Sonakshi Sinha signed for Race 2
Post the release of Dabangg, Sonakshi Sinha’s career seems to have sky-rocketed. First the good looking actress bagged Joker opposite Akshay Kumar and now Sonakshi has been also finalised for Race 2.
Race 2, directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Ramesh Taurani (Tips), stars big names such as Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone. With Sonakshi joining the cast of Race 2, things only get bigger and better.
Confirming the same, producer Ramesh Taurani says, “Yes we have finalised Sonakshi along with Deepika for the female lead and are now on the look out for one more actress to play the role of the female character.”
The film goes on floors next year.

requires her to go into intense preparation. Apparently, Katrina’s character in debutant director Ali Abbas Zafar’s film is so volatile and unpredictable
that it is completely contrary to every personality trait of Katrina’s.
In the film with Imran Khan and singer Ali Zafar, Katrina plays the craziest, zaniest, most stubborn and self-opinionated character of her career. And for
that she needed special preparation. According to producer Aditya Chopra’s brief Katrina plays the temperamental girl after much preparation. Known to be
well-behaved and gentle in person, Katrina plays a talkative ill-tempered busybody.
Says Katrina, “All I can say about my role is this girl is quite a number, the closest I came to playing something so challenging was in Namastey
London and that was a cakewalk compared with this . The girl in Ali’s film is… something else. I have to go completely outside myself to play her. Whom
am I observing to play the role? I am not telling.”
Delhi boy Suraj Sharma to play lead in Ang Lee’s Life of Pi
Academy award winning director Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hulk, Brokeback Mountain) has finally found the perfect actor to play the lead role in his ambitious project Life of Pi. The boy in question is 17 year old Suraj Sharma from Delhi who managed to stand out among 3000 other boys who’d auditioned for this coveted role.
Suraj may not have any experience in acting but the manner in which he emoted through his eyes won over Ang Lee’s heart and helped him bag the role. Even Bollywood star Sonu Sood is in talks with Lee to play the role of Pi’s father.
Life of Pi is based on the Canadian author Yann Martel’s Booker Prize winning-novel. It tells the story of a boy Piscine Molitor ‘Pi’ Patel from Pondicherry who survives 227 days after a shipwreck, while stranded on a boat with a Bengal tiger. The film will be shot in India and Taiwan.
Genelia to play Portuguese princess in Santosh Sivan’s film
How often do girls get to play the role they have long dreamt of, that of being a princess? Well for Genelia, this dream has come true.
Genelia, who is currently in Malaysia shooting for south film, will soon be seen in Santosh Sivan’s directorial venture Urumi. Santosh is all set with the film which revolves around a 15th century boy who wants to kill Vasco Da Gama. It will star Genelia along side southern star Prithviraj and will be a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam.
While Genelia plays the Portuguese princess, Prithviraj will be donning the role of the ringleader of the gang that’s plotting to kill Vasco Da Gama.
As far as shooting and dates go, the film is scheduled to hit the floors this August in Malshej Ghat. While on the other hand, the title of the film ‘Urumi’ refers to the eight feet long flexible sword that is traditionally used in the Kalari a known martial arts form in Kerala.

Nakuul Mehta, who was last seen in Haal E Dil, is now all set to hit big times, as he has signed a Spanish film opposite none other than…hold your breath… Monica Cruz… the gorgeous sister of Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz!
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, a visibly excited Nakuul said that “The film is called Flamenco In Bollywood, and is a Spanish romantic comedy. The best part was that I just wasn’t supposed to be a part of the film! What I really want to thank God for is that despite the fact that I don’t have an agent in Hollywood, I still managed to get a role in a film and that too… the lead one!” When we probed more, he revealed, “What actually happened was that, the film’s director Onil Ganguly Avemore had already auditioned many young Bollywood actors and was on his way back home. And, that’s when he saw my film Haal E Dil on the flight (as a part of the in-flight entertainment). He, then, immediately called his casting director for my contact, and the next thing that I knew was that I was doing the film! Till now, I just can’t believe my luck.”
When asked about the film, as expected, Nakuul was not ready to divulge many details of the film. All that he said was that, “While Monica plays a flamenco dancer; I play the role of a Bollywood actor, with whom she falls in love. The fact also remains that she’s totally unaware of the fact that I’m a star. The film, then, deals with me following her back to Spain.”
Nakuul added that, “Even though it’s a Spanish film, but my character speaks English. Still, I am learning Spanish, even though my role doesn’t need that. We will start shooting the film in October in Spain and then, in Mumbai.”
Before signing off, Nakuul adds, “I am as excited for this film as much as for my upcoming release titled Avant Garde Pythagoras Sharma. This film will be showcased at European and American film festivals.”

