Did YRF first offer Ek Tha Tiger to Shah Rukh Khan?
Yash Raj Films probably made one of the biggest announcements last week when they signed Salman Khan along with Katrina Kaif for Kabir Khan’s directorial venture Ek Tha Tiger. The news was indeed big as it is the first time Salman is working with Yash Raj Films.
However, not many people know that the same film had earlier been offered to YRF favourite and Salman’s rival Shah Rukh Khan who unfortunately couldn’t take it up due to date issues. King Khan in a recent interview has confirmed the same and has said that he doesn’t have any regrets that YRF have now gone ahead and signed Salman for the project. However, it remains to be seen if Sallu was aware of this fact before signing the project.
SRK makes documentary on Mughal-E-Azam
There is no denying the fact that K.Asif’s Mughal-E-Azam is among the greatest Hindi films made till date. Even ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’ Shah Rukh Khan is a huge fan of the yesteryears’ classic, so much so that he has the original camera on which the film was shot as a priceless souvenir at his abode Mannat.
Now King Khan, after meeting with K.Asif’s son Akbar Asif, has made a documentary on Mughal-E-Azam. The 40 minute documentary has not only been produced by Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment but he has also given the narration for the same.
The documentary called ‘Mughal-E-Azam – A tribute by a son to his father’ has bytes from many B-town biggies and is put together by Deven Munjal. The documentary will be launched shortly by Khan in truly King-size fashion.

After having made a splashing debut with Dil Se, today’s birthday girl Preity Zinta, who is also known as the original ‘effervescently bubbly-cious’ girl of Bollywood, went onto do films that spelt class to the core. SRK and Salman avoid bumping into each other at Star Screen Awards
Ever since their fallout, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have always avoided bumping into each other at social functions. Earlier this week, the two superstars missed clashing with each other at the Mumbai International airport by just a few minutes when both arrived from Dubai after celebrating New Year’s Eve with their respective families.
Last night also the media and fans were expecting to see SRK and Sallu together at the Star Screen Awards which took place in Mumbai. However, that was not to be. While SRK was the host for the evening along with Shahid Kapoor, Salman made an appearance for just a few minutes. Despite winning the Best Actor Award for Dabangg, Salman didn’t go up on stage to collect the award and it was his brother Arbaaz who collected the award.
The buzz is that Salman didn’t want any kind of unnecessary media-created controversy between SRK and him and hence he came to the venue, recorded his part for the T.V. telecast post the awards function, and left soon after.
Looks like these two superstars are in no mood to sort out their differences.
SRK highly impressed by Akon
Shah Rukh Khan is a self-confessed fan of Akon’s music. Now that they have jammed together for a song in Ra.One the two have become so close that Akon has promised to give Shah Rukh some tips on “cool rapping” in exchange for Hindi lessons from Shah Rukh.
R& B singer Akon has sung in Hindi for a track in Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One. Initially it was meant to be only a smattering of words in Hindi. Now there are passages of Hindi by Akon. The absence of an accent in his singing of the Hindi words in the track took Shah Rukh Khan so much by surprise that he decided to add some more Hindi words and lines into Akon’s song in Ra.One.
Confirming this, composer Shekhar Ravjiani speaking on behalf of the duo Vishal-Shekhar who have composed the Akon track, says, “Akon’s Hindi took all of us by surprise. It was almost like he had been speaking the language all his life. No one could believe Akon was seeing those Hindi lines for the first time. He just rattled of the lines as if he was conversant with Hindi. When you hear the song you will see no difference in the singing quality of Akon’s English and Hindi lines.”
Ra.One is expected to have 10 tracks. Vishal-Shekhar are in the process of creating the soundtrack.
Says Shekhar, “The director Anubhav Sinha has such a keen ear for music. He understands ragas, rhythm, melody and the format of music composition. Shah Rukh too is very clued to world music. We are creating the kind of global sound in Ra.One which has never been heard in Indian cinema before.”
SRK to host Indian version of popular TV show Wipeout
After hosting shows such as ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati-3′ and ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Ho? ‘, Baadshah of Bollywood- Shah Rukh Khan would once again be seen hosting a show on the small screen. The show in question is the Indian version of popular reality show ‘Wipeout’ where contestants are given a series of water based adventure tasks to perform.
Some of the contestants confirmed to take part in the show include names such as Raja Chaudhary, Dimpy Mahajan, Claudia Ciesta and Akashdeep. The show is likely to be shot in Argentina and would be aired on NDTV Imagine.
A press conference announcing the launch of the show is happening in Mumbai today where SRK would be present.
Arora angry over Sonakshi’s performance on ‘Munni Badnam Hui’

