Oil extends gains in Asia
SINGAPORE: Oil prices extended gains in Asian trade Monday after a rise in US home sales stoked optimism for a firmer rebound in the world”s biggest economy, analysts said.
New York”s main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in June, rose 41 cents to 85.53 dollars a barrel. Brent North Sea crude for June was up 35 cents to 87.60 dollars.
Sales of newly constructed single-family houses in the United States jumped by nearly 27 percent in March compared to the previous month, raising hopes the recovery was gaining traction.
Sudan And Chad To End Hostilities

Sudand and Chad decided to end their proxy war and announced a joint project to develop Sudan and Chad’s common border.
Chad’s President Idriss Déby rushed to Sudan to meet his Sudanese counterpart Omar al-Bashir in Khartoum. Sudan says it is ready for a full normalisation of relations with neighbouring Chad, raising hopes of an end to the conflict in Darfur.
Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir said a visit from Chad’s President Idriss Deby had “put an end to all the problems” between the countries. Mr Deby urged Chad’s rebels, based in Sudan, to lay down their arms. In the past Sudan and Chad have accused each other of sponsoring each other’s rebel movements.
