Quetta: A Sub-Inspector was killed and 5 other officials got injuries when a remote control bomb hit police van at Qambrani road in Quetta, trendpk.com reported on Friday.

One sub inspector was killed and five security men sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to CMH. Police cordoned off the area after the blast. DIG Operation Hamid Shakeel and Commandant Balochistan Constabulary Ghulam Shabbir visited the place of blast.

Khyber: Security forces held 25 suspects, seized explosives

Security forces nabbed around 25 suspected terrorists including some foreigners and seized suicide vests and explosive material from their possession in a search operation in Khyber tribal region on Wednesday.
The troops in a raid in Bara Shalobar area of Khyber Agency arrested 25 suspects including Afghan nationals and transferred them to an undisclosed place for interrogation. The forces captured 20 explosives laden vehicles along with suicide vests and munitions. Earlier, five troops were injured when a remote control bomb hit a security forces convoy in Bara tehsil of the Khyber tribal region. According to sources, the convoy was heading to an FC camp when it came under attack. The injured troops had been shifted to the CMH Hospital Peshawar. Security forces had cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the wake of the attack.

Security forces cordoned off the area after the blast. The injured has been shifted to nearby hospitals.

17789483f849x176 Ken Ober DiesKen Ober Dies, Ken Ober, a MTV “Remote Control” host, has died at the age of 52. The cause of his death was still not clear as of press time.

His talent agent, Mark Measures, told TV Guide his body was discovered in his home on Sunday. Suicide and foul play are not suspected and it looks like it was from natural causes.

Ken Ober’s career began in the ’80s. He had hosted five seasons of the music channel’s “Remote Control” game show, MTV’s first original non-musical program. He also fronted the channel’s “Club MTV” and “The Week in Rock.”

After his MTV stint, he went on to host other game shows, such as “Smush” and “Make Me Laugh.”

In 2002, he worked as a supervising producer on the comedy talk show “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.” He also served as a producer for the CBS sitcom “The New Adventures of Old Christine.”

Ken Ober, who was single, is survived by his mother, Claire Freeman of West Hartford, Conn.; his father, Burton, and stepmother, Iris, of Palm Beach, Fla., and a brother, Andrew, of Old Greenwich, Conn.
