Adriana Lima was discovered while at a local mall at the age of 13. She finished in first place in a Ford Supermodel of Brazil model search. Lima later followed with a second place finish in the 1996 Ford Supermodel of the World contest.Shortly after, Lima moved to New York City, and eventually moved on from Ford, signing with Elite Model Management. Her early career consisted mostly of fashion editorial work (with early appearances in international editions of Vogue and Marie Claire in 1997/1998), as well as runway work (Christian Lacroix, Valentino, and others). Lima’s first big break came when she was featured in a Vassarette billboard in Times Square. Her print career followed, and like many other famous names (Claudia Schiffer, Laetitia Casta, Eva Herzigova), Lima became a GUESS? Girl in their 2000 Costanoa and has face campaign.
Lima continued to build upon her entry, doing more print work (Maybelline, bebe, Mossimo, BCBG) and gracing the cover and editorials of more high fashion magazines (Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE). Probably best known for her Victoria’s Secret work and Angel status (along with Heidi Klum, Gisele Bündchen, and Alessandra Ambrosio), Lima first graced the VS runway in 2000, and was the show opener for the 2003 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
In 2001, Lima starred in BMW Films short, The Follow alongside actors Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, and Forest Whitaker. In the film, Owen’s character is hired to follow Lima’s, who is suspected of cheating on her famous husband, played by Rourke. The film had a runtime of 8:47 including credits, was written by Andrew Kevin Walker, and directed by Wong Kar-Wai. Lima made it clear that acting is not her priority and that she only did The Follow because it was a short film.

Daul Kim found dead,South Korean model Daul Kim was found dead in her apartment in Paris, She had only 20 years.
According to reports it is apparent suicide, but the cause of death is not yet confirmed. Her Seoul agency, Esteem, said her family and agency officials were heading to Paris.
Daul Kim had a blog where on Oct. 30 she wrote: “mad depressed and overworked, the more i gain the more lonely it is … i know i’m like a ghost” and her last entry was on Nov. 18 and was titled “say hi to forever” and had attached a video of the song “I Go Deep” by British singer Jim Rivers.
Ms Kim has made appearances at fashion weeks around the world, modelling for leading designers, including Chanel and Alexander McQueen.
South Korea has the highest rate of suicide among the 30 nations belonging to the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development.
There have been a string of high-profile suicides in the country during the past year, including that of former President Roh Moo-hyun in May over a corruption scandal.

Heidi Klum runway after baby, Heidi Klum made a surprise appearance on the runway at last night’s annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The German supermodel wowed the audience as she took to the catwalk just six weeks after giving birth to her fourth child, Lou Samuel. Despite feeling a little unwell before the show, Australia’s Abbey Lee Kershaw left a wonderful impression on the runway with Jak and Jil Blog claiming hers the “best runway presence” of the night. British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley made her VS debut also helping to close the show, before the rest of the models including Chanel Iman, Doutzen Kroes and Miranda Kerr reappeared on stage for finale and a bit of a boogie. Featuring five different sections with 12 outfits each, live performances were provided by Black Eyed Peas, with Fergie bringing down the house in an emerald green ensemble.

Victoria s Secret Fashion Show, Heidi Klum and her baby’s body later led the fashion parade at the annual Victoria’s Secret, who returned to New York with some new faces, after four years on the road.
The lingerie retailer admitted five women to his “Angel” Ranks – a designation reserved for top models – in front of a packed house Thursday night at the Lexington Avenue Armory. Are Emanuela de Paula, Chanel Iman, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Lindsay Ellingson and Candice Swanepoel.
But Klum, who gave birth to a daughter five weeks ago, was the crowd favorite in purple corset covered with a tunica media with poufs of tulle. He left the huge set, a castle of applause.
Musical guest Black Eyed Peas – especially Fergie, the only female member, dressed in black, costume jewelry – was another crowd-pleasing. Fergie came out later in a corset dress green.
