South Africans collapse after Kallis half century
NORTH SOUND: Star batsman Jacques Kallis hit a half-century to help South Africa set West Indies 137 for victory in the first of their two Twenty20 Internationals here on Wednesday at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.
The 34-year-old struck one four and three sixes in 53 from 45 balls, as South Africa reached 136 for seven from their 20 overs, after deciding to bat on an uneven pitch.
He added 73 for the second wicket with South Africa captain Graeme Smith, whose 37 from 31 balls included three fours and one six.
Once they were separated, South Africa”s batting collapsed, and they lost their last five wickets for 16 runs from 26 balls.
The second T20I takes place on Thursday at the same venue.

Sehwag falls short of 3rd 300
Sehwag had fallen agonizingly short of a slew of world records when he scooped a simple return catch to Muttiah Muralidaran off his own bowling.
Sehwag, who went into the day needing just 16 more to become first ever cricketer in Test cricket’s more than a century old history to score three triple hundreds, fell for 293 runs in just the day’s 4th over, much to the disappointment of not only the packed Brabourne Stadium audience, but also millions of Indian cricket fans around the world.
Sehwag had recorded the second fastest double hundred and the fastest 250 during his 239 ball, unbeaten 284 runs yesterday, lasting 254 balls for his masterpiece that was laced with 40 boisterous boundaries and 7 sixes.
Sehwag’s dismissal also brought curtains to the Rahul Dravid-Sehwag association that yielded 237 runs for the second wicket in just 43.1 overs.
