All eyes on ‘Ra.One’
RA.ONE seems to be the most awaited film. Going by the discussions on the film, even though SRK is yet to release the first look of his home-production, it is evident that viewers across the globe are awaiting this SRK film for more reasons than one. The discussions across message boards/forums pertain to varied topics, right from the special effects to SRK’s look in the film to the release date of this keenly anticipated movie.
Initially slated for release in June 2011, it is speculated that the film will now release in the second half of 2011, although the producers are yet to finalize a date. That’s because the VFX will take time to achieve the desired results. In fact, Anubhav’s tweet says it all: “The VFx team and I are still figuring when we can deliver the film. Then my friends, The Producer will announce the date. But soon now…”
The question is, with DON 2 slated for release in December 2011, will RA.ONE arrive a few months earlier or a few months later? After all, there has to be a sufficient gap between two biggies starring the same actor. Even the launch of the promos should be planned accordingly, so that they don’t overlap each other.
With Rajnikant’s ROBOT setting the standards, one expects RA.ONE to go a step forward vis-Ã -vis the special effects and wow the audiences across the globe. And knowing SRK and his penchant for perfection, one is more than sure that RA.ONE will turn out to be a visual delight, at par with the Hollywood counterparts.

Yes, this is true. Acer and spiced up their e-liquid, and re-designed with Ferrari in mind, and has released a special edition of the device is called liquid-mail Acer Ferrari. The device features the red, with the Ferrari emblem on the back.
It also comes with some new Wallpapers of Ferrari, so you will be able to see the beloved Ferrari all the time. Otherwise, the device is just a regular liquid E. All we know is that the device will certainly be available in India, but I’m sure that other countries will be the device soon enough.
After Robot The Rajni, it’s Surya The Ghajini
The process to launch the superstar from Tamil films has begun. Ramgopal Varma is going all out to launch the second installment of RAKHT CHARITRA. The second installment holds a lot of significance since it stars superstar Surya in the lead. In fact, RGV has thought of a novel strategy to announce the arrival of Surya in Bollywood. Massive hoardings are coming up at strategic points in Andheri and Juhu with focus on Surya alone. However, it’s the caption that catches your attention: ‘After Robot The Rajni, it’s Surya The Ghajini’.
It may be recalled that Surya had enacted the main lead in the Tamil version of GHAJINI, which was remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan. In the coming 21 days, the promotions of RAKHT CHARITRA 2 are only going to go bigger and better.
Rajnikanth’s ‘Robot’ collect record breaking 950 million rupees in opening week

