KARACHI: Anxiously waiting for his return to Pakistan, fans and family members of cricketer Mohammad Amir want to see the bowler back in the national team, TrendPK reports.
The 19-year-old Amir was freed from Portland Prison in Dorset, south-west England on Wednesday after serving half of a six-month sentence for his part in the infamous spot-fixing scam.
He belongs to Changa Bangyal area of tehsil Gojar Khan where his relatives and fans want a great welcome for the superb bowler, saying that “thought he committed a mistake but we want to see him in the action again.”
“May Allah lead him to the right path now and he become beneficial for the country once again,” one of his relatives hoped.
Aamer’s family is anxiously waiting for his return. “We are happy at his release,” said elder brother Ejaz. “He talked to mother and other members of the family and was very happy at his release.”
“It was a conspiracy to entangle him in spot fixing scam. He should be excused now,” Ashraf, another relative of Amir, said.
Some of his fans are annoyed with him, urging him to seek apology to the nation. “Justice should be done for every guilty. He should face the nation and seek apology which we are sure will raise his respect,” a cricket-lover said. TrendPK
Palestinians urge Israel to free jailed lawmakers

JERUSALEM: The Palestinians urged Israel to free dozens of Palestinian lawmakers during a new round of exploratory talks held in Amman, a Palestinian official said on Sunday.
Israeli and Palestinian negotiators met on Saturday for a fourth round of discussions sponsored by Jordan and the peacemaking Quartet, which are intended to find a way to bring both sides back to direct negotiations.
But the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the meeting produced nothing new.
He said the Palestinians used it to demand the release of imprisoned Palestinian officials, including Palestinian parliamentary speaker Aziz Dweik, a Hamas member who was arrested by Israeli forces on Thursday.
“Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat gave a letter to the head of the Israeli delegation Yitzhak Molcho calling on the Israeli government to immediately release Dweik and more than 23 other Palestinian lawmakers,” the official said.
The Palestinian delegation accused Israel of arresting Dweik to strike “a blow to internal Palestinian reconciliation” between Hamas and the rival Fatah movement.
The letter handed over Saturday also called for the release of Palestinian leader Marwan Barghuti and Ahmed Saadat, the secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the official said.
A copy of the letter, which also sought the release of prisoners detained before the 1994 Oslo peace deal, had been sent to the members of the Quartet — the United States, United Nations, European Union and Russia.
Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor declined to comment on the meeting.
“Our Jordanian hosts asked us to promise total discretion on the content of the discussions before we started these meetings. We are, for our part, respecting that commitment,” he said.
The meeting on Saturday was the fourth time Erakat and Molcho have held talks on the resumption of negotiations under the auspices of the Quartet, discussions that do not appear to have yielded any agreement.
The Palestinians say Israel must halt settlement activity before they will engage in direct talks, but Israel says it wants talks without preconditions.
The Quartet said on October 26 it would seek comprehensive proposals on “territory and security” from both sides within three months, and the Palestinians say they submitted their documents before the January 26 deadline.
They have warned that without an Israeli settlement freeze by January 26, they will not continue the exploratory talks.
But Israel says it considers the three-month period to have started with the beginning of the exploratory talks on January 3, putting the deadline at April 3. AGENCIES
SRK to begin shooting for YRF after ‘Ra.One’ release

Ever since Yash Chopra announced his next film a few months ago, the wait for this film has already begun. The veteran, who directed VEER ZAARA more than seven years ago, is all set to begin his next film with Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead. This time, the respected and revered film-maker has signed A.R. Rahman to score the music of his forthcoming film.
The latest on the project is that Yash-ji is all ready with the script, but since Shah Rukh is busy with RA.ONE and DON 2, the actor has requested the film-maker to begin filming once he’s through with these two films. Of course, the veteran film-maker and the actor share close ties, hence the principal shooting of the film will commence only after the release of these two films. In the meanwhile, Rahman is expected to record the songs of this film, before the film goes on floors.
This film, one is more than sure, will be on every moviegoer’s ‘must watch’ list when its release date is announced. What say?
Shoaib Malik included in Pakistan team
The former captain will also join Pakistan cricket team’s training camp today which is currently underway at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Earlier, Shoaib Malik was cleared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) integrity committee on Friday and was eligible for selection for the national team.
Malik has not played for the national side since the controversy-filled tour of England last summer, and has been involved in a long-drawn out battle with the PCB to be cleared.
The main issue blocking Malik s clearance was certain deposits in his overseas bank account, but the PCB has said in their release announcing Malik s clearance that he was able to provide evidence that the deposits did not emanate from any questionable source or activity.

