Preity Zinta to star in Jai Ramji; will play a gangster in the film
Preity Zinta will be seen on the big screen after a long hiatus. The actress will be playing a gangster in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Jai Ramji. Though currently Preity has her hands full with the on going IPL and her TV show Guinness World Records, Preity is also gearing up for her return to the silver screen.
Jai Ramji will be a gangster film, set in eastern UP. When we reported details of the film last month, the female lead was yet to be finalised. But now, Preity has been roped in for the film. Preity, who has heard the script and has agreed to do it, is yet to sign on the dotted line though. Preity will be a part of the gang, which includes actors such as Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan and Randeep Hooda.
The film is said to go on floors in July and should be wrapped up by end of this year.

Preity joins hands with Leonardo DiCaprio & Naomi Campbell to protect Tigers
Preity Zinta is making news everywhere. She is either at the NASDAQ or becoming brand ambassador to a city and now she is all out fighting for the survival
of the wild cats. Why not? After all isn’t Tiger the national animal of India? Therefore, in this endeavour she has joined hands with Hollywood superstar
Leonardo DiCaprio, and supermodel Naomi Campbell.
The globe trotting Preity was invited along with Leo and Naomi at the Global Tigers Initiative organised by the International Tiger Conservation Forum in St
Petersburg, Russia. Hosted by Prime Minister Vladmir Putin the forum was attended by officials from countries that are home to tigers.
The three beautiful people drafted plans to give the campaign a push globally. Naomi and Preity had met before on Vikram Chatwal’s fashion show and hit it
off instantly. The two discussed the alarming rate at which tiger poaching is making the numbers dwindle and have taken it upon themselves to tour the
country and see the natural reserves and habitats themselves. Preity on her own would also tour different countries creating awareness about the issue. In
fact on Twitter as well she posted the message “India has over a billion people and only 1409 tigers! Think about it?”
Preity was invited to the summit to speak about crime and injustice against tigers and was asked to endorse a St. Petersburg Declaration on Tiger
Conservation and a Global Tiger Recovery Program. Preity posted a picture of her own at the forum with a message, “Just landed in St Petersburg ! Whew! Long
flight! Its wonderful 2 see da city I read so much bout when I was in school:-) Ting ! Loving it !” The dimpled lady does make us proud time and again.
Preity Zinta to rub shoulders with Cherie Blaire
After all the Obama gaga, India is all set to witness the arrival of yet another topnotch international personality – Cherie Blaire, the former first Lady
of Britain. Even though there will be hoards of Indian dignitaries who will be meeting her, from Bollywood, it will only be the original bubblicious Preity
Zinta who will be meeting Cherie. Apparently, the two bonded big time at the annual Diwali charity auction in Britain hosted by The Loomba Trust.
While Cherie’s trip will focus on philanthropy, Preity and she will together be in charge of working to find out solutions on how to uplift the conditions of
the underprivileged and needy here. Preity and Cherie earlier bonded big time by talking about issues ranging from healthcare, infant mortality rates, female
feticide, and the need for nutrition for most pregnant women in India.
News also has it that Preity will be hosting a lavish dinner in her honour in Mumbai. With all of this, it seems like Cherie will surely have a ‘Preity’ good
time during her visit to India this time.
Shilpa and Preity’s IPL dreams come to an end
Last weekend was not a particularly a good weekend for two of Bollywood’s beauties namely Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty. Their respective IPL teams Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals had been expelled from the IPL by the IPL governing council and BCCI on charges of transgression of shareholding and ownership norms that threatened to “shake the very foundation of the tender process”.
Both Preity and Shilpa but naturally expressed shock and sorrow at this extreme decision taken by the BCCI. Preity tweeted, “Still absorbing the News! After working so hard in the IPL & putting my everything building this team dis is not what I expected! Shocked!”
Meanwhile Shilpa, who was in London when the news broke, also seemed upset at the way the whole issue had been treated by the BCCI. She tweeted, “Honestly too shocked to react, just disheartened…cause its more than just a team 4 us! Still havnt recd the termination will react after. Need to kno the basis of this decision…In London now.”
The IPL had kind of given a fresh lease of life to the sagging acting careers of both Shilpa and Preity. However, now that their respective franchises have been terminated, it remains to be seen what lies in store in the future for these two Bollywood beauties.
Last heard, both teams were contemplating legal action as one last chance to renew their IPL hopes.
Salman Khan-Aamir to walk the Ramp
After getting an all-guy gang of fellow actors to walk at his Being Human show last year, Salman Khan has now requested his leading ladies, among a few other actresses to scorch the catwalk this time. The all-girl brigade will walk the ramp at a fashion showing hosted by Salman Khan and his sister Alvira Agnihotri at the LFW on October 9. The proceeds from the show will go to Salman’s NGO, Being Human.
Alvira and Salman have sent out personal invites to Khan’s leading ladies and they have responded almost instantly.
Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Asin, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji are confirmed to walk the ramp.

