Broadway “Spider-Man” actor walking again after back surgery
For Christopher Tierney, it must have felt like a Christmas miracle.
The Broadway actor, who plummeted from great heights during a performance of “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” walked for the first time over the weekend. Tierney had back surgery, and is expecting to regain “close to full mobility,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Even more surprising? Tierney’s family says he’s looking forward to rejoining the show that caused his serious injuries.
“They’re eagerly awaiting his return,” the actor’s father said. “He just felt so blessed to be part of this whole creative process, and he just cannot wait to get back and perform in the show.”
That will be some time, of course. Tierney is supposed to leave the hospital today, but will recuperate in New York City. He has pins an rods in his lower back that will have to be removed as he heals.
In the meantime, “Spider-Man” implemented new safety precautions, and has been accident-free since Tierney’s plunge. The show anticipates a February opening on Broadway.
Wahab Riaz Intended To Sue Mazher Majeed
Pakistani fast bowler Wahab Riaz also showed his intentions to sue Mazher Majeed after the new video in which he was telling the agent of ‘The News Of The World’ that four Pakistani players are with him. He named Wahab Riaz, Umar Akmal, Imran Farhat and Kamran Akmal. After the video was received by Pakistani media chennal two Pakistani players Imran Farhat and Umar Akmal said that they will send him a legal notice for defamation.
Young fast bowler also joined Umara nd Imran and he also decided to sue Mazher Majeed for alleging him in spot fixing. Agent Mazher Majeed told the reporter that he had given 10,000 pounds jacket to Mazher Majeed.
Pakistan is being targeted and is under allegations of spot fixing. Three Pakistani players are already suspended by ICC and it is fair that the suspension may be extended to some other players too. Pakistani players have now decided to stop giving free space to Mazhe Majeed for alleging Pakistani players and they will now take legal action against him. Kamran Akmal also showed his unhappiness on media and said that media should perform duty with in limits and they are highlighting the issue without any knowledge. he added that media should support players rather then blaming them.
Salman apologises for his remarks on 26/11 attacks; may go off Twitter
Salman Khan has always been known to speak right from his heart. Not the one to mince his words, he has got into trouble with the media a lot of times because of being either misunderstood or misquoted. No wonder then that he shied away from media attention for so long. He never trusted reporters and believed that media was always out to get him. Sometimes being called a bad boy and at other times painted as a hot headed, careless celebrity, he was always reported for his unlawful activities rather than his philanthropic acts which are many.
How is it then that he has still maintained his connect with the common man? The truth is that the janta loves Salman for the simple fact that you get what you see. Not the kind to create drama or indulge in blarney, he is the most believable star of this century who is far from being two faced.
It took a while before Salman decided to become media friendly. It took a while before he started interacting with people on shows and public forums and everyone loved Sallu for what he spoke. Be it his style, his jokes or his devil-may-care attitude. But have we drawn him back into the shell he used to be in? Have we again driven him away? The recent controversy surrounding Salman Khan does hint at just that.
In an interview to a Pakistani TV channel, the reporter asked Salman to comment on the anti-Pakistan sentiment in the country to which Salman was quoted as saying, “Everybody knew the (Pakistani) government was not behind it and that it was a terror attack.” He further went on to comment on the coverage received during 26/11 calling it an elitist hype raising a hue and cry in the entire country including state government and political parties.
But he clarified saying that, “Since it was the elite who were targeted this time on and it involved the 5 Star hotels that it was so widely spoken about. Attacks have happened in trains and small towns too, but no one talked about it so much. The attacks happened because our security failed.” The point that Salman was trying to make was that every human life is equal and should receive equal treatment. When the media painted Salman as insensitive and political parties were up in arms, he created a clarification video and put it up on twitter to get the real point across. He went ahead and said, “A terrorist has no nationality, no religion and no guts.” He apologised to one and all if anything he said or did hurt people’s sentiments while he assured his faith in the countries armed forces and intelligence.
It is sad that we time and again call ourselves as a democratic Nation with freedom of speech being part of our preamble while we render a celebrity to cut a sorry figure when he/she expresses their views. No wonder then that Salman went on twitter and posted “Next time mein apnne sub interview sub khud bhi record karoonga , kya bolte ho ? Takeh yeh sub controversies nahi ho.”
Where at one end Salman had to feel apologetic for simply stressing on equality and value of human life, his dad had to come out to the media and apologise on his behalf saying his son isn’t articulate enough. But isn’t that the exact thing that Salman’s fan love about him? But it possibly won’t last for long. The trouble his family and he had to go through on the eve of Eid thanks to the hooplah around his interview has made Salman retract from any public forum. He might just quit twitter where he enjoys a following of 400,063 fans. As he tweeted today saying “Looks like I mite have to get off twitter. Don’t want to but what to do? I think I messed up, so sorry guys, sorry bolne mein koi sharam nahi.” Hope the over reactive politicians and trouble making media is happy now.