Sharman, Jackky, Ruslaan and ’3 Days 4 Nights In Bihar’
What Salman Khan couldn’t do, that is shoot his home production Dabangg on location in Bihar, his replacement Ruslaan Mumtaz is all set to do.
New director Abhishek Dogra who has finalized Ruslaan Mumtaz to play the role that was initially offered to Salman Khan, is all set to shoot his film entitled 3 Days 4 Nights In Bihar on location in Bihar.
The story of three spoilt rich wayward dudes blundering through Bihar in a nightmarish vacation is described by Salman’s replacement Ruslaan as “a Dil Chahta Hai meets Rang De Basanti in Bihar… yes, we’re going to shoot the film completely on location in Bihar.”
Regarding Ruslaan replacing Salman, the younger actor says, “After Salmanbhai suggested that he take a younger actor for his role, the young director Abhishek Dogra changed the script.”
Earlier he had planned to sign Salman and two other actors from that generation. Now it’s 3 young actors Sharman, Jackky and Ruslaan.
“I’ve always modelled my physique on Salman, so it feels good,” says Ruslaan.

LOS ANGELES: Actress Megan Fox is sure she would be able to play the role of a mother in real life pretty well.
The 23-year-old Transformers star revealed she would love to have her own family in future.
“No one believes me when I talk about this, but I”m really maternal,” People magazine quoted her as telling W magazine.
But she added: “I worry that because I”ve always wanted [kids] so much, as the world goes sometimes, I won”t be able to have them, even though I would be able to provide them with such an amazing environment.”
Fox, who became the new face of Emporio Armani jeans, further revealed what she thought of her fellow Hollywood ladies.
She said: “I don”t trust people in this industry, but I especially don”t trust girls in this industry, because it’’s incredibly competitive, and I”m just not interested.”

Spider-Man To Spin Movie Web In 3D

LOS ANGELES: When the new “Spider-Man” movie lands in theaters in two years, on-screen crooks won’t be the only ones getting caught in the comic book crime fighter’s web, audiences may just feel the sticky strands, too.
Film studio Columbia Pictures on Wednesday said the new “Spider-Man” film, which will be the fourth in the series and still does not have a title, will be shown in 3D and begin its run in theaters on July 3, 2012.
The “Spider-Man” franchise is among the most lucrative in Hollywood, having sold nearly $2.5 billion worth of tickets worldwide for its three previous movies.
For the fourth film, Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios have hired a new director, Marc Webb, to replace Sam Raimi and will get a new actor other than Tobey Maguire to play the role of Peter Parker, who transforms into the crime fighter.
The studios promise a “new chapter” in the movie that takes audiences back to when Parker was merely a high school kid.

Defiant Blair Defends Decisions Over Iraq War, Former British prime minister Tony Blair defended the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq, saying the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States meant Saddam Hussein had to be disarmed or removed.
The Al-Qaeda strikes against US cities had transformed the global security picture, raising the risk that militants could kill even more people if weapons of mass destruction (WMD) from a rogue state were to fall into their hands, Blair said. Facing the first official public grilling on why he sent 45,000 British troops to war in Iraq, Blair batted away questions about the legality of the invasion but admitted for the first time there had been mistakes in the post-war planning. Blair defended the war’s legality, relying on the green light the government’s top lawyer gave only days before the conflict, and saying a second UN resolution had only been desirable from a political, not legal perspective. Blair also added that they did not anticipate al Qaeda and Iran would play the role that they did which he said almost caused the mission to fail.

Ruthie From 7th Heaven, Mackenzie Rosman, best remembered for playing the role of Ruthie from 7th Heaven is all grown up and is about to star in her first leading role on the big screen.
Now 19 years old, Rosman is starring in the new Edgar Allan Poe film, known as Edgar Allan Poe’s Ligeia, in which she will play the role of Loreli. In case you missed her, her last film role was Jill in the horror movie Fading of the Cries.
According to some reports, Mackenzie Rosman could be one of the new up and comers in Hollywood depending on the reaction to her latest movie. 7th Heaven fans should be pleased, although as the Mackenzie Rosman picture above shows, she’s not little Ruthie any more.