The actor’s career began to look a little out of Vipul Shah’s Aankhen (2002), where he was known for keeping his own against Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Sushmita Sen and Paresh Rawal. Dil Hai Tumhaara in the same year with Preity Zinta and Mahima Chaudhry was not a hit, but did pretty well thanks to good songs and performances.
The actor’s future film is ambitious RA.One SRK and Farhan Akhtar Don second is also Kunal Avadana (with Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu), directed by Chanakya fame Chandra Prakash Dwivedi.
The rocker is now a politician in Prakash Jha’s political drama Raajneeti release June 4. The film also Nana Patekar, NaseRuddin Shah, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay and Manoj Devagan Bajpe.

MUMBAI: Preity Zinta is the richest girl in Bollywood today. She is an Indian film actress and has appeared in many Indian movies and soap. She has received several awards in her acting career.
She has taken part in several stage shows and world tours. She graduated with a degree of criminal psychology.
Zinta acquired ownership rights in 2008 for the Mohali-based Twenty20 cricket team of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The group has paid $76million to gain the franchise.
Until 2009, Zinta was the only woman to own an IPL team, and proclaimed to be the league’s youngest owner. Zinta’s stake in her cricket team alone is valued at around Rs 350 to Rs 400 crore. She is also likely to be the legal heir of Shandar Amrohi, who is one of the co-owners Kamalistan Studios.
Uma Thurman Calls Off Engagement
LOS ANGELES: Hollywood siren Uma Thurman has called off her engagement to wealthy Swiss businessman Arpad Busson, People magazine reported.
The report quoted a friend of the couple as saying that they split last November. The couple began dating in the summer of 2007 and announced the engagement a year later.
In September, Thurman, 39, admitted she wasn’t planning to marry Busson anytime soon. “I’m happily engaged but we haven’t set a wedding up,” she told W magazine. “I’m not in a rush to do anything. One day we’ll do it, when we’re ready.”

Preity Goes Gaga Over Kajol
MUMBAI : The world of showbiz may be full of catfights and raging egos but that does not stop actress Preity Zinta from complimenting Kajol on her ‘outstanding’ performance in ‘My Name Is Khan’.
With Bollywood’s golden couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol coming together after almost a decade, the film is one of the most awaited releases of 2010, but Preity has already given her verdict.
“I saw some of the film’s (My Name Is Khan) footage and she is outstanding in it and so is Shahrukh and I think it will be great movie,” Preity, who was here in the capital as the brand ambassador of Dabur Vatika Hair Oil, said.
Preity can even bet on the fact that no body could have done the role better than Kajol.
“Look at Kajol. She goes and gets married, has a kid. She disappears for three years and she comes back does some thing like ‘My Name Is Khan’ and she is so good in the film. I can bet that none of the actresses can stand in front of her,” Preity said.
Karan Johar directed ‘My Name is Khan‘ is set to hit the theaters in Feb next year and stars Shah Rukh as Rizvan Khan, an unconventional hero, who embarks on an incredible journey in order to win back the love of his life (Kajol).
And along the way, his unique brand of goodness and humanity touches the lives of many and inspires a nation.
