Afghanistan: blast in Hilmand claims 15 lives

More or less 15 people have been killed and several others injured in a roadside blast in the Afghan province of Hilmand. Hilmand blast 300x157 Afghanistan: blast in Hilmand claims 15 lives

According to the official statement issued from the office of the Governor of Hilmand the blast occurred during late hours of night when a mini bus collided with a bomb fixed along the road. Official have said that the bus was destroyed in the blast and all the 15 people sitting inside the bus were killed. Officials have accused Taliban for the blast.

e2d3fdd1c4arachi Ahle Sunnat Wal Jama’at spokesman Gunned Down in KarachiKarachi: Unknown persons have gunned down spokesman of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jama’at Maulana Ahasanullah Farooqui in Guru Mandir area of Karachi. Farooquis companion was also injured in the firing.

According to onlookers, Ahasanullah Farooqui and his companion Naeem were standing on a motorcycle puncture shop when unknown persons opened fire on them, killing Maulana on the spot and injuring his companion. The dead body was shifted to Civil Hospital. Unknown persons washed the firing site instantly.

Roadside blast kills 2, hurts 3 in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A roadside blast has taken place near Shamshtu camp situated in the outskirts of Peshawar, killing two people and injuring three others, police said Wednesday.

According to the police, students of a local religious seminary are among the dead. They were on their way to homes when the bomb planted by a road went off.

Meanwhile, the dead and injured have been shifted to the Lady Redding Hospital, sources say.

Mostly Afghan refugees are staying in this camp.

014ca0e1eeinated1 Hangu: Ex Minister Ghani ur Rehman AssassinatedHANGU, Pakistan News: At least four people including former provincial minister NWFP Ghani-ur-Rehman have been killed in a roadside blast in Hangu. Interior Minister Rehman Malik has strongly condemned the incident and called for report on the incident from I.G. Police NWFP.
According to sources, a bomb was planted on the roadside that was detonated as former provincial minister Ghani-ur-Rehman’s vehicle arrived. The vehicle has been completely destroyed. Attiq-ur-Rehman told that a similar attempt was made on his father earlier also but he survived. Commissioner Kohat Khalid Umer told that the blast was target killing incident.
Ghani-ur-Rehman was politically associated with Pakistan People’s Party- Sherpao.
