Islamabad, Pakistan: Aitzaz Ahsan Snubs Rumors of his Becoming PM Gilani, Pakistan People’s Party leader Aitzaz Ahsan has rebutted the news of his becoming the prime minister. Ahsan maintained that President can be tried under criminal act when he relinquishes office. Talking to media in Islamabad Ahsan opined that corruption and treachery both were serious offences but treachery was bigger offence than corruption. “Law is the same for everyone however it isn’t appropriate to accuse someone without evidence,” Ahsan added. He suggested that an independent and free institution should be established for accountability. “President is exempted from appearing before court under the constitution,” he asserted. Aitzaz Ahsan told he was still a suspended member of CEC.

Baloch Leaders Reject New Package
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Baloch Leaders Reject New Package, Baloch leaders have rejected the “Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package”, declaring it a linguistic game.
The session under chairmanship of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has approved the name Aghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan for Balochistan Package and decided to continue consultation on the package.
A statement issued from Prime Minister House has said that Senator Raza Rabbani briefed Baloch parliamentarians about Balochistan Package in the special session called by the prime minister. Baloch parliamentarians in the attending the special session have labeled it a linguistic game. They were of the viewpoint that the package does not have any new facilities or benefits for Balochistan. They said that the government should move beyond the recommendations prepared earlier. They demanded the government to change the IG Frontier Constabulary and deploy a Baloch official. They also demanded to stop unannounced arrests of Baloch leaders and immediate recovery of missing persons.
