Updates by Nomijee : A blast at a coalmine in Colombia has killed at least eight miners and left at least 70 trapped underground, officials say. ,br. The explosion happened at
the San Fernando mine in Amaga in Antioquia province. Officials say there is little likelihood of finding survivors.
“To be honest there is not much [hope], very little, practically none,” Luz Amanda Pulido, a national disaster official, told local radio. The blast happened when miners were changing shift, officials said.
For that reason, the exact number of people inside the mine was unclear, they said. Rescuers were trying again to access to the mine on Thursday morning.
It is not yet clear what caused the blast but officials said there may have been a build-up of gases. Colombia is one of the world’s largest coal exporters.
Faisal Shahzed Faces 10 Terrorism Charges

The main suspect of botched car bombing in New York’s Times Square Faisal Shahzed was charged in a 10-count indictment.
The US Defense Ministry has stated that Shahzad was trained in Pakistan by Tehrik-e-Taliban operatives.
American Attoreny Journal Eric Holder has also informed that Pakistani Talibans helped Shahzad to plan attack on America.
It is pertinent to mention that several charges against Shahzad carry life sentences if he is convicted.
Nirpama Rao To Visit Pakistan On June 24

Indian Foreign Secretary Nirpama Rao would visit Pakistan next week on the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart.
Foreign Office spokesperson Abdul Basit told media that the two dignataries would meet on June 24.
All the outstanding issues between the two countries would likely to be taken up in the scheduled meeting.
It merits to mention that an impasse was formed in the dialogue process between the two countries since the Mumbai attacks for which India held Pakistan responsible.
Ever since, India termed terrorism issue resolution as a condition for resumption of talks with Pakistan.
Blast On Rail Track In Quetta, Two Hurt

QUETTA: An explosion at railway track in Darakhshan area of Quetta on Saturday morning damaged two feet portion of the track.
Faisalabad bound Chiltan Express, which had departed from Quetta, had to pass the area at that time but according to railway officials the train has been unscathed. The railway has sent relief teams to the area, sources added.
PM Gilani Says Not Against Saraiki Province

Times Square Suspect Pleads Guilty ’100 Times’

Faisal Shahzad has pleaded guilty to the failed Times Square car bomb attempt, warning of more attacks on the US because of its occupation of Muslim countries.
Pakistani-American Shahzad was presented to a court in New York where he admitted all charges against him, adding he wanted “to plead guilty and 100 times more” to let the US know, explaining that his motivation was the US occupation of Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia.
He also warned the US to halt drone attacks against Pakistan and Yemen otherwise face the threats of further retaliation. In a reply to a question he said that the US is killing children in Afghanistan.
Shahzad added that he prepared the car bomb to cause maximum damage and he continued to wait for the device to explode. Shahzad admitted that he had recently received bomb-making training in Pakistan. He also admitted that he had individually planned the bomb plot and took help from no one else.
Pakistan Not Bound to US Sanctions on Iran

News Trends: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan is not bound by US sanctions on Iran vis-à-vis Iran-Pakistan pipeline, however added that the embargoes would be respected, if imposed by the UN.
Addressing parliamentary members at a luncheon in Islamabad, Gilani called upon all the institutions to work within their ambit. He rubbished the notion about confrontation between the government and judiciary.
He said all the members of parliament are law makers and not law breakers.
