Fareed Express derails near Rohri

ROHRI: Two bogies of Fareed Express derailed near Rohri Railway Station on Tuesday while it was on its way to Karachi from Lahore. The railway track between Karachi and Lahore remained suspended due to the incident. A few passengers received minor wounds.

According to railway sources, the suspension of the railway track between Karachi and Lahore will remain for a few hours. These types of incidents happen in Pakistan in winter, sources added. Trend Pk

Bomb Explodes at Tando Jam Railway Track

TANDO JAM, News Trends: A bomb blast damaged railway track at Detha near Tando Jam town of Sindh on Tuesday morning. No losses of life reported in the incident.

The railway traffic suspended after the blast. The bomb disposal squad defused another bomb device at railway track in Hyderabad.

After the blast Karachi bound Bahauddin Zakaria Express from Multan stopped away from the blast place.

A home made device used in the blast, experts said. The blast damaged a portion of the railway track.

Hyderabad: Two bomb blasts on railway track halt trains

HYDERABAD: Two bomb blasts have damaged the railway track near Sehrash Nagar on Monday and consequently all trains have been halted till the clearance and repairing.

According to railways sources, the terrorists had planted two bombs on railway track, between Kotri and Hyderabad, near Sehrash Nagar.

Both bombs blasted in the after noon and spread fear and harassment in the area. Heavy contingents of police reached on the scene and started a search operation.

The blasts damaged railway track while the traffic of trains has been stopped on the both sides of the track to avoid any possible mishap. Trend Pk

Blast On Rail Track In Quetta, Two Hurt

QUETTA: An explosion at railway track in Darakhshan area of Quetta on Saturday morning damaged two feet portion of the track.

Faisalabad bound Chiltan Express, which had departed from Quetta, had to pass the area at that time but according to railway officials the train has been unscathed. The railway has sent relief teams to the area, sources added.

Dumper kills 2 bike-riders in Karachi

KARACHI: At least two youths were trampled to death while another was injured by a speedy dumper, when they were riding motorcycle back to home after attending a marriage party in Kemari locality on Saturday, Geo news reported.

Injured youth, Zohaib, was rushed to hospital who is said to be critical in condition while the deceased youths were identified as Ramzan and Saddam.

Dumper driver succeeded to flee crime scene after the accident despite area people pursued him.

Blast on rail track in Quetta

QUETTA: A loud blast has occurred on a railway track near Sariab Road in Quetta on early Saturday, Geo news reported.

Chaltan Express was reportedly on its way on rail track when the explosion took place, witnesses said.

No loss of life was reported in explosion, sources said.

6 Rebels Killed In H-Kashmir

SRINAGAR,KASHMIR NEWS: Indian troops shot dead six suspected militants in held Kashmir, police said Friday, as rebels blew up train tracks.

The militants were killed during a fierce gunbattle in Rajouri district on Thursday, a police spokesman said, adding that the fighting erupted after Indian troops launched a “cordon and search” operation.

Meanwhile, suspected militants blew up part of the railway connecting Baramulla town in the north with the southern town of Qazigund on Thursday, the spokesman said. The track was targeted near Kakapora village, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of the Kashmiri summer capital of Srinagar.

“Two to three metres of railway track were damaged by the blast caused by an improvised explosive device (IED). The track is being restored shortly,” the spokesman said.

U.S.-Russian crew blasts off to space station

MOSCOW: A U.S.-Russian crew blasted off to the International Space Station on board a Russian Soyuzspace ship on Friday, starting a half-a-year odyssey in orbit.

Russians Alexander Skvortsov and Mikhail Korniyenko, and U.S. astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson lifted off from Russia”s Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan as planned, at 8:04 a.m. Moscow time.

Kotri Railway Track Restrored For Train Service

KARACHI: The railway track, broke down due to freight trains’ collision here, has been repaired after 15 hours of rescue efforts, Geo news reported.

Divisional Superintendent Railway Karachi Aftab Memon, talking to Geo news early on Friday morning, claimed to have repaired the effected railway track near Kotri, saying the train service on the track has been restored now.

He said the delayed trains bound to interior Sindh from Karachi will be passed on the track in first phase while the train, meant for providing helping hand in rescue work in Korti, has arrived here.

DS Railways said this mishap has adversely affected the schedules of trains and now we will leave no stone unturned to fix the delays.
