South Waziristan: 5 troops killed in check post attack
At least 5 security officials were killed in an attack on check post in South Waziristan, Dunya News reported on Friday.
According to official sources, militants attacked Chobara check post in Jandola Sector in South Wazirstan.
Five security officials were killed in the attack whereas militants escaped when forces retaliated. Security forces launched a search operation after the attack.
Presidency expresses satisfaction over UN report
ISLAMABD: The president house camp has expressed contentment over investigative report of UN’s independent panel, which looked into assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto, Geo news reported.
President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said following the news conference from UN commission, which investigated Benazir’s assassination, has proved PPP’s reservations true.
We always insisted that former president Musharraf-led government was responsible for killing of Benazir, he said.
After the presentation of report, Farhatullah Babar told Geo news that his party’s stance over UN’s investigative report will come to surface after a through review of report.
HPM to observe token hunger strike today
HAZARA: Hazara Province Movement (HPM) will observe a token hunger strike in Hazara Division today against approval of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw name in the Senate.
According to HPM leaders, the protest has been delayed till April 18. A meeting of cover committee of HPM will be held in which leaders of all five districts Abbotabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Batgram and Kohistan will take part and chalk out the future’s strategy.
The leaders of Hazara Movement said that despite approval of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw name in the Senate, the people of Hazar Division are in favour of Hazara province.
Blast, firing in Quetta hospital, causalities feared
QUETTA: Blast and firing have been occurred in Civil Hospital Quetta, Geo News reported on Friday. Several causalities feared in the incident.
15 militants killed in Orakzai
PESHAWAR: Fifteen militants were killed during fresh offensive of security forces against militants in Orakzai Agency.
According to sources, militants attacked security forces in Bezoti area. Fifteen militants were killed in forces retaliatory action.
Several militants have been killed so far during security forces operation underway in the area since 15 days. Forces also took control of many hideouts of militants.
