HYDERABAD: Opener Brendon McCullum smashed a career-best 225 to help New Zealand draw the second Test against world number one India on Tuesday.
McCullum, playing his 54th Test, unleashed 22 fours and four sixes during his nine-hour innings as the tourists declared at their tea score of 448-8 on the fifth and final day of the match at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
That left India — who made 472 in their first innings in reply to New Zealand’s 350 — with an improbable target of scoring 327 runs off 30 overs in the final session.
India’s openers Virender Sehwag (54 not out) and Gautam Gambhir (14 not out) took India to 68-0 when the rival captains agreed to call off the match one hour before the scheduled close.
It was McCullum who stole the day’s show and gave the eight-ranked Kiwis plenty to cheer about as they head into the series-deciding third Test

HYDERABAD: The early loss of Sachin Tendulkar on day three compelled India to take a cautious approach as the hosts made slow progress in their first innings in the second test against New Zealand on Sunday.
Rahul Dravid (33) and Vangipurappu Laxman (31) took India to 237 for three wickets at lunch, as the hosts trailed by 113 runs in reply to the visitors’ first innings total of 350.
India managed only 59 runs from 30 overs in the opening session at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium against some disciplined bowling and inspired fielding from New Zealand.
Dravid and Laxman added 53 runs in an unbroken fourth wicket partnership after Tendulkar fell in the fifth over of the day to New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori. Tendulkar tried to break the shackles, imposed on him by some fine swing bowling by paceman Chris Martin, by dancing down the wicket to

HYDERABAD: India’s Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh picked up five wickets in the morning session on day two to trigger a New Zealand batting collapse in their first innings of the second test on Saturday.
Resuming on a strong overnight score of 258 for four built on Tim McIntosh’s opening day ton, New Zealand were 341-9 at lunch, adding just 83 runs for the loss of five batsmen in the morning session at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
In a fiery spell of left-arm swing bowling, Khan (4-66) trapped right-handers Gareth Hopkins (4) and Kane Williamson (4) leg before as he managed to get the ball to swing back from around the wicket.
Harbhajan then joined in the fun for the hosts by dismissing Daniel Vettori (11), Jesse Ryder (70) and Tim Southee (10) to foil New Zealand’s chances of setting a formidable first innings score. Ryder was the lone batsman to
Making of My Friend Ganesha 3

Titled as My friend Ganesha 3 (MFG3), the film has a stimulating effect and has garnered decent reviews from all over. Being touted as one of the best Indian 3D animated composite film, we also get to see India’s most loved deity Ganpati Bappa doing an Item number and dancing with real actors. The film boasts of casting well known Marathi actors like Sayaji Shinde, Makrand Anaspure, Himani Shivpuri, along with Baba Sehgal, amongst others.
Directed by Rajiv Ruia, the film was produced by Baba Arts and animation was executed by Radiant Animation.
Emphasizes Rajiv, on the fact that shooting a 3D composite film wasn’t as easy as compared to the 2D versions, “As a director the challenge was to frame the shots and compositing live action characters with the CG Ganesha. Let it be a Dolly, Jimmy-jib or a Crane shot, tracking was a typical task whenever the camera moved with the characters,”
Ajhai Acharya, co-producer of the trilogy adds, “We have already started pre-production for My Friend Ganesha 4 which we’re considering completely in 3D. The last film was in composited 2D and which gave us enough experience to take our next product to the international level.”
In this exclusive My Friend Ganesha 3 case study, Bollywood Hungama brings you an in-depth coverage of the making, courtesy, Baba Arts, Ajhai Acharya and Rajiv Ruia.

Siddle, Henriques out of India Series
Australia’s injury problems increased further with the news of fast bowler Peter Siddle and all-rounder Moises Henriques also heading back home. Siddle has a side strain and has been ruled out of action for a week. Henriques, the hero of New South Wales’ win in the Champions League T20 has suffered a hamstring injury. The two players are going to be replaced with 23-year-old NSW quick Burt Cockley and Victorian all-rounder Andrew McDonald. Earlier it was expected that left arm fast bowler Dirk Nannes would be the replacement for Peter Siddle. India would thank its stars that Nannes hasn’t been named as the left armer has shown his red hot pace in the IPL quite often.
The visitors had leveled the 7-ODI Series in 2-2 at Mohali. The two replacement players are expected to be ready only by the 6th ODI at Guwahati. The fifth ODI is tomorrow at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Australia will most likely have Ben Hilfenhaus come back in the place of Peter Siddle.