MUMBAI: Indian cinema’s most expensive movie “Endhiran” (Robot), starring former bus conductor Rajinikanth, had a record opening weekend at the box office, Bollywood analysts said.
“In the opening weekend, all the three versions of Robot have together collected 950 million rupees (21 million dollars), the highest-ever in India,” said Komal Nahta, a Bollywood trade analyst.
The sci-fi fantasy adventure, made in three languages, opened in India last Friday, with sales twice that of the previous record opener — Bollywood star Salman Khan’s recent hit “Dabaang” — Nahta said.
He expects Endhiran — which cost 35 million dollars to make — to collect a further 28 million dollars from ticket sales, as reviews have been encouraging.
A month ago, Dabaang (Fearless) grossed 10.8 million dollars during its opening weekend, surpassing Aamir Khan’s mega-hit “3
Aakrosh release shifted to October 8
Barely two days after vocalizing an ostensibly immovable determination to release their film this Friday and hardly hours after the newspapers announced September 24 as the release date, the Anjaana Anjaani team has done an about-turn on the release date.
On Monday afternoon it was decided that the film would now be released a week ahead of schedule on October 1. A huge setback for the film as it now has to compete for eyeballs with two other biggies Priyadarshan’s Aakrosh and Shankar’s Robot.
Director Siddharth Anand who had earlier stated that neither the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid verdict nor the Dabangg factor would prevent Anjaana Anjaani from releasing this Friday now has this to say about the postponement: “There are too many reasons for the postponement. The court verdict seems too much of a risk and danger to the release.”
What about the additional burden of keeping the marketing and promotion going for an extra week? Says Siddharth, “We’ve given two years of our lives to Anjaana Anjaani. What is one extra week? And the verdict (on the temple-mosque issue) is an important day for the entire country.”
The real reason for the postponement, says a source, is that neither Dabangg’s popularity nor the nation’s security bandobast (ref: the terrorist attack in Delhi on the two Taiwanese tourists) seems conducive to a favourable release of Anjaana Anjaani this Friday when the honourable court makes a historical decision.
In the meanwhile, Priyadarshan’s hard-hitting socio-political drama Aakrosh which was supposed to come on October 1 has now voluntarily been shifted by its producer Kumar Mangat by a week to October 8.
Says Mangat, “Neither the producer Sajid Nadiadwala nor the director Siddharth Anand of Anjaana Anjaani asked me to move forward. I chose to do so although it means an added burden of Rs. 1 crore to my marketing and promotion budget. But these compromises are essential in the entertainment industry. I’ve been a distributor and producer long enough to realize we all need to work in unity.”
Mangat has in fact distributed the current blockbuster Dabangg in Mumbai and is understandably upbeat about the box-office. “The decision to move Anjaana Anjaani was correct. And we couldn’t have three big films (Anjaana Anajaani, Aakrosh and Robot) on one Friday. We will now come with Mohit Suri’s Crook on October 8. Two big films on the same Friday is okay.”
Commenting on the need for producers to co-operate among themselves Kumar Mangat says, “When my comedy Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge was to release, I got to know two other big films Teen Patti and Kartik Calling Kartik were releasing the day. I requested one of them to move forward. When they didn’t oblige, I moved my film. Chalta hai. We need to support one another’s films.”
Anjaana Anjaani to release on 1st October
There was slight uncertainty which was building up around the release date of Anjaana Anjaani. Though plans for 24th September were finalised months back, the latest developments around the court verdict to be passed around 60 year-old Ayodhya title suit has apparently led to some rethinking amongst the makers. Add to that the fact that the film’s lead Ranbir Kapoor has shared his thoughts around the film’s release pretty openly has led to further round of speculations.
During one of the promotional events of the film, Ranbir Kapoor went on record to state that it was improper to release the film on 24th September since such a big national level decision was being announced on the same day. He felt that it was more appropriate to release Anjaana Anjaani a week later. Though producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Siddharth Anand were supposedly not quite prepared for such comments, they have now been prompted to give it all a rational thinking and are finally releasing the film a week later on October 1st.
Says an industry observer, “The film has heated up quite well for this Friday release. The music is hit while promotional events have been going on full swing as well. No producer would actually want to move his film ahead when so much publicity has already taken place. A week’s delay would lead to more investment in the entire promotion and publicity machinery.”
“However, what is also of utmost importance is to pre-empt the sentiments across the country on 24th September. Really, one can never be too sure about how tense the situation could be then. It is not just about UP; it is about the whole country. Security is already pretty pressed up for the entire weekend. It may not be a bad idea after all for Anjaana Anjaani to hold on for a while and let 24th September pass by”, he continues.
Now that this Ranbir Kapoor- Priyanka Chopra starrer has decided to come on 1st October, it won’t be a bad deal after all. The only major competition for the week is with Aakrosh but given the dramatic genre of this Priyadarshan directed film and hence a different target audience, it won’t be an issue for any of the two films to do well. Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Robot also releases on 1st October but again, its audience base is primarily down South.
While neither Sajid Nadiadwala nor Siddharth Anand were available for comments, the lead actors were continuing to promote the film in a business as usual manner.
Waiting for Rahman: Jhootha Hi Sahi director stranded in Chennai?
Abbas Tyrewala was in Chennai on Sunday and Monday trying to get the last bit of his much-delayed music in Jhootha Hi Sahi in place. The film is just weeks away from release date (Oct 15). And the master-CD is still not in the harassed director’s hands.
The formal music release by Saregama has been postponed until the music is ready.
But before that, a formal announcement of the music was to be made on music reality-show which was recorded on Tuesday.
The ‘master’ was to be ready latest by Monday evening, so that the director Abbas Tyrewala and composer A R Rahman could rush back from Chennai in time to record the show on Tuesday. At the time of writing the music was still not completed.
Trying to sound brave and not pressing the panic button, Tyrewala on Sunday said from Chennai, “I’ve been shuttling between Chennai and Mumbai. Staying awake since Rahman works at nights, I’ve forgotten what jetlag is. I know it’s cutting it close. We are almost done….finally! We just need to add a string section in the soundtrack. I am hopeful tomorrow it will be done and we’ll make it for the show.”
Abbas jumps to the much-beleaguered Rahman’s defence. “When you want the pinnacle of excellence, in the quality of songs in your film that only Rahman can achieve, then you’ve to be prepared to be patient. Yes, I have had to wait. But it’s been worth it. Rahman has composed 7 songs and 2 re-mixes. That’s a total of 9 tracks.”
As for the delay, Abbas defends, “What can Rahman do if suddenly three films are all up for release at the same time, my Jhootha Hi Sahi, Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours and Shankar’s Robot are all being readied for release at the same time. Have a heart. Bachche ki jaan logey, kya?”
what time does halo reach beta start

Today’s Halo Reach Beta download release is highly anticipated by video gamers everywhere. It’s the preview and precursor to the upcoming release of the Halo Reach official game in September 2010. The new multiplayer campaign will be available for Halo ODST owners to download 5/3/10 and includes four new maps: Swordbase, Powerstation, Overlook and Boneyard. Many are wondering what time does Halo Reach Beta start?

When does the Beta officially begin?
ODST owners will be able to access the Reach beta “late morning” PDT on Monday, May 3rd. Just put your ODST campaign disc in and select the Reach Beta menu option.
“Late morning?” Can’t you tell us the exact time?
Late morning (Pacific Daylight Time) is as exact as we can get right now. As soon as the switch is flipped and the beta is active, we’ll be sure to spread the word.
Apparently, some people have already been testing the game out. The game maker Bungie gave away a bunch of beta codes on behalf of Microsoft and also in a “friends and family” promotion. Bungie gave out codes to reward loyal players of the Halo 2 game.
While there isn’t an official time given, some websites are speculating the beta download will begin at 10AM PST or 1AM EST. To get the download you’ll of course need the Halo 3: ODST disc. Once the disc is inserted you’ll be able to access the beta through the extras menu.

Activision, a video game giant which is owned by Activision Blizzard, made a big step Thursday with the signing of a deal to publish the next franchise from Halo developer Bungie.
“The scope and the ambition of what we’re planning is much greater than the scope and the ambition of Halo,” said Joseph Staten, Bungie design director to the Wired.com. This statement aimed to follow the Thursday’s announcement of a 10-year contract that gives Activision exclusive publishing rights to the new videogame series that Bungie is creating. “I think we’re all eager to go on and go bigger than we’ve ever gone before,” Staten continues.
This partnership is formally intended to last 10 years. It means that Activision, will possess the rights to publish several iterations of Bungie’s next franchise. After getting a huge success of the various Halo games, this company have successfully generated more than $1.5 billion in 
sales, this exclusive deal to publish Bungie’s next series of games then becomes a very big win for Activision. Activision would be able to beat its competitor, Electronic Arts.
