Pakistan’s largest trade partner and investor and wants to enhance economic cooperation in future.” Governor Punjab Salman Taseer, while addressing on the occasion, said Kerry-Lugar Bill was in interest of Pakistan and would have positive impacts on the country’s economy.
Traders and Industrialists present on the occasion demanded the US secretary of state to improve Pakistani product’s access to the US markets, process of getting business visas should be eased, more investment should be made in energy sector and US companies should augment trade with Pakistani companies.

PAKISTAN: IG NWFP Accuses India, Israel and Afghan for Peshawar Blast, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said subcommittee of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly that the U.S. embassy Pakistan has requested more than 200 visas for Americans. Inspector General of Police NWFP charged that India, Israel and Afghanistan were involved in terrorism in the province.During a subcommittee meeting of the Standing Committee of National Human Rights Assembly in Islamabad, IG NWFP Malik Naveed said al-Qaida and the Taliban have denied their alleged involvement in Peshawar Blast that has rocked a busy market, killing more than 100 people and injuring more than 200 yesterday. He said that the style of the Peshawar blast explosions resembled that India’s intelligence agency RAW used to carry out in the 1980s. Peshawar Blast Toll Rises to 70
DCO Peshawar Sahibzada Anis has confirmed 70 deaths in the terrorist attack, adding that about 150 people were injured in the incident.
Shafqat Hussain AIG Police said about 150 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack.
The blast damaged more than 300 shops in four buildings, while that 70 to 80 stores and a building of the mosque were razed to the ground, witnesses said. Several people are said to still be trapped under the rubble of buildings and rescue teams are tryng to recover the wounded and the bodies from the rubble.
The authorities have declared emergency in hospitals. Some people were taken to 80injured Lady Reading and other hospitals in the city. Lady Reading Hospital officials have appealed the people to donate blood for those wounded in the attack.
Police sources said a car bomb was detonated by remote control.
Firefighters have controlled the blaze, which erupted when the bomb exploded in the area Peepal Mandi.

Peshawar Blast, 100 Kg Explosive Used
PESHAWAR: AIG Bomb Disposal Squad, Shafqat Malik informed newsmen that about 100 kg explosive material had been used in the blast in front of Askari bank which claimed six lives besides injuring scores of people.
Talking to newsmen here at the site of blast, AIG Shafqat Malik also disclosed that before detonation of explosive devise, a hand grenade was also hurled towards the bank.
The Bomb Disposal Squad expressed the suspicion that the suicide bomber was in the car that exploded with a big bang here on Saturday at busy Saddar Bazar.
He said mutilated body parts have been recovered which might be of the suicide bomber.
