At least 19 people died and several others wounded in separate traffic accidents in Punjab and Balochistan due to the ongoing spell of dense mist.

In Chiniot, a passenger bus collided with a tractor trolley, killing three people and injuring five. Similarly, eight vehicles collided with each other in Naseerabad district of Balochistan, leaving three persons dead. Visibility is down to 20 meters on Lahore Motorway. Several domestic and international flights were cancelled at Lahore airport due to low visibility.

5 killed in Karachi firing incident

Five persons including two officials of intelligence agency and one constable of Rangers were killed and four others injured in different incidents of firing in Karachi, trendpk.Com reported on Friday.

According to details, unidentified persons opened fire in Redhi Goth area of Karachi and killed two intelligence agency men named Safeer and Imdad Chandue. While near meteorologist office unidentified persons opened fire and killed a constable of Rangers named Shoukat Feroz. On the other hand, two women got injured by the firing of unidentified persons near Gulistan-e-Johar Rabia City while a 50-year-old person sustained injuries in Garden area.

Religious parties of the country on Friday staged protest across the country to condemn the amendments in the blasphemy laws, trendpk.Com reported.

In Karachi, JUI, JUP, Jamat-e-Islami and other religious parties staged a protest and blocked the rods from Nimaish Korangi to Jamia Hanoori. While in Lahore protesters marched from Regal Chowk to Punjab Assembly. Former Jamat-e-Islami Ameer Qazi Hussian Ahmed addressing Peshawar said that no one can make amendments in blasphemy laws. He said Pakistan is an Islamic country and all laws should be Islamic.

Lahore: Drunken car driver injures a police constable

A drunken car driver injured a police constable who tried to stop him near a check post in Lahore, trendpk.com reported.

According to police, Constable Nasir Javed of Muhafiz Force was on a routine patrol when he saw a dangerously over-speeding car and tried to stop it. The drunken car driven hit the police constable making him suffer serious injuries, and after that he too lost control and his car got turned over. The drunken driver, Muhammad Sajid, left his car and fled the scene.

The injured constable is said to be critical in hospital.
