Akshay gives Bollywood gyaan to Katrina on TMK promotional tours
Nowadays thanks to the promotional tours and events for their new film together, Akshay Kumar is spending a lot of time with Katrina Kaif. And we can safely say it’s time well spent for Katrina. Akshay is constantly enhancing Katrina’s knowledge of Hindi films, their titles and other trivia.
By now it’s common knowledge that Katrina is not quite clued into the nuances and titles of Hindi cinema. Her co-star Akshay Kumar, who prides himself for being just the opposite and is a veritable encyclopaedia of filmy titles and other trivia, has found an ingenious method of educating his co-star. He plays Dumb Charade with Katrina providing her signs and hints from commercial Hindi films as clues.
And boy, is Katrina getting clued in!
Lets hear it, Sheila ki zubaani (voice). “I’ve to admit I couldn’t have hoped for a more fun teacher than Akshay. I come from a place where I can’t gush about how I grew up on a staple diet of Sholay and Mughal-e-Azam. Akshay knows it all. He is completely clued into the cult of potboilers and can mimic every actor and act out every famous sequence. Being with him over the last few weeks, I am finally getting knowledgeable about Hindi movies.”
The games of Dumb Charade are being played between bouts of promotion on cars and flights in several cities across the country. Akshay and Katrina have hired a private plane for the 12-city 25-day tour.
“So we get a lot of time to play Dumb Charade. By the time the promotions for Tees Maar Khan are over, I think I’ll be an expert on Bollywood trivia,” Katrina has her fingers crossed.
The education works both ways. While Akshay acts out scenes from Hindi films during Dumb Charade, Katrina mimes magical moments from Hollywood films for Akshay.
“So I guess we are both learning on the job,” she chuckles.
Sunny Deol to copyright his voice?
What makes a star a star? Is it his looks, his acting skills or his power at the Box Office? Well, for Sunny Deol, apart from all this, it’s his voice that stands out the most. Not too long, ago it was Amitabh Bachchan who was gung ho about copyrighting his voice, now we hear that Sunny is also following suit.
Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the actor whose film Yamla Pagla Deewana is all set for release is intent on getting his vocals copyrighted. Though the star is currently busy with the promotions of his film, it is said that he will be going ahead and acquiring the copyright once his film is released.
Hrithik Roshan down with malaria
It’s an important week for Hrithik Roshan as his big film Guzaarish releases this Friday (Nov 19) but as luck would have it, Hrithik has fallen ill. The actor has been unwell for almost ten days now with high fever and body ache and it’s reported that he is suffering from malaria.
In spite of having high fever, Hrithik continued with the promotions of Guzaarish all of last week. He shot for a special episode of Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in Mumbai, and then even travelled with co-star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for a promotional tour to Dubai and London. After his return to Mumbai, Hrithik even travelled to Ahmedabad on Saturday to promote his film, but crashed immediately after returning home.
Since then, Duggu has been feeling very weak and been on bed rest for most of the time. In fact Hrithik even cancelled his trip to Kolkata for the promotions, as there was no way he could travel in this condition.
We hope the actor is back to being his fittest very soon and wish him a speedy recovery.
After Robot The Rajni, it’s Surya The Ghajini
The process to launch the superstar from Tamil films has begun. Ramgopal Varma is going all out to launch the second installment of RAKHT CHARITRA. The second installment holds a lot of significance since it stars superstar Surya in the lead. In fact, RGV has thought of a novel strategy to announce the arrival of Surya in Bollywood. Massive hoardings are coming up at strategic points in Andheri and Juhu with focus on Surya alone. However, it’s the caption that catches your attention: ‘After Robot The Rajni, it’s Surya The Ghajini’.
It may be recalled that Surya had enacted the main lead in the Tamil version of GHAJINI, which was remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan. In the coming 21 days, the promotions of RAKHT CHARITRA 2 are only going to go bigger and better.
John Abraham sentenced 15 days imprisonment
Jhootha Hi Sahi is just around the corner for release and news surfaces, that the lead actor John Abraham has been sentenced to 15 days imprisonment. The first thought is whether this is a publicity stunt or is this for real… Well, seems like its true.
