It appears as though Selena Gomez is finally over her good girl image at least when it comes to the television screen. The 19 year old is going to have a part in an upcoming movie that will have all of her fans surprised. It will be nothing like her role played in Wizards of Waverly Place.

Selena Gomez is expected to complete her world tour in South America in about three more weeks. Once she has returned to the States she will be in Florida with the indie filmmaker Harmony Korine. They will be working on the movie Spring Breakers which will also feature, James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens, and Emma Roberts.

The three actresses will play the role of friends who decide to rob the bank in order to pay for their spring-break vacation. Selena Gomez will be playing the role of a character by the name of Faith.

Selena Gomez has indicated that the character she plays is more tamed out of the three. However, she also admits that she does get a little crazy every once in a while. When they are on spring-break the friends get into just about everything. They party, drink, and even go to jail.

Committee formed to probe Jamaat’s role on Neemobaz project

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Water and Power has set up a committee to question former Water Commissioner Syed Jamaat Ali Shah for his role in India’s Neemobaz power project.

Shah is facing charges of cooperating with India on Neemobaz power project.

According to officials, a notification has been issued regarding the formation of a probe committee. The committee will present its report within 45 days.

Wapda Secretary Imtiaz Tajor, in a report, had blamed the former Water Commissioner for not informing concerned officials about Indian power project and related matters.

Officials say the plant will become operational in July this year due to negligence of Jammat Ali Shah.

Shah was made an OSD after start of investigations against his role. He had left for Canada in November last year. TrendPK

Anil Kapoor and John Abraham signed for Shootout at Wadala

Sanjay Gupta is back to direction after a gap of almost 5 years (he last directed Sanjay Dutt-John Abraham starrer Zinda). He is now back with a bang with Shootout At Wadala, sequel to his own production- Shootout At Lokhandwala. The film is produced by Gupta’s White Feather Films in association Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures. Like most of his films, Shootout At Wadala too is a multi-starrer and the filmmaker has already managed a coup of sorts by signing Anil Kapoor and John Abraham as the main leads.

John Abraham will be playing the role of dreaded gangster Manya Surve while Anil Kapoor will be essaying the role of ACP Isaque Bagwan, Mumbai’s first encounter specialist. Besides Anil and John, there is also speculation that Vidya Balan has been approached for an important role and the actress is likely to give her nod.

Shootout At Wadala goes on floors early next year. Crime journalist S Hussain Zaidi has written the script for the film. The film has a top notch technical crew with the likes of Allan Amin, Resul Pookutty, Milap Zaveri and Sabu Cyril heading the action, sound, dialogues and art direction departments respectively.

Raveena Tandon to romance younger man in Shobhana 7 Nights

There is good news for all Raveena Tandon fans. The actress, who made a comeback after five years with Bbuddah… Hoga Terra Baap, has been signed to play the lead role in Shobhana 7 Nights, where she plays the character of a battered wife who finds solace in a younger man. Shobhana 7 Nights will be directed by Sudipto Chattopadhyaya, who earlier made Pankh starring Bipasha Basu and Maradona Rebello.

The film Shobhana 7 Nights, is about Bollywood’s struggling male actors, who turn to prostitution to earn an extra buck. Raveena plays a married 40-something columnist-author who is abused by her husband and finds solace in a young man who is one of the many strugglers in Bollywood. The boy becomes Raveena’s toy boy as he is trying to make ends meet.

The role of Raveena’s husband is going to be played by Rohit Roy and young boy with whom Raveena’s character gets into an intense relationship will be played by newcomer Amit Purohit.

Raveena’s first reaction was to turn down the role since the character was a bit bold and she hasn’t attempted a lovemaking or kissing scene before. The thought of doing a film where she gets into a relationship with a younger man freaked her out. But she agreed to take up the role as she was impressed with Sudipto’s earlier film Pankh and found her role in Shobhana 7 Nights very challenging.

Lisa Ray will feature as Kabir Bedi’s daughter in play titled Taj

Indo-Canadian actor Lisa Ray is ready for her first acting assignment after being treated for multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer of white blood cells that affects the bone marrow.

She will be acting in a play called Taj, alongside Kabir Bedi, in which she will be playing Jahan Ara, the daughter of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and the latter will be essaying the role of Shah Jahan.

Kabir Bedi had earlier played the role of Shah Jahan in Akbar Khan’s Taj Mahal.