Tera Kya Hoga Johny release postponed again

It’s been a while since we saw Neil Nitin Mukesh on the silver screen and the same sentiment goes out for Soha Ali Khan. It now seems that we’ll have to wait a little more as their upcoming film Tera Kya Hoga Johny is indefinitely delayed.
Though the statements issued for the reason are “market conditions” the truth is definitely much more than just that. Major distributors have backed out at the last moment following a spat between the film’s producers over pending payments. Though the film was to release on 31st December, now the film is postponed indefinitely.
Karan Arora, a UK based businessman has filed a criminal and civil case against the film’s producer Manu Kamaran, as the cheques issued by him bounced. Arora was supposed to receive Rs.1.25 crore a month before the release of the film.
One would think, that the release date would be finalised once the payment issues are resolved but apparently distributors are not keen to release the film even if the financial matters are sorted out; reason being the film’s leakage on the internet. Manu Kumaran who was positive about sorting the payment issues by New Year and releasing the film is quite under confident about the support of the distributors, not only that he also feels that Neil Nitin Mukesh didn’t do his bit to market the film well like other actors do. Neil on his end feels that he has done his bit with the interviews he gave and with the film having an ensemble cast; it’s unfair to blame him solely.
With so many issues revolving around the film, one does wonder, Tera Kya Hoga Johny?
Vashu Bhagnani to bring ‘Faltu’ during the peak of cricket fever

Years ago, Vashu Bhagnani had released his film BIWI NO. 1 during World Cup cricket matches. At that point of time, I distinctly remember, people had scoffed at Vashu, calling him overconfident and brash. But Vashu’s calculations proved right as BIWI NO. 1 withstood the tough competition from cricket matches and emerged victorious at the box-office. In fact, back then, BIWI NO. 1 set new records at practically every centre, quashing the myth that films can’t withstand the tough competition from cricket.
The enterprising film-maker has now decided to pitch his next film FALTU during the cricket matches – during the peak of World Cup fever, next year.
Vashu has confirmed 1 April as the release date of FALTU… and this is no April Fool joke. “I have tremendous confidence in my film. It has shaped up exceedingly well,” Vashu informs me. But won’t the clash with crucial cricket matches affect the business of his film? “We will try to avoid shows which clash with crucial matches. That will ensure that the cricket matches don’t eat into our business,” Vashu says.
Meanwhile, Vashu is bringing in son Jackky’s birthday on 25 December, by throwing a completion party on 24 December yes, FALTU gets completed on this date. The music launch of FALTU will take place on Valentine’s Day next year.
Lara Dutta goes bald for Don 2?

It happened before the release of Balki’s Paa. Now it’s happening before the release of Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2. So why all this secrecy about the look of an actor? Then we ask ourselves the questions – Don’t you think if the look is revealed early, then there is bound to be more curiosity for the film? Why hide in the closet when the look is going to be out in public anyway during the release? But sadly, that’s how some desire to go.
But when it comes to exclusivity, we at Bollywood Hungama have it first for you. Hamare khufiya sutro se pata chala hai ki (Our sources from the closet have revealed to us that) Lara Dutta apparently will flaunt either bald or have cropped hair in Don 2. The source further revealed that because Farhan Akhtar is busy with his release of Game, he doesn’t want the look of Lara in Don 2 to come out too soon. Don 2 is anyway scheduled to release next year. In the days when mobile phones can capture the entire film, we wonder how Lara’s hairdo never got clicked.
So, no matter you wear a hooded jumper or cover your head with a shawl Lara. If the news about your look stands true Miss Dutta, then we have a reason to celebrate, and if not, then we’d rather shave our heads off. What say?
Australia blames U.S. for leaks, Assange in UK jail

SYDNEY: Australia blamed the United States on Wednesday for the release by WikiLeaks of U.S. diplomatic cables and said its Australian founder Julian Assange should not be held responsible.
Assange spent the night in a British jail after a judge in London on Tuesday refused to grant bail to the 39-year-old. Assange was detained after Sweden issued a European Arrest Warrant for him over alleged sexual offences.
He has spent time in Sweden and was accused this year of sexual misconduct by two female Swedish WikiLeaks volunteers. The pair’s lawyer said their claims were not a politically motivated plot against Assange.
“It has nothing to do with WikiLeaks or the CIA,” lawyer Claes Borgstrom said.
Assange has angered U.S. authorities and triggered headlines worldwide by publishing the secret cables.
Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd said the
