Shah Rukh Khan hits Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutts party

It was a fight that had a long history to it. On Sunday night-Monday morning at Aurus in the suburbs of Mumbai, Sanjay Dutt hosted a party to celebrate the success of his Kancha role and Agneepath.

Guests were having a ball when at around 4.30 am Shah Rukh Khan entered the venue straight after the Filmfare awards with three bodyguards. According to eyewitnesses, he was apparently in an inebriated condition.

Soon, he headed towards filmmaker Shirish Kunder and roughed him up.

Says an eyewitness, “We didn’t know what was happening. We saw SRK enter. Then we saw him head towards Shirish from behind the director. SRK pulled Shirish down to the ground by his long hair. We were all shocked. We had never seen SRK behave this way before. Before anyone could react, Baba Dewan, the owner of Aurus ran in and intervened. SRK told Dewan to keep out. Dewan said the place belonged to him and he must intervene. The fight would’ve been prolonged had Sanjay Dutt not pulled SRK away from the ugly scene.”

The shell-shocked Kunder apparently left immediately. We tried to probe the cause for Shah Rukh’s provocation.

Says a source close to Kunder, “Shah Rukh was smarting since Kunder made a sarcastic comment on SRK’s Ra.One when it released. But the immediate provocation was apparently a comment that Kunder made about SRK and Priyanka Chopra at the party that SRK overheard. But that is hogwash. Kunder didn’t say anything about Priyanka. Why would he? Everyone was there to celebrate a success, not to create ugliness. “

Kunder and Shah Rukh have a history, of course. Kunder’s wife Farah Khan was one of Shah Rukh’s closest friends. They fell out a year back. Kunder, we believe, faced the brunt of SRK’s pent-up wrath at Dutt’s party.

Farah who was shooting all night for Bela Sehgal’s Shirin Farhah Ki Nikal Padi got to know of the fight only when she returned home in the morning.

Shocked and hurt Farah says, “Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem, and that it means the person who’s hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on. It saddens me to see him doing the same.”

A theory doing the rounds is that Sanjay Dutt too joined Shah Rukh to bash up Shirish Kunder.

Rubbishing this rumour, Dutt clarified, “I didn’t join in the fight. I sorted out the fight between Shah Rukh and Kunder.”

Kangna all set to break free post Rascals?

Kangna may well be counting days till the release of Rascals post which she would be glad to break free. The Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn starrer hasn’t really left a good taste in her mouth

and with the makers clearly putting the film’s (distant) second lead Lisa Haydon much ahead of her; picture is quite clear on the wall. However, the end is

not as near as it seems. Reason being that Kangna still has one more film with Ajay Devgn – Tezz – up for release and there is still a sword hanging

on her neck, what with Sameera Reddy as another leading lady in the film, ready to hog all the limelight.

“Kangna has been quiet through all this mayhem and that has been with a reason. However, she would be on her toes when it comes to Tezz. No one can be

sure of how this Priyadarshan directed film works for her. Perhaps everyone would get an answer depending upon how she is treated in Rascals once the

film releases this weekend”, says a source who has been closely following Kangna’s career journey during last few months.

Though Ajay Devgn is hardly known for playing games when it comes to his films, one suspects if there would be other influences that may could be creating a

sense of apprehension for Kangna. In any case, she has competition in the form of Sameera Reddy who has worked with Priyadarshan before as a female lead in

De Dana Dana and an item girl in Aakrosh.

“Anything is possible”, the source continues, “Look at Lisa, she was a nobody when signed for Rascals and today she is almost being projected as the main

female lead. On the other hand, even though Kangna is a much bigger name and was signed for this very reason in Tezz, Sameera’s promotion for the film

has been on full swing for so many months. Makers have a ready female protagonist up there to be promoted as a main lead if the need arises. Obviously Kangna

can’t take it easy.”

For a multi starrer action thriller which in any case is testosterone driven with Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Zayed Khan arriving with a mighty punch,

Mohanlal along with Boman Irani expected to add on to the drama and Sameera Reddy turning a biker girl with quite a fare dare devil stunts to her name, one

just hopes that Kangna’s worst fears don’t really come true.

Once a hot favourite with Sanjay and Ajay, Kangna could well be looking forward to her newer bunch of films like Miley Naa Miley Hum, Dedh Ishqiya and

Tanu Weds Manu Season 2. And then there is Sunny Deol starrer I Love New Year that should be released soon and may just about begin a New Year,

professionally at least, for Kangna.

Karisma Kapoor to play Hema Malini’s role in Satte Pe Satta remake

Sanjay Dutt, whose first production Rascals is due for release next week, is all set to go on floor with his second production which is the remake of 1982′s Satte Pe Satta, in December. Satte Pe Satta will be directed by Soham Shah, who has earlier made Kaal and Luck.

Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing the dual roles of Ravi and Babu which were played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original and Karisma Kapoor, who is making her Bollywood comeback with Vikram Bhatt’s project Dangerous Ishq, will be cast opposite him.

Kajol was the original choice for the role played by Hema Malini in the original but since she just delivered a baby, Sanjay didn’t want to pressurize her to return to the studio. Sanjay then approached his Lagey Raho Munnabhai co-star Vidya Balan for the role but she was busy with her other assignments. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also offered step into the shoes of Hema Malini, but she got pregnant. There were also talks of Madhuri Dixit Nene being approached for the same role but finally they decided on casting Karisma Kapoor as she is a fantastic actress and suits the role perfectly. Sanjay Dutt is also planning to request Amitabh Bachchan to introduce the characters in the remake.

Sanjay Dutt gifts bike worth Rs. 25 lakhs to Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday celebrations made headlines for the guest list of invitees who arrived at the do. However Sanjay Dutt, who has earlier proclaimed his affinity for the young star, made a dashing entry at the party to present the birthday boy with a special gift.

