Karachi police foil terror plot to bomb Ashura processions
Karachi police has foiled a terror plot to bomb 9-10 Muharram processions in Karachi and arrested a militant Imamuddin alias Muawia. The culprit wanted to bomb the procession with explosive laden vehicle. The culprit was also the mastermind of attack on the bus of French engineers outside Sheraton Hotel Karachi.
SSP-SIU Raja Umar Khatab told a news conference that the militant has been arrested from Ayyub Ghot area of Suhrab Ghot while his three companions fled the scene. Arms, suicide jackets, explosive material, pistols and bullets were recovered from the possession of the culprit.
9th Muharram: Mourning procession being taken out across country; red alert

Extra police and Rangers contingents have been deployed across the country in this regard. Security arrangements have also been finalized in others major cities for Muharram including Quetta. Police, Balochistan Constabulary and FC besides a brigade of Army would be deployed in the city on the occasion of mourning processions.LEAs have sealed off all the procession routes in Quetta, Lahore and others major cities.
Peshawar: Child killed, 26 injured in a grenade attack

A child has been killed whereas 26 people have been injured in a grenade attack on a Muharram procession at Yadgar Chowk, Peshawar, trendpk.com reported.
Sources said that blast occurred right after the procession ended. The injured were taken to the Lady Reading hospital including 8 women and 4 children.
Bashir Ahmed Bilour, senior minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa talking to media-men outside the Lady Reading Hospital confirmed that it was a grenade attack. He said all injured have got minor injuries in the blast.

KARACHI: The route plan for the funeral procession of Dr. Imran Farooq’s body has been changed by the concerned authorities; it has been decided that the corpse of the deceased leader of Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will be directly taken by a helicopter to Jinnah Ground, Azizabad, from the airport of Karachi.
Earlier on Friday, the local leaders of Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the officials of Karachi’s Quid-e-Azam International Airport finalized the security arrangements for the arrival of remains and the procession of Dr. Imran Farooq’s funeral.
To finalize the security arrangements, a combined meeting of the officers of Airport Security Force (ASF), Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and MQM leaders, Babar Ghauri and Rauf Siddiqui, was held at the Civil Aviation Headquarter.

To finalize the security arrangements, a combined meeting of the officers of Airport Security Force (ASF), the officers of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and MQM leaders, Babr Ghauri and Rauf Siddiqui, was held in the Civil Aviation Headquarter.
The meeting decided that on the morning of November 6, from 7.00am, the security of all routes from Star Gate to old terminal will be handed over to the volunteers of MQM.
The airport officials will issue two hundred security passes for the volunteers of MQM to go to the old terminal to perform their assigned security duties on November 6.

MIRANSHAH: Eight terrorists have been killed in a spying missile attack in Data Khel, SAMAA reported Saturday.
Sources told three missiles were carried out on a house in Mizer area of Tehsil Data Khel situated near Pak-Afghan border. Eight terrorists were killed on the spots while the house and a vehicle damaged completely.

KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorist Court on Saturday approved police remand for the five culprits involving in shooting at the Yaum-e-Ali procession near Empress Market.
Barkat Khan, Ibad, Muhibullah, Qaseem Khan and Naseeb Khan were arrested when they started firing on the procession. Police informed the court that the investigation was underway, therefore, the police requested a remand. The arrested men would be presented before the court on September 06. SAMAA

QUETTA: A suicide bomber killed at least 60 people at a Youm-al-Quds rally in the latest sectarian violence to hit Pakistan as the country struggles with the aftermath of massive floods.
The bomber was among the 450-strong crowd marching through the southwestern city of Quetta on Friday and blew himself up as the procession reached the main square.
Chaotic scenes followed, with an angry mob starting fires and shooting into the air while others fled or lay on the ground to avoid the gunfire.
“According to the reports collected from hospitals, 60 people have been killed and scores have been injured,” Sardar Khan, chief of Quetta’s police control room, told AFP by telephone.
