Nation Should get Inspired by Women Crickters, says CM Punjab
Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that national women cricketers have performed marvelously despite terrorism and other challenges that the country is facing , trendpk.Com reported on Tuesday. The CM also said that the wole nation is proud of its women’s cricket team and that the nation should get inspiration from the team.
Speaking at the banquet arranged in honour of the women cricket team, CM said that women cricketers have proved by winning Gold medal in the Asian games that they are gaining immense and pacy successes in all fields of life. The CM Punjab announced to arrange a ground and an academy for the team while he also gave Rs. 400,000 and shields to all the members of the team.
Shahbaz announces compensation for flood affectees
RAWALPINDI: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif said that due to effective strategy adopted by Punjab government as well city district government Allah Almighty had saved Rawalpindi from the devastation of Nullah Leh flooding.
The chief minister visited flood hit Gawalmandi areas here and reviewed the situation. He spent some moments on Gawalmandi Bridge and left for Islamabad without talking to media. He announced reconstruction of Dhoke Hassu Bridge which was damaged by flash flood.
Punjab Chief Minister of Mian Shahbaz Sharif also announced Rs 300,000 for four persons who were killed due to flash flooding while the injured would be paid Rs 100,000 as compensation.
On the occasion, PML-N city leadership briefed Mian Shahbaz Sharif about the situation caused by Nullah Leh flood. On this he expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made by city district government to tackle the flood.
He said that in case of heavy rain, the people residing along with banks of Nullahs should be shifted to some safer places.
Upon his arrival tight security arrangements were made by blocking all the roads leading towards Gawalmandi.

The Punjab government has downgraded duties of SSP Operations Shafeeq Chaudhry, designating him as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), while CCPO Faisalabad Rao Sardar will fill in his position having been upgraded as SSP Operations.
Chief Minister was carrying a strict security cordon at Datat Darbar where he first offered Fateha at Darbar.
CCPO Lahore and the caretakers of Darbar were also present on the occasion.
CM examined the blasts sites near sacred grave after Fateha. People raising slogans questioned his absence at the time of blasts as he moved to leave shrine.

CM orders probe into Data Darbar tragedy
LAHORE: Taking strict notice of Data Darbar suicide bombings, the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Mohammed Shahbaz Sharif has ordered law enforcement agencies to investigate into heinous incident of terrorism.
CM Shahbaz issued these orders after reviewing the law and order situation in city having attended a meeting convened especially in connection with the suicide bombings.
Issuing investigation orders, Shahbaz Sharif termed attackers on Sufi shrine of Data Darbar as open enemies of Islam and humanity alike.
“Security measures be made stringent”, he ordered adding, “Better medical facilities should be assured to injured persons.”
11 militants perish in Kurrum blitz
PARA CHANAR: At least 11 extremists have been killed and another four sustained injuries in security forces’ offensive carried out in Kurrum Agency on Tuesday morning, Geo news reported.
According to sources, security forces launched bombardment on militants’ vehicles in response to intelligence regarding presence of extremists in Ghalu Ghanday area located in middle of agency, killing as many as 11 terrorists, injuring another four and shattering three jeeps.
Also, security forces have gained complete control over area, intensifying monitoring at the places adjoining to Kurrum, witnesses confirmed to media.
Nawaz urges end to conspiracies against judiciary
LAHORE: Quaid Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif has urged for immediate end to conspiracies being hatched against judiciary here on Tuesday morning, Geo news reported.
Nawaz was addressing a meeting, chaired by his younger brother and Chief Minister Punjab Mian Mohammed Shahbaz Sharif, being attended as special appearance here at Chief Minister House.
Leader of Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Senator Pervez Rasheed, Chief Secretary and Commissioner Lahore were also witnessing his address.
Senor Sharif said he was strongly against instability of state’s institutions, adding that he was in favour of politics of reconciliation to flourish.
“Our nation will never forgive us if we fail to serve them”, he added.
Gunmen storm Jinnah Hospital, 8 dead
LAHORE: At least eight people died when armed persons stormed the emergency ward of Jinnah Hospital here, Medical Superintendent said Monday.
According to Geo correspondent, two gunmen entered the emergency ward and opened fire at the injured of Model Town and Garhi Shahi attacks.
According to Geo, three to four guards and attendants are among the dead.
The firing is still underway while police have surrounded the hospital.
Gunmen kill five in Jinnah Hospital onslaught
LAHORE: Defying the early reports reached here regarding the death toll amounted at 12 persons when unidentified gunmen stormed Jinnah Hospital, the Inspector General Punjab police said a total of five persons lost their lives including a woman and three policemen while three other sustained injuries, Geo news reported.
Tariq Saleem Dogar said four terrorists were in guise of police officials wearing police uniform but they could not succeeded in either killing their associate or abducting the same in attack.
Talking to media, after the situation had been totally brought under control, IG Punjab Dogar said our homeland is currently in state of war against terrorism.
He regretted the escape of gunmen from hospital but lauded police efforts in confronting them and in making their attack futile.
As many as three police personnel martyred while another three sustained wounds during attack, he added.
Nawaz gloomy over Jinnah Hospital attack
LAHORE: Quaid Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief over deaths of innocent people in attack carried out by unidentified gunmen on Jinnah Hospital here late on Monday night, Geo news reported.
Also, Nawaz issued directives to Chief Minister Punjab Mian Mohammed Shahbaz Sharif to make sure the apprehension of terrorists involved in attack.
According to his statement issued through PML-N’s political Secretary Asif Karmani, he directed PML-N’s party workers to take active part in raising blood donations for those unlucky who were left injured amid tragic incident, sources said.
