Justice Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry has taken oath as the Chief Justice Lahore High Court at the Governor House, trendpk.Com reported on Thursday.
Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has administered the oath to him.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Law Miniter Rana Sanaullah, some cabinet members, LHC judges and a large number of lawyers attended the oath-taking ceremony.
It is pertinent to mention that Ejaz has replaced Khawaja Muhammad Sharif who got retired on Wednesday(yesterday).
Police register robbery case against a child in DG Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Police have stunned the court and people of the country by registering a robbery case against a child who is only two and a half years old.
According to details, police officials of Kala Police Station, DG Khan, registered a robbery case against three robbers in September and alleged that they attempted an armed robbery on a motorcycle and snatched mobile phones. Stunningly, one of the robbers nominated by the police was a minor, Mustafa.
When Mustafa’s father Muhammad Siddiq came to know that his little boy was nominated as a dacoit by the police, he rushed to court with the child and obtained a pre-arrest bail for him.
The police did not stop there, it replaced minor Mustafa’s name with his elder brother Muhammad Saeed.

PM vows to give houses to flood victims
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that houses would be built for 2 million flood affectees and electricity and fertilizer would be provided to those farmers having less than 25 acres of land.
Addressing a ceremony in Agricultural Degree College Gujrat, the PM said that floods destroyed live stocks and college of live stocks Gujrat should be completed at the earliest. The situation turned pleasant when Senator Nawabzada Gul said that the government has seized land of nationalized Agricultural College Gujrat. Blast in Pakpattan at Sufi shrine of Baba Farid
PAK PATTAN: At least 8 people including a woman were killed in a bomb attack after dawn prayers at the Sufi shrine of Baba Farid here on Monday, police said.
Two men riding a motorbike left a milk container near the gate of the shrine in Pakpattan, 190 kilomtres (120 miles) south of the provincial capital Lahore, which then exploded in a huge fireball, a witness said.
“We have six killed,” DCO Pak Pattan Aslam Hayat Sayyal told reporters. “The rescue work is over. We’re now investigating.
According to police 10 kilogramme explosives were used in attack on the shrine.
Sufi shrines which represent a mystical strain of Islam have frequently been the target of bloody attacks by Islamist militants in Pakistan.
In one of the deadliest strikes, a bomb blast in July at Data Darbar in the eastern city of Lahore killed more than 40 people.
Eight people, including two children were killed in an attack at Abdullah Shah Ghazi Sufi shrine in the teeming port city of Karachi on October 8.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have condemned the attack.
Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has ordered inquiry of the deadly bombing.
Shahbaz vows to thwart any conspiracy against judiciary
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said that any conspiracy against the judiciary would be a direct attack on the Constitution of Pakistan and democracy. He said that free and independent judiciary was the foundation of democratic system.
He said that attack on judiciary would be thwarted and conspirators would be dealt with iron hands. Pakistani nation gave sacrifices for the independence of judiciary and they will protect it. Talking to MPAs belonging to different districts in the CM House, he urged them to have close contacts with the people and solve their problems. He urged them to complete development project in transparent manner. Earlier, Habib Bank president Zakir Mehmood also met with the CM and briefed him on distribution of Watan Cards.
Shahbaz extends apology to Gilani over Bhutto remarks
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif telephoned Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday and regretted over the derogatory statements issued by PML-N leaders against Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
He extended his apology to the Prime Minister and PPP leadership over the remarks and said that his party leaders would be careful in the future.
It is worthy to note here that the PML-N leaders Khawaja Saad Rafeeq, Senator Pervez Rasheed and others in a gathering issued offensive remarks about PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Shah Nawaz Bhutto and President Zardari.
Earlier, Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Khoru sought apology from PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif over the remarks issued by his party man.