In April 2006, John was involved in a road accident where he apparently rammed his bike into a cycle thus injuring two people. However, the actor who hurt himself in the incident took both the injured men to a hospital for medication.
The verdict for this case of rash and negligent driving was declared yesterday which sentenced John to 15 days simple imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs. 1500 considering his act of responsibility towards the two injured people. However, the actor acquired bail immediately and continued the promotions for his upcoming film.
10 ministries be exterminated by January, 2011: PM
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that 10 federal ministries would be exterminated by January, 2011. He added that the government does not want a confrontation with the judiciary. Nothing would happen on 13th October, he said.
Talking to journalist in Islamabad the Prime Minister said that judiciary wants democracy to nourish and flourish. He said that those who dream and prophecy of the dismissal of government, would be disappointed. Situation is not disappointing like that of 1980s and 1990s, he added. Prime Minister expressed the governments desire to see the institutions develop and gain strength. He further said that he does not enjoy the power of appointing chairman NAB. PM told that he counseled with Raza Rabbani on the issue who briefed him that chairman NAB is not a constitutional designation; in fact its the prerogative of the President to appoint chairman NAB. PM also told the journalists that the government is patronizing meritocracy and the promotions given to the officers today are symbolic of this stance.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gialni has approved the promotions of 29 top bureaucrats including his Principal Secretary Nargis Sethi from grade 21 to grade 22.
PM Gilani chaired the Central Selection Board meeting on Monday.
Promoted officials including Punjab IG Tariq Saleem Dogar, IG Motorway Waseem Kausar, Chairman CDA Imtiaz Inayat Elhai, Chairman FBR Sohail Ahmed, Special Secretary Finance Abdul Wajid Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Sami Saeed, Chief Secretary KHyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ghulam Dastagheer, IB Chief Javed Noor and IG Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Fayaz Ahmed Toor. Police Officers Of Lahore Involved In Crimes
A new report has revealed that at least half of Lahore Police officers are involve in crimes of different nature. Twenty eight thousand policemen are serving in Lahore Police of whom seventeen thousand two hundred and thirty four policemen have been convicted for crimes including abuse of power.
Policemen have been suspended from their position or sent to forced leave due to involvement in crimes. Those suspended include one inspector, 19 sub-inspectors, 42 ASIs, 13 head constables, 566 constables and 88 traffic wardens. The policemen sent on forced leaves include 1 inspector, 8 sub-inspectors, 1 ASI, 3 head constables and 11 constables. The policemen demoted include 26 inspectors, 57 sub inspectors, 20 ASIs and eight head constables.
Rana Sanaullah said the Police department has no fault. Rana said the appointments in Police during the past were done on the basis corruption, consequently the Police department is performing poorly. He added that the Punjab Government would ensure that all the appointment into the Police department was done on merit.
Rana added that he has instructed the Police leadership not to tolerate acts of ill disciple. “We won’t leave the public on hands of criminals,” Rana added.
Rana informed that any Policemen found guilty of employing means of excessive torture would be dealt under act of terrorism and officers involved would not be given bail.
Justice Javed Says Process Of Accountability Is Not Effective
Senior Judge of the Supreme Court Judge, Justice Javed Iqbal hinted that due to the failure of the institutions, the courts have no other option except to take Suo Moto actions and no one should regard Suo Moto action as excessive interruption by the court. He added that after seeing the barbaric torture of the Police he has no desire left to join the Police department.
Addressing to participants at School of Public Policy, he regretted that the process of accountability is not effective. He said that the promotions to Grade 22 were not done on the basis of merit and thus the court had to intervene.
Justice Javed Iqbal said that when people notify the courts about the injustice than the apex courts takes Suo Moto to give justice to helpless people.
Four killed in NWaziristan US Drone Raid
MIRANSHAH, Pakistan News: Four persons were killed and one injured in US spy aircraft attack in Tappi area of North Waziristan tribal region, sources said.
US drone fired missile at a vehicle in the tribal region.