Dutt presented Ranbir with a red Harley Davidson bike worth approximately Rs. 25 lakhs. The two actors have been neighbours for years now and while Ranbir looks up to Dutt as an idol figure, Dutt has more than a liking towards him post offering him the lead role in the remake of his father’s film Mujhe Jeene Do.

So, the next time you see Ranbir zooming in and out of Pali Hill in a brand new bike, you know it’s given by none other than the Deadly Dutt.

Amitabh Bachchan and Prakash Jha to launch the promo of Rascals

We have all seen stars promoting their movies before the release of their film but have you ever heard of a film promoting another film?

For the first time ever the first look of a movie will be unveiled by the team of another movie! On Thursday 11th August, the team of Aarakshan consisting of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and director Prakash Jha, will be unveiling the first promo of Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn starrer Rascals at a suburban multiplex.

Never before in the history of cinema has there ever been such a cross promotional activity. Mr. Bachchan ,who is quite close with Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn, willingly agreed to be a part of this promotional activity after a single phone call from Sanju baba who is also producing this film.

In fact Sanjay Dutt’s father, the late Sunil Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan had a great relation! Hence the association with the Dutt-Bachchan family goes way back. The director of Rascals, David Dhawan, too is quite excited with this development as he too has worked with Mr. Bachchan in movies like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Hum Kisise Se Kum Nahi.

Prakash Jha was more than happy to unveil the first look of his favorite actor, Ajay Devgn’s, new movie. After all, both have worked together in many successful films like Gangajal, Apaharan and Raajneeti.

Producer Sanjay Ahluwalia and Vinay Choksey will also be present at the event. Rascals hits theatres this Dussehra.

Madhuri to star opposite Sanjay Dutt in Satte Pe Satta remake

After months of speculation on who would star opposite Sanjay Dutt in Satte Pe Satta remake, the official announcement has now been made and it’s none other than Madhuri Dixit who has bagged the coveted role.

While Sanjay Dutt will reprise the role played by Big B in the original cult classic, Madhuri will be seen in the character played by Hema Malini in the original. It may be recalled that Madhuri and Sanjay have been part of several hit films in the past such as Saajan, Khalnayak and Thanedaar. It will no doubt be interesting to see this jodi re-create magic once again on the silver screen.

Satte Pe Satta remake is being directed by Soham Shah and produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. in association with Sanjay Dutt Productions.

Rana Daggubati replaces Abhishek Bachchan in RGV’s Department

After sharing screen-space with Abhishek Bachchan in Dum Maaro Dum, South actor Rana Daggubati has now gone ahead and replaced Abhishek in Ram Gopal Varma’s forthcoming flick Department.

RGV’s Department was to star Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan and Kangna Ranaut in lead roles but now the news is that Rana Daggubati has been signed for the part which was originally to be played by Junior Bachchan.

Ramu even confirmed the same on Twitter and said, “Due to date problems to match combinations with other actors I am going ahead with Rana Daggubati instead of Abhishek Bachchan in Department.”

While the filmmaker cites the common date issue as the reason, one wonders what’s the real reason behind Abhishek’s ouster from the film? Has it got to do with the poor performance of AB Jr’s last few films or has there been a fall out between Abhishek and Ramu, especially after a tabloid recently carried a story of Ramu sending out negative SMSes of Abhishek’s recent release Dum Maaro Dum. Your guess is as good as ours.

Ash to play Sanjay’s wife in Satte Pe Satta

MUMBAI: The rumour has it that Sanjay Dutt wants to have Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on the lead opposite him in Satte Pe Satta remake.

If all goes well, Aishwarya Rai will play Sanjay’s wife in the film. “We don’t know how the rumour started that Vidya Balan had been signed to play Sanju’s wife in Satte Pe Satta. Nobody even approached her. Dutt is extremely keen that we sign Aishwarya to play the female lead opposite him. He is adamant that only Ash fits the role. The actress is keen on the idea of doing the film if everything else works out,” a source disclosed on Friday.

The bollywood diva, Aishwarya Rai, had earlier worked with Sanjay in David Dhawan’s Hum Kisise Kum Nahin and Leena Bajaj’s Shabd.

Rascals stars Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Kangna feature in Salman Khan’s Ready

Friendship in Bollywood is as famous as enmities and grudges. But, when it comes to the eternal superstar Salman Khan, the first thing that pops up is his friendship towards one and all (baring a few) and vice versa. And when Salman Khan requests, no one says ‘no’.

Salman recently invited a pack of ‘Rascals’. Before you start designing thoughts in your mind, let us inform you that we are talking about Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Kangna Ranaut, the trio who play the lead in David Dhawan’s Rascals. What happened was that, while the trio was shooting for Rascals in Pattaya, they got a call from Salman, who wanted them to do a cameo in Anees Bazmee’s Ready in Bangkok. Needless to say that, the trio immediately agreed!
Now, do not be surprised to see the team of Rascals doing their act in Ready, with Salman Khan.

Sanjay Dutt to make small screen debut

After the Khans and various other Bollywood celebs, it’s time for Sanjay Dutt to make his presence felt on the small screen. Sanju Baba will soon be hosting a new show on TV.

trendpk.com has learnt that despite earlier rumours that Dutt would be replacing Salman on the popular show ‘Dus Ka Dum’, the fact is that he be hosting a brand new show. However, details about the show are still a bit sketchy.

Confirming this Sanjay’s spokesperson says, “Yes Sanjay, will soon be seen on the small screen but right now I cannot give out much details as we are still in talks with a couple of channels. Besides this, we have not yet locked in on the show, as that aspect of the deal is also being worked upon.”
