Isha Koppikar wedding with Timmy Narang

Actress Isha Kopikar to exchange nuptial vows with her longtime beau Timmy Narang on Sunday.

The two got married at the ISKCON Temple in Juhu in a private ceremony that was attended by close family and friends. It was a traditional Maharashtrian style wedding that reportedly lasted for about four hours. Since the auspicious time scheduled for the wedding was 11am, it was a daytime wedding.

“I am very excited and I can’t wait to get married,” Narang, a restaurateur, told reporters before entering the temple.

33-year-old Isha wore a red and yellow sari while the groom was dressed in a cream sherwani.

An official from the temple is quoted as saying: “They brought their own priest and we just provided the hall and the food. They had a booking here from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.”

Susan Boyle’s album shoots straight to number 1

Susan Boyle’s album, Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle has made chart history after her debut album shot straight to number one in Britain, music officials said Sunday.

Boyle, who became a worldwide star after appearing on British reality television, has sold more than 410,000 copies of “I Dreamed A Dream” — the biggest first week sales for a debut album in British chart history. “I Dreamed A Dream” outsold the rest of the top five albums combined, including boyband JLS, Black Eyed Peas and Queen, while her cover of the Rolling Stones classic “Wild Horses” entered the singles charts in ninth place.

Boyle revealed a soaring voice behind her frumpy appearance when she appeared on the television show “Britain’s Got Talent” in April. Video of her singing “I Dreamed A Dream” from the musical “Les Miserables” on the show became a YouTube hit, with at least 100 million viewings. Although she came second to dance act Diversity in the competition, she won over fans worldwide. She initially struggled with her sudden rise to fame, and checked into a clinic suffering from exhaustion following the show.

Boyle also brushed aside suggestions last week that she was feeling the strain of worldwide attention after photographs in British tabloids appeared to show her crying and sucking her thumb at a promotional event in New York. Boyle, who has undergone an extensive makeover since becoming a star, has recently revealed that she was bullied at school and teachers failed to understand that she was a slow learner.

Mackenzie Phillips alleges that Jagger had pulled a fast one on her, Miami Herald said that they do not understand what she meant by that. Phillips also said in a teaser trailer to the video that Jagger had locked the door on her and said, “I’ve been waiting for this since you were 10 years old.”

Madonna Smashed Her Own Record For World Tour

LOS ANGELES: Madonna smashed her own record for top-grossing tour by a solo artist, but the “Material Girl” had to play more shows in bigger venues, according to data released by concert promoter.

The pop singer’s yearlong “Sticky & Sweet” world tour, which wrapped in Israel on Wednesday, pulled in $408 million after playing to more than 3.5 million fans at 85 shows.

It broke the record set in 2006 by her previous outing, the “Confessions” tour, which grossed $194 million from 1.2 million fans at 60 shows. A promoter spokesman said the previous trek featured many arena stops, while the latest one was centered on bigger stadiums.

On September 28, Madonna will release “Celebration” CD and video compilations, which will draw the curtain on her 27-year relationship with Warner Music Group Corp. In 2007, she signed a pioneering, 10-year, $120 million “360″ deal with Live Nation covering recording, merchandising and touring.

The top-grossing tour overall is the Rolling Stones’ $558 million “Bigger Bang” trek of 2005-2007, which drew 4.7 million people to 144 shows.

Jim Dickinson Died

Jim Dickinson Died, Famed record producer and session pianist Jim Dickinson died today in Memphis, TN after recovering from triple bypass heart surgery earlier this summer, Commercial Appeal reports. He was 67 years old.

Whenever the likes of Bob Dylan or The Rolling Stones needed a pianist on a track, Dickinson was a preferred player in the 1960s and 70s. He played keys on the Stones’ “Wild Horses,” Aretha Franklin’s Spirit in the Dark album, and dozens of other classic recordings. Dickinson is perhaps even better known as a record producer, having produced Big Star’s 3rd, The Replacements’ Pleased to Meet Me, Mudhoney’s Tomorrow Hit, and many more.

His sons Cody and Luther Dickinson are famous musicians in their own right as members of the North Mississippi Allstars.

“He had a great life, and he was a consummate family man,” Dickinson’s wife, Mary, said. “He loved music and his family. And he loved Memphis music, specifically.”
