ISLAMABAD, trendpk: All is set to observe the 3rd death anniversary of former prime minister and former chairperson Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) .
The major events of the anniversary will be held at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto mausoleum Nau Dero (Larkana) where central leadership of PPP has started reaching to participate in the congregation, which is likely to be addressed by President Asif Ali Zardari.
A large number of party workers, office bearers and supporters from every nook and corner of the country are reaching Nau Dero to attend the anniversary.
Sindh government has made strict security arrangements in order to avert any untoward incident during the second death anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Quran Khawani for the departed soul of Shaheed-e-Jamhoriat will be held in all cities and towns across the country. Special programs, walks, declamation contests and seminars have been planned to highlight the services of the Daughter of the East.
Electronic and Broadcasting media will telecast special transmission to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in order to pay homage to the great leader. Benazir Bhutto, twice Prime Minister of the country, was assassinated on December 27, 2007 in a gun and bomb attack outside the Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi.

BB murder case: Court grants bail to accused officers
Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi Judge Rana Nisar Ahmed has approved the petition filed for bail of former City Police Officer Saud Aziz and former SP Khurram Shahzad in Shaheed Benazir Bhuttos murder case.
Earlier, both the officers appeared before the court and assured the latter of consistent appearance on orders and submitted Rs0.1million bonds. It merits to mention that FIA filed a petition in the court that BBs security officer CPO Saud Aziz changed her security at the eleventh hour, which caused her murder. While SP Khurran Shahzad told a court that Aziz forced him to change his duty venue.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Dr. Babar Awan has said that there was no deal between Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and former president, General (retd.) Pervez Musharraf. He said that Musharraf has begun his political career with a fake statement.
While talking to SAMAA Friday evening, the federal minister called All Pakistan Muslim League as Pardesi League.
He said that Benazir Bhutto always counted days before returning home.
Musharraf has not apologized but confessed. He should appear before court, he added. SAMAA
Margalla tragedy: Search operation continues
ISLAMABAD: Search operation at the site of plane crash in Margalla continued for fourth consecutive day on Saturday.
The officials of Capital Development Authority (CDA) handed over more human remains and luggage of ill-fated passengers to hospital and city administration. The investigation teams of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and plane manufacturer company busy in collecting information and searching for black box at the site of crash.

ISLAMABAD: The black box of crashed flight of Air Blue has been recovered from Margalla Hills, the site of crash, DG CAA told Geo News. The black box will be send abroad to retrieve the information, he added.
Over 300 killed in Malakand floods
SWAT: More than 300 people were killed and thousands became homeless as floods played havoc in Malakand Division.
Government sources said the number of flood victims exceed from 151 and 158 in Swat and Shangla respectively. The most affected areas included Bahrain, Madeen, Kalam, Kanju,Kabal and Mingora where more than 150 connecting and six large bridges, over 400 houses and 10 schools swept away. The supply of power and gas remained suspended in district Swat and local residents facing shortage of food items.
Rescue operation of Pakistan Army is underway in flood-hit areas and 2,500 people including tourists evacuated to safety. Free ration has been distributed in Kalam Valley.
At least 480 houses, 34 schools, six large and 28 connecting bridges, thousands of acres of agricultural land and a department of Shaheed Benazir University in upper Dir swept away in floodwaters. At least 63 people have been killed and 11 missing in the floods.
On the other hand, Dir-Kohistan, Dir-Chitral and Dir-Braval Highways remained closed for traffic.
Naheed Wants Review Petition on NRO Verdict
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan News: Naheed Khan, who was political secretary to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, said Monday that the government should file a review petition after a detailed judgement of the Supreme Court on the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) is announced.
Talking to media she also said she was of the view that the NRO should have been defended in the court.
‘Personally I think the government should have defended the NRO in the court by highlighting its spirit.’
Naheed said for smooth transition to democracy through free and fair elections, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had presented two points before Pervez Musharraf; either to remove the bar on a third term for the prime ministry or withdrawal of all cases which had not been decided despite a lapse of 12 years.
She said it was the PML-Q government, which chose the option of withdrawal of cases to pave the way for transition to democracy.
Naheed said that Benazir Bhutto had pledged to the nation to remove the 17th amendment and 58-2(B) and implement the Charter of Democracy in its true spirit.
Replying to a question, she said that under Article-248 of the constitution, the president enjoys immunity. However, she said the ministers and others facing revived cases should resign in the best interest of the party.
‘Once they get themselves acquitted from courts, the ministers can rejoin miniseries in a dignified manner,’ she said.
The senior PPP leader said the time had come for the party and the government to openly name the forces inclined to derail democracy instead of giving vague statements.
‘If PPP maintains unity within its ranks and file, no outsider force would be able of remove a democratic government’, she said.

No Dispute With President Over Powers: PM Gilani
FRANKFURT, Pakistan News: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that 1973 constitution will be restored to its true spirit.
Talking to Pakistani community at Frankfurt Pakistani prime minister refuted any dispute over powers with the president.
Gilani said Balochistan has been given due rights adding that there has been lack of mutual trust between Balochistan and the centre. He said his government was trying to fulfill the aspirations of Baloch people.
Gilani said that the Charter of Democracy is part of the party manifesto and the government will definitely meet the pledge made by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

Govt Keeping In View The Prevailing Challenges: Kaira
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Wednesday Peoples Party’s stance was very clear in the parliament from the day one that the government wanted political reconciliation keeping in view the prevailing challenges being faced by the country.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had promoted politics of reconciliation in the country.
He said “we cannot move forward in the atmosphere of confrontation and tension”. He said Benazir Bhutto initiated politics of dialogue with other political parties, General Pervez Musharraf and international community for restoration of democracy in the country. The minister said that as a result of this dialogue both Benazir and Nawaz returned home, election was held and an era of prosperity dawned in the country.
He said that when Nawaz Sharif demanded impeachment of Pervez Musharraf it was Asif Ali Zardari who advised him to be patient by taking other political parties into confidence.
The minister said Pervez Musharraf resigned before impeachment and without using force or resorting to violence as PPP believes in slogan of Benazir Bhutto ,” Democracy is the best revenge.”
He said “we should avoid indulging in controversies which harm the interests of the country.”
Replying to a question, he said “PPP is a part of a coalition government both in the center and provinces and they have to consult coalition partners and take them on board.”
The information minister said the prime minister had also stated that all political parties on Article 6 should be consulted for tabling consensus resolution.” If two major political take decision in their own capacity without consulting other political parties it would not be good for the parliament, democracy and political harmony in the country.”
He said their decision would have been different had the Peoples Party been ruling without coalition partners. “We have to take coalition partners on board for strengthening the democratic system,” he said.
Answering a question, he said PML(N) did not need permission from anybody for tabling a resolution in the parliament.
