Furore in US over Osamas death
Euphoria engulfed the United States soon after US President Barack Obama announced the death of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. A large crowd of people gathered outside the White House gates on Pennsylvania Avenue, waving flags and dancing in jubilation.
They sang the “Star Spangled Banner” in unison and chanting “USA USA USA” and “Na na na na — na na na na …Hey hey goodbye” in reference to Osama bin Laden.
The crowd is swelling by the minute. People are running to join the group with American flags and there is lot of dancing and cheering. As the news was finally confirmed, families of those who died in the 2001 attacks spoke through tears of their relief that Bin Laden had finally been killed.
Bush has called the killing a “momentous achievement”. He said, “The fight against terror goes on.”
Former US secretary of state Conoleezza Rice said, “The demise of Osama Bin Laden is a tremendous victory for the American people.”
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said US had kept their promise after the 09-11 attacks to capture or kill Bin Laden.

LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is confident that his government will complete its constitutional term and will also emerge the winner in the next general election.
Addressing a gathering of the party’s parliamentary leaders here on Saturday, he said that PPP will not deviate from its reconciliatory policy with PML-N, despite political challenges.
“We are keeping our promise on the charter of democracy and will continue to do so in the future also,” he said.
PPP, he said, ended politics of vendetta, due to which there is no political prisoner in the country.
The meeting also reviewed the overall performance of the government over the last two and half years.
In addition, PPP members of the Punjab Assembly complained about non-release of development funds. SAMAA
Vivek Oberoi adopts family in Vrindavan
Vivek Oberoi is known to be very closely associated with charitable causes. The actor who runs Project DEVI (Development and Empowerment of Vrindavan Girls Initiative) recently adopted a family in Vrindavan after its bread winner died of cancer.
Vivek happened to interact with Shehzad Quereshi who was suffering from cancer during his visit to Vrindavan last year. Shehzad had requested Vivek to take care of his family comprising of his wife and four children in the event of his death.
When Shehzad passed away earlier this year, Vivek kept his promise and decided to take care of his whole family. Only recently during his Vrindavan visit, VO along with Sushmita Sen even met and interacted with Shehzad’s two daughters. The actor affectionately calls them his ‘little angels’.
Must say here is one actor who indeed knows how to fulfill a promise- a commitment.

KSE Slow In Bullish Trends
KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) showed steady bullish trends this week, as local and foreign investors kept buying with benchmark 100-index poised at 9000-point level the entire week.
The market opened in positive zone this week and witnessed fluctuations the entire week with 100-index, at one point, seen touching 9150-point level.
However, viewing the promise in some sectors, the investors resorted to selling, which pushed the index off the balance, making it close at 9059 up 56 points.
The average trading volume shrank by 15 percent to 210 million scrips. The leading blue chips were OGDCL and National Bank.
The experts said outstanding bullish activity could be seen in the next week, as foreign investors augmented buying.
