KARACHI: After increase in electricity and gas, the people of Karachi will pay Rs 4 extra per litter for milk as the Karachi Dairy Farmers Association (KDFA) has increased milk price.
The new milk price would be implemented from November 1 (Monday).
Sikandar Nagori, the KDFA president, while talking to Trend Pk on Sunday said that the food items for the cattle had gone up therefore it was not possible for the retailers and wholesalers to maintain milk price at same level for more time.
He said that no official has contacted them after this recent increase in milk price. Trend Pk
Price Of Ghee/16 Kg Up By Rs 20
Price of ghee or cooking oil per 16 kg has increased by Rs20 in the local market while open ghee or cooking oil price has increased by Rs2. According to Retailers Grocers, price of ghee or cooking oil per 16 kg in the local market has increased up to Rs1860. Price of cooking oil after March 1 has been increased by Rs40.

Nancy Benoit’s estate can proceed with their lawsuit against Hustler Magazine for publishing nude photos of Benoit after she was murdered by her husband, WWE wrestler Chris Benoit, in a murder suicide that also claimed the life of their 7-year-old son, Daniel, according to a ruling by the United States Supreme Court Monday.
Hustler published 20-year-old nude photographs of Nancy Benoit in March 2008 after the deaths gained international attention.
That decision was reversed by the Atlanta based 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in 2009.
“The photographs published by [Flynt] neither relate to the incident of public concern conceptually [the murders] nor correspond with the time period during which Benoit was rendered, against her will, the subject of public scrutiny,” the state court wrote. “Were we to hold otherwise, [Flynt] would be free to publish any nude photograph of almost anyone without their permission, simply because the fact they were caught nude on camera strikes someone as ‘newsworthy.’ Surely that debases the very concept of a right to privacy.”
The magazine, backed by journalists’ groups, said it had a First Amendment right to publish the pictures.

US Postal Service May Stop Saturday Deliveries
United States Postal Service is asking Congress to approve a five-day mail week that will eliminate Saturday delivery services, Your mailbox is going on strike.
There are more than 36,000 post offices, stations and branches in the United States, and the number of customers who use a post office is dwindling, officials say. To cut costs, the postal service has farmed out duties including sale of stamps, which now are available at more than 56,000 alternative locations, such as supermarkets, drug stores, and other retailers.
Additionally, nearly 18,000 ATMs are equipped to sell stamps.
In the 2009, officials said, nearly 30 percent of postal retail transactions took place in locations other than a post office.
All the talk about cutting Saturday delivery is preliminary, said Gary Sawtelle, the U.S. Postal Service spokesman in Tampa.
“No decisions have been made on that,” he said this morning. “It all still has to play out.”

COAS Reaches Malakand
MALAKAND: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani arrived here Friday to chair a high-level meeting on recently-completed military operation in the division.
Besides the meeting COAS would also be briefed by General Operational Commander Ashfaq Nadeem on the current status of Malakand operation and rehabilitation activities being carried out by the army in the area.
Gen. Kayani would also travel to Peeran area of Malakand where he would visit local schools, the channel said.

Sugar Price Still High in Karachi Despite all Govt Claims
KARACHI: Despite all inflated government assurances, sugar is being sold at Rs47/kg not Rs45.80/kg at wholesale marke.
Karachi Retail Market sources said the retailers are refraining from buying sugar at exorbitant prices from wholesale market, adding it would be difficult for them to sell sugar at Rs47/kg, after buying it at the same price.
The government is conducting raids to strike stability in the sugar prices, as the commodity is still being sold at Rs48 to Rs50/kg in the city.
The shopkeepers demanded the government to provide sugar at the government tariff to ensure its availability in the retail market at Rs47/kg.