THE fight over the use of the Four Brothers band name has taken a new twist with Frank Sibanda — the only surviving director of the band — accusing ex-Four Brothers frontman James Nyamandi of recording his latest album Zvauri Ndoo Zvauri without his consent over the name.
Nyamandi became the provisional lead vocalist of the Four Brothers following the death of Marshall Munhumumwe but was dismissed from the band nine years ago by Marshall Munhumumwe Jnr on grounds of insubordination.
However, it seems the wrangle has resurfaced with Nyamandi and Sibanda on a collision course following the release of Nyamandi’s new album under the band’s name.
Nyamandi claims he was give the green light to use the name by both Marshall Jnr and Sibanda.
In separate interviews with The Herald Entertainment, Nyamandi and Sibanda gave conflicting statements about the use of the band name.
“It’s now over between Sibanda, Marshall Jnr and me and they have given me the green light to use the name Four Brothers, that is why I recorded this album using the name of the band,” said Nyamandi when he met this reporter at Metro Studios After this revelation, Bobby (Mark Wahlberg), Angel (Tyrese Gibson), Jeremiah (Andre Benjamin) and Jack Mercer (Garrett Hedlund) track down the hired guns who killed Evelyn. Refusing to say anything, they are unceremoniously executed by Bobby and Angel. The reviws of the film was mixed with 52% of critics that were giving the film positive reviews. The reviews were based on total number of 124 reviews. This film is full of ultra violent, vigilante actions and you can see the magic of thematic direction in it.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Michael Pena and Nick Swardson are in negotiations to join the cast of the crime thriller “30 Minutes or Less The project revolves around a junior high history teacher (Aziz Ansari) and a pizza-delivery man who are forced to rob a bank when one of them is strapped to a bomb vest.
Pena is slated to play a tattooed assassin, while Swardson (“Reno 911″) will play the best friend of one of the robbers, played by Danny McBride.
The film is scheduled to begin production in the summer with Ruben Fleischer directing. Universal is distributing the Media Rights Capital production.
Pena, McBride and Ansari starred in last year’s dark comedy “Observe & Report.” Swardson will headline his own sketch comedy show on Comedy Central this fall titled “Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time.”

Shawn Johnson confirmed on Tuesday that she plans to compete in the 2012 Olympics. Johnson made the announcement at an event in Des Moines at the Iowa Events Center. Her mother confirmed to KCCI on Tuesday that Shawn plans to continue her training and compete at the 2012 games.
Shawn Johnson had surgery in February for a torn ACL and was on crutches for weeks. At the time, doctors said any gymnastic training would have to wait at least six months.

In typical Today Show fashion, there’s never enough time allotted to really get all of the information I want and need. So the reporter was rushing the Prevention lady through all of the secrets on how to achieve this flat belly that I so desire but through the hurried two-minutes I got the one main secret I needed to hear to really kick start the new flat belly me – “Sassy Water.”

Dexter Season 4 Episode 10 Preview
Dexter Season 4 Episode 10 Preview, Will be forever remembered for introducing us to the Trinity Killer shuffle (who knew that John Lithgow was that nimble?). The enigma that is Arthur “Twinkletoes” Mitchell was further unfolded as we find out the genesis for his ritual of three kills. At the age of 10, he inadvertently caused the death of his sister in the bathtub, which in turn caused his mother to commit suicide by jumping off a building. Sometime after that, his father “died,” as he put it (more like he got pummeled by a hammer as Dexter puts it). Phew, that’s a lot of take in. Is that enough to push a man to a 30 year killing spree? In Trinity’s wacky case, the signs point to yes.
Back in Miami, the investigation is heating up and we’re thrown a curve ball in our presumption that Trinity shot Agent Lundy and Deb. Besides showing off her cool scar, Deb gets an epiphany that her bullet entry and exit paths suggest a level shot (not a downward trail expected from a 6?4? assailant). That leaves us pondering just who the heck pulled the trigger. No theories other than Trinity being the shooter seem sensible. Was it someone truly the height of Masuka? Was it someone kneeling or sitting in a parked car? Was it Anton in a crime of passion? Was it the reporter Christine in a bizarre (and unbelievable) attempt to “create” news? That’s way too large a pill to swallow. But Trinity seems too easy and I’m betting we don’t have all the necessary info yet. The writers always have a bunny in their hat. And I hope it’s good, because the legacy of this season is riding on this one important reveal.
Meanwhile, the rest of the show does its best impersonation of a soap opera. Ok, so I’m exaggerating just a tad, but have your pick at which romantic thread is the most barf-inducing. Will any of these storylines (Batista / Laguerta, Rita / the neighbor, Quinn / Christine) be game-changing or will they fade into nothingness? Of course, the Quinn / Christine relationship has been a major plot driver this season and seems like it will continue to be (Deb granting Christine the interview is going to put someone in danger, whether it be Christine, Deb or Dexter). For the other two hookups, some serious repercussions can drop if they’re ever brought into the light. I’m betting that the Laguerta / Batista escapade will end with them getting caught with one getting fired / reprimanded. Meanwhile, I don’t necessarily believe that the disgruntled Rita will all-out cheat on Dexter, but that she will back away at the last minute. But, if she is caught – will this push Dexter to feelings of jealousy? Is he even capable of feeling jealous?
Oh, and before I forget – where the heck was Harry this week? Is his ghost only allowed to stay in Miami city limits? Dexter’s conscious is probably taking a break after killing the innocent photographer, so Harry is subdued while Dexter focuses on killing Trinity.
There’s only four episodes left. We’re only left to speculate based on the facts so far and what next week’s previews show. Judging by the brief glimpse, we may just have to consider Trinity’s son Jonah as the shooter, who is seemingly disgruntled at how mean his father is (yet another large pill to swallow). Regardless, the shooter has to have some connection back to Trinity otherwise it will cheapen the story of this season. Meanwhile, Rita again finds herself the target of her neighbor’s advances .
The groundwork is laid out for the final stretch and this ship could go in any direction; there’s just too many different options on the table. Buckle your seat belts, because the last 4 episodes are going to be bumpy.