MUMBAI: Sonakshi Sinha performed on the song, ”Munni Badnam Hui” from the film ”Dabangg” at the recently held Sahara India Sports Awards 2010 and the very fact did not go well with the main performer Malaika Arora Khan.
Ever since the film hit the theatre and the song tops the chartbuster, Malaika has been performing on the popular track during all the events. But when Sonakshi performed the song at the Sahara awards with the same thrill, she was bit upset.
This was Sonakshi”s first stage performance and so everyone applauded her. According to Malaika, Sonakshi could have performed on some other tracks rather than her”s. However, the organizer did not approach Malaika for this event.
The award ceremony will see many top-notch actors performing on some chartbusters and Shahrukh Khan will be hosting the show.
Farah Khan quashes rumours
Film people and controversy go hand in hand. Since the time Farah Khan started TEES MAAR KHAN with Akshay Kumar, the media has constantly written about the
fallout between once thick pals Farah and Shah Rukh Khan. While the media has constantly speculated that that all’s not well between Farah and SRK, the
latest development seemed to take the ‘bitterness’ between them to a new level.
Reportedly, SRK has prevailed upon the Lullas of Eros to bring TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO on 24 December, in the same week as Farah’s TEES MAAR KHAN.

SRK gets a rare honor to sign Town Hall’s guestbook
Its not rocket science that Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan has many firsts and many ‘rare honours’ attached to him. He added yet another rare honour to his credit, when he recently visited the Rotes Rathaus; Berlin’s Town Hall and met its gay mayor Klaus Wowereit. He did so during his visit to Germany, as he is shooting there for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2.
SRK also got a rare honour of signing the guest book at the Town Hall. By doing so, he became the first Indian actor to be given the honour. Way to go, Shahrukh!
SRK gets impressed by Hrithik’s performance in Guzaarish
It’s the star-wives’ club at work. Mrs. Shah Rukh Khan and Mrs. Hrithik Roshan have brought their two superstar-husbands together. On Friday night, when Shah Rukh Khan watched Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish with his close family and friends, he was so moved by the film and Hrithik Roshan’s performance that he yanked his younger colleague out of slumber and made him immediately drive down to his bungalow ‘Mannat’.
No one says no to King Khan. Dead tired and fighting off a viral attack, Hrithik had no choice but to drive down to Mannat. Shah Rukh and Hrithik discussed Guzaarish and Hrithik’s performance until 2 am.
Says a source, “Shah Rukh had asked for a print of Guzaarish because he’s very fond of Hrithik. Also because Shah Rukh had played a physically challenged character in My Name Is Khan. He was curious to see how Hrithik had approached the character of a physically disabled hero. What started as profession inquisitiveness, turned into a complete involvement with the on-screen goings-on.
Shah Rukh felt Hrithik in Guzaarish out-excelled his own performance in My Name Is Khan. Shah Rukh also feels Guzaarish was way superior to what the director Sanjay Bhansali had achieved with Shah Rukh in Devdas.”
Half-way through the film, Shah Rukh rang up Hrithik and asked him to come home immediately. The two are close friends and their wives are even closer. Says Hrithik, “In fact, Sussanne was already at Mannat. When Shah Rukh wanted me to go over I had no choice. He’s always very generous,” says Hrithik.
It is rare for a colleague to be so generous towards another colleague’s stand-out performance, especially when he has given an equally riveting performance in the same genre during the same year.
Says a source, “Shah Rukh in My Name Is Khan and Hrithik in Guzaarish portraying two inspirational protagonists suffering from a crippling disability, will be the two top contenders for the best-actor nominations this year. By so generously acknowledging Hrithik’s performance, Shah Rukh has dissolved the competitive edge between two superstars.”
