Suicide bomber kills 15 in Kohat

KOHAT:- At least 15 people were killed and scores of others wounded on Wednesday after a suicide bomber ripped through a crowded bus stand in Kohat.

The blast took place at the main bus stand in Kohat’s Tirah Bazaar area.

The dead and injured were shifted to local hospitals where an emergency was declared.

Hospital sources confirmed the demise of 15 people in the attack.

Suicide blast kills 35 in Darra Adam Khel mosque

At least 35 people have been killed and 60 others got injured when a suicide blast ripped through a mosque in Darra Adam Khel during Friday prayers.

The blast was occurred in a mosque of Akhorwal, an area of Darra Adam Khel. According to an eye witness, it was a suicide blast. The mosque has been totally destroyed while nearby houses and buildings have also been damaged in the blast. Relief activities have been started and the injured are being shifted to hospitals of Peshawar and Kohat. A number of people are still trapped under the debris but efforts are being made to pull them out. At least 50 injured have been shifted to Lady Reading hospital Peshawar.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain has confirmed that it was a suicide blast. He said that war against militants will be continued till their complete eradication.

The blast was occurred in a mosque of Akhorwal, an area of Darra Adam Khel, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to an eye witness, it was a suicide blast and the bomber blew himself up before the gate of the mosque. Whereas, companions of the bomber, who were outside the mosque, opened fire. The mosque has been totally destroyed while nearby houses and buildings have also been damaged in the blast. Relief activities have been started and the injured are being shifted to hospitals of Peshawar and Kohat. A number of people are still trapped under the debris but efforts are being made to pull them out. At least 50 injured have been shifted to Lady Reading hospital Peshawar.

Peshawar: 5 killed, 20 injured as blast rocks mosque

At least 5 people have been killed while 20 others injured when a bomb blast ripped through a mosque at Pishtakharra, Peshawar, Dunya News reported on Friday.
Several people had been offering the Juma prayers when the explosion occurred. Police said that 1.5kg explosives were used in the bomb.
According to initial reports, the bomb was planted at the mosque’s verandah. Police and rescue teams have reached the place and kicked off the relief activities.
The injured are being shifted to the nearby hospitals.
Increase in number of casualties is feared due to high intensity of blast.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain has confirmed that some three people have been killed while 20 others got severely injured in the explosion.
Mian Iftikhar termed the terrorists act a reaction against the ongoing military offensive in the northern parts of the country, adding that such nasty incidents would continue to occur till the complete flushing out of the terrorists.

Karachi grieves attack on Ghazis shrine; red alert across country

The Sunni Tehrik, along with the Jafria Alliance and Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen, announced a three-day mourning besides a call for protest over the twin suicide blasts hitting Abdullah Shah Ghazis shrine.
The toll from yesterday’s suicide attack rose to 9.
Meanwhile, in view of the bombing threat, security has been beefed up at all the shrines and mosques, Imam Barghas across the country.
Heavy police contingent are patrolling the main routes in all the big cities to maintain peace during Juma prayers.
Two suicide bombers ripped through shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Karachi on Thursday, killing at least nine people and injuring 60 others. Taliban claimed the responsibility of attacks.

Al Quds rally leader Syed Hashim Moosvi arrested

QUETTA: After failure to arrest the perpetrators of the Quetta terror attack, police arrested Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen leader Allama Syed Hashim Moosvi.

At least 68 people were killed and over 100 wounded when a suicide bomber ripped through an Al Quds rally in Quetta on September 3, 2010.

The attacked rally was being led by Allama Syed Hashmi Moosvi.

Quetta police chief, Abid Hussain Notkani, said that Allama Moosvi would be interrogated about the suicide attack.

Police alleged that the participants of the rally had reached Meezan Chowk, despite instructions not to go there.

According to police sources, apart from Allama Moosvi, two other unknown persons were arrested in connection with the September 3 attack. SAMAA

Terror strikes killed hundreds of Pakistanis in 2010

KARACHI: The government has failed to arrest the perpetrators of several terrorist attacks that claimed lives of hundreds of innocent Pakistanis this year.

In a surprising move, Quetta police Tuesday apprehended Allama Syed Hashim Moosvi, who was leading the attacked Al Quds rally in Quetta on September 3, 2010.

The year 2010 began with a suicide blast that killed 43 people in Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On February 6, a suicide bomber ripped through the main Yaum-e-Ashur procession in Karachi, leaving 33 people dead.

A total of 39 people were killed in three separate bomb blasts in Khyber Agency and Bannu in February.

In March, suicide bombers targeted Parachinar and Lahore, taking the lives of 71 people.

Similarly, 14 people embraced martyrdom after being attacked by a suicide bomber in Mingora, Swat

Apple unveils social network, new iPod and TV tool

SAN FRANCISCO: Apple has launched a music-centered social network at iTunes and unveiled slick new iPod and Apple TV gadgets that promised to win the iconic company more devotees.

Ping was built into iTunes 10 software made available as a free download at itunes.com.

“It is sort of like Facebook and Twitter meet iTunes,” Apple chief executive Steve Jobs said, referring to the world’s top online social networking and microblogging services.

BoomBoom suspend Amir agreement

LONDON: Cricket manufacturers BoomBoom have suspended their relationship with Mohammad Amir and are reviewing their position as official kit supplier to the Pakistan national side.

BoomBoom are less than halfway through a two-year deal to supply Pakistan and also have individual branding agreements in place with a number of players – including Amir.

Following the ongoing allegations of spot-fixing against the 18-year-old and a handful of team-mates, BoomBoom have decided to put their association with him on hold.
