No One Killed Jessica premiere in Mumbai

MUMBAI: The makers of No One Killed Jessica seem to be confident of their product. Unlike most Bollywood films that are premiered just a day before the release date, the film was shown to the critics and film fraternity three days before it is to be released world wide. And as expected, it turned out to be a star-studded event.
Yes, it was celebrity galore at No One Killed Jessica premiere. Big actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha and Shabana Azmi attended the premiere besides the cast of the film Rani Mukherjee, Vidya Balan and Myra Karn. Actress Kalki Koechlin and filmmakers like Yash Chopra, Madhur Bhandarkar, Shekhar Kapoor and Dibaker Banerjee also graced the premiere of the film.
No One Killed Jessica is based on model Jessica Lal”s murder case. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film has Rani playing the role of a reporter and Vidya playing Jessica”s younger sister Sabrina. It is set to hit the theatres tomorrow, January 7.
Jolie torments, Pitt smiles at ‘The Tourist’ premiere

NEW YORK: Angelina Jolie enticed in an ivory Atelier Versace angora gown at the premiere of her latest film, The Tourist.
She was accompanied by her partner Brad Pitt.
She accessorized with matching Salvatore Ferragamo pumps and spectacular rectangle earrings by her personal jewelry designer Robert Procop.
Her hair was styled half up half down with a heavily teased top and peek-a-boo bangs.
Speaking to the media at the premiere about her makeover in the film, Jolie said, “I had never played a lady… really… before… I had played a version of a kind of a girl… something really tough, or something cool.”
“I found it a big challenge to play someone extremely European, elegant, little bows and little pink. It was all very foreign to me,” she added.
Speaking about working with co-star Johnny Depp – who looked dapper at the event in a 3 piece pin stripe Polo Ralph Lauren suit – Jolie said they both had seen and liked each other”s films but had never met before.
“And we met and we talked about kids for the first hour and France for the second and had a good laugh. We really enjoyed working with each other in the film and I hope that comes across,” she added.
The film is due in theaters on December 10.
Abhishek flies down for a night for special screening of Guzaarish
Love for Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has a sparkling connotation even after five years of togetherness. On Thursday night, for a special screening of
his wife’s film Guzaarish, Abhishek flew into Mumbai out of Goa where he’s shooting with a whole bunch of co-stars for Abbas-Mustan’s Players
and flew back to Goa the next morning, and that too when there was just one day of shooting left in Goa.
Says a source, “Aishwarya told him the premiere for Guzaarish was cancelled, so he had no plans of returning to Mumbai until Saturday morning when the
schedule in Goa ended.
But when he heard that there was a very special screening of Guzaarish on Thursday evening for hand-picked guests, Abhishek decided there was no way
he would not stand by his wife’s side at this important gathering.
Abhishek first informed all his co-stars Bipasha Basu, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonam Kapoor, he then took Abbas-Mustan into confidence. The directors were
worried since there was just one day’s shoot. But when they understood how important it was for Abhishek to be by his wife’s side, they let him go. He flew
out into Mumbai on Thursday evening, flew back on Friday morning to complete the schedule.”