Ray, who was announced cancer free in April last year, after following radical stem cell therapy treatment, expressed her happiness about returning to acting.

Taj will be staged in Toronto on 10 June, 2011.

Kangna to play Madhubala in Anurag Basu’s Kishore Kumar biopic

If all goes well, Kangna Ranaut will be playing the role of Madhubala in Anurag Basu’s next which is a biopic on Indian cinema’s legend Kishore Kumar.

Basu, who introduced Kangna to Bollywood in his film Gangster, recently had a fallout with his favorite actress as she had a problem regarding her role in Kites and lashed out against him to the media.

But all is well now and the director-actress are back to being friends.

Kangna has earlier portrayed the role of a successful film actress in Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, for which she received great reviews.

Shahid Kapoor denied permission to stay at Gwalior airbase

The over-hyped news reports about the F-16 that Shahid flew as part of his role as an air force pilot was just much ado about nothing meant to camouflage the real story about Shahid’s air force training for his role in Pankaj Kapoor’s Mausam.
The shooting started from Wednesday at the Gwalior airbase. Every attempt was made to keep the venue and the dynamics of Shahid’s air force activities a secret.
Says a source, “Permission to shoot at the Gwalior airbase has been secured after clearance from the highest levels in the Capital on condition that there would be no disturbance or disruption in the airbase routine of any sort whatsoever.”
To ensure that the Mausam crew’s presence in Gwalior was not revealed to the people of Gwalior, the entire crew has been instructed to stay at the airbase.
This is where the problem crept in. Plans to house Shahid within the airbase had to be aborted after being defined as a “security hazard”.
Says a source, “On a trial visit to the Gwalior base, it was discovered that the cadets at the airbase could not focus on their duties with Shahid in their midst. He has therefore been instructed to seek accommodation in a hotel while the rest of the crew will stay at the airbase.”
Producer Sheetal Talwar refuses to divulge any details on the whereabouts of the airbase shooting. “All I can tell you is, we are now shooting all the scenes of Shahid’s as an air force pilot in the next one week.”
These sequences form a vital part of the narrative. Director Pankaj Kapoor has worked out all the details of the airbase shooting to avoid even the smallest delay or glitch. But concealing Shahid’s presence in Gwalior is expected to be a problem.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Wants to Act Again

It’s hardly been two months since Schwarzenegger ended his role as the Governor of California and he already wants to get back to acting. He announced the news via Twitter himself.

“Exciting news. My friends at CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously. Gave them the green light today.”

He has given the green light to Creative Artists Agency, they are a leading Hollywood talent agency.

Schwarzenegger is now 63 years old and it’s fair to say that he is most famous for his role as the “Terminator”. The first Terminator film was released in 1984. His most recent role is a cameo in Sylvester Stallone’s action thriller “The Expendables”, as a mercenary leader.

His announcement puts the speculation as to whether he would upgrade to national political office or return to acting has been answered by the man himself.

Madhuri, Sonam to work together?

MUMBAI: Bollywood queen Madhuri Dixit has been offered the role of Sonam Kapoor”s mother in Anil Kapoor”s remake of Freaky Friday, an Indian daily reported.

Anil Kapoor who had recently expressed his desire to work with the dhak dhak girl, feels the actress is apt for the role, considering her versatility as an actress.

Madhuri has liked the script, but is yet to give her final nod, sources said.

The role was previously offered to Kirron Kher, but she couldn”t do the movie due to date trouble.

The movie plot revolves around mother-daughter relationship. Anil Kapoor confirmed to Mumbai Mirror, “It’s too early to comment on any of my new projects. But I would love to work with Madhuri in any capacity at any stage.”

Deepika to play Amitabh’s daughter

MUMBAI: Deepika Padukone has been selected by Prakash Jha to play Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter in upcoming film Aarakshan.

Two other leading actresses were being considered for the part. And initially, Jha even thought of casting a newcomer. What clinched the role for Padukone was her height and demeanour, reveals a source.

This will be Deepika’s first film with both Prakash Jha and Big B. Shooting begins in Bhopal soon. Interestingly, it is also the location where Jha based his last film Raajneeti featuring the actress” ex, Ranbir Kapoor.

How he zeroed in on Deepika is quite a story. “I began to flesh out the part, make it more dramatic.

That’s when I thought of Deepika in the role of Bachchan Saab’s daughter. They’re both tall and look quite like father and daughter.”
