Water level shoots up in Manchar Lake

DADU: Water level in Manchar Lake, situated near Dadu on the Right Bank Canal reached an alarming level on Monday with more water pouring into the lake, causing threat to Sehwan Airport and PARCO oil company.

Water level in the biggest sweet water lake, located in the north of province, has reached a dangerous level and two feet water capacity left in the lake as Manchar lake has the capacity of 121 feet while the water has exceed 119 feet due to continuous increase in water.

The rising water level in lake increasing pressure at safety embankment, while the iron sheets at Main Nara Valley Drain (MNVD) Zero Point have also washed away.

The flood water has created four breaches in different areas at Main Nara Valley Drain (MNVD) which local residents and army trying to close.

The water overflow in lake has inundate almost 40 villages.

LEEDS: Captain Shahid Afridi called for the review system to be introduced into one-day internationals but saved his strongest criticism for Mohammad Irfan after another loss to England.