LONDON: They may have been kicked off The X Factor last weekend, but Belle Amie are clearly determined not to fade into oblivion like so many of the show’s former contestants.
The girl group – Esther Campbell, Geneva Lane, Sophia Wardman and Rebecca Creighton – made the most of their time in the spotlight by adding some glamour to the premiere of Robert Downey Jr’s new movie Due Date in London.
While Geneva showed off her long legs in a tiny sequinned dress, Esther opted for a black jumpsuit, Rebecca Creighton went for a bright blue dress and Sophia Wardman proved her style credentials in a white dress, boots and patterned socks.
And while their time on the X Factor might be up, Belle Amie have no intention of disappearing now they are no longer on the reality show.
Geneva, 20, explained: “We want to keep ourselves busy, we don’t want to fade. We hope to progress and become stronger.
“We are definitely staying together and are going to move in together at some point, we’re looking already.
“We want to experiment and really find ourselves, because we still feel that we need to find our identity, so this is going to be good for us.”
And Belle Amie weren’t the only casualties of this year’s X Factor to make an appearance at the London premiere.
Niccolo Festa, who was the first act voted off the current series, and Louis Walsh”s act John Adeleye, who fell victim to the second week of live shows, attended with their dates.
Due Date tells the story of a father-to-be (played by Downey Jr), who is forced to go on a road trip with an eccentric aspiring actor (played by Zach Galifianakis) in order to be with his wife (Michelle Monaghan) when she gives birth to their first baby.
Downey Jr attended the premiere with his wife Susan Downey, who produced the film, who looked stunning in an elegant red asymmetric dress.
And Galifianakis, who shot to fame through his role in The Hangover, went for casual style in cord trousers and a beanie hat as he posed at the event.
Talking about the film recently, Downey Jr said it is the ”second greatest” movie he has ever starred in, adding: ”That’s largely due to Zach Galifianakis, who is crazy good in every scene, and Todd Phillips, who is just one of the great American directors.
”I guarantee you’re going to love it – I went to the last screening and people were literally saying ‘Oh my god, It’s gotta stop – my face hurts!’
Friday Nnight Lights Season 5
Friday Nnight Lights Season 5, The beloved, critically acclaimed but ratings challenged Friday Night Lights began its fifth and final season tonight on (interestingly) Direct TV. Hopefully this season will continue to deliver astounding performances, making fans in tears at the thought of bidding goodbye to Coach Taylor, Tami, Julie, Matt, and Landry. Season 5 will entail 13 episodes of, I suspect, heart-tugging story lines and evolving characters. Sadly, I lost track at some point even thought it is one of the best shows on television, so plan to watch the previous seasons before I delve into this one.
Following is a snippet of the premiere. Did you watch the entire episode, and if so, what did you think?
Shazahn Padamsee is intimidated by Ajay Devgn
In Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji, Shazahn Padamsee plays the nice sweet Catholic girl who works in Ajay Devgn’s company. Soon the 40-year old character begins to get attracted to the 20-year old girl.
Initially, Shazahn whose last co-star was Ranbir Kapoor was intimidated by the thought of working with an actor so much her senior. But Madhur convinced her about the relevance of the age-group in the script.
Says Shahzahn, “Initially I was nervous. But I knew I was going to be taken care of. Madhur Bhandarkar is one of the best directors ever. Look at the kind of magic he works with his heroines. When I saw Chandni Bar I was blown. It’s the best Hindi film I’ve seen.”
The other impediment in Shazahn’a way was that her role requires a lot of dancing. Luckily, Shazahn is equipped to handle that. “After Rocket Singh, I went down South to do two films one in Tamil, the other in Telugu. Both required a lot of Bollywood-styled dancing. So I can manage the movements well now.”
Again managing them with an actor who is twice her age could be problematic. Shazahn is willing to put in long ours to get her steps with Devgn right.
It’s interesting how Shazahn bagged a role that had several short-listed finalists including the producer Kumar Mangat’s daughter Amita.
Madhur Bhandarkar was on the look-out for a very young relatively-unrecognized girl to play out the older-man-young-girl romance. He spotted Shazahn at the premiere of Raajneeti. And immediately knew she was the one he was looking for. Not knowing about the stress between Raajneeti director and Devgn, Bhandarkar quickly looked around at the premiere for Devgn to seek his approval for the actress.
Says a source, “Bhandarkar was shocked to know that Devgn was not coming for the Raajneeti premiere. He had to find another opportunity to introduce Shazahn to Devgn.”
Premiere of Raavan in London on June 16
On the 16th of June 2010, all roads will be leading to London’s BFI, Southbank. Call it historic? Yes, because the entire Raavan cast is going to be present at the red carpet world premiere of the film. Doubling it up with the presence of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Mrs. Jaya Bachchan, the night will have more flashes than any other night has ever had in London for a Bollywood film.
A source close to the film tells me, “Mr. Bachchan is off to London last night and will be staying there for one week. He has some felicitation ceremonies to attend and some meetings and then he attends the Raavan premiere with wife Jaya and the cast of Raavan on the 16th. The scene is going to be like what we saw at the Paa premiere. Very rarely do we see the entire Bachchan family together at a premiere.”
So if there is a stampede on the premiere day, you know whom to blame!

Edie Sedgwick was an American actress, model, socialite and heirness. She was born on 20th April 1943 and died on 16 November 1971.her full name is Edith Minturn Sedgwick. She was born in Santa Barbara, California.
Her father’s beloved aunt Edith Minturn gave her name. Edie Sedgwick father was a philanthropist and a sculptor.
She had a hidden talent of acting and modellin.she started her carrier in 1965 and played a main role in her first series The Poor Little Rich Girl Saga. Edie Sedgwick became chain smoker and she was also started taking drugs. Her first relationship was with Bob Dylan but it ended up very soon. After this relationship she was very upset and her loneliness made her drug addict and that’s why her performance n movies and her grades starting decreasing due to drug addiction.
In 1969 she was hospitalized due to bad health because drugs. She went to many physiatrists but was unable to leave drugs. In 1970 she was again hospitalized but due to her career problem she was let gone by physiatrist under care of her family and two nurses. She said that she had left her bad habits and joined her modeling section again.
On 15 November 1971 she went for her shooting on regular basis and in night she went to party given by her friends there she was attacked by drunken guest and was forced to drink wine. Then he went back to her home and the next day when her family members came they found her dead in her bed.
