Mel Gibson: Discrimination Witness?

a67cmel gibson Mel Gibson: Discrimination Witness? The sheriff who arrested Mel Gibson for his suspicion that Mel Gibson was driving under the influence now wants his help when it comes to his discrimination trial. The sheriff is claiming that after he arrested Gibson he was discriminated against. Another possible witness for James Mee – the sheriff – is said to be another Los Angeles County Sheriff by the name of Lee Baca.

So why was James Mee discriminated against?

James Mee feels that he was discriminated against back in 2006 because he was Jewish. Supposedly he was discriminated against by his superiors because they forced him to remove references to an anti- Semitic tirade by Gibson from a report and then later down the line that even ostracized him.

James Mee has had a hard time getting an attorney to even look at his case according to our sources. As you may have noticed this event took place years ago and they are just now getting it brought to trial. Many attorneys turned down the case stating that James Mee did not endure discrimination yet obviously he has found someone who believes him and is willing to help him fight for his rights now.

76b50f9assie bender Jesse Bender, Forced Marriage in PakistanThe parents of a California 13-year-old are under investigation after the girl told police she was being forced to go to Pakistan for an arranged marriage.

Jessie Bender, 13, from Hesperia, Calif., was last seen by her mother on Tuesday, February 22.
Melissa Bender, Jessie’s mother told KTLA that Jessie had been chatting with a man she met on Facebook, on the night she went missing.
“He was the last person she spoke to at 1:47 in the morning,” said Melissa.
Jessie Bender’s folks told authorities last month their daughter ran off because she didn’t want to go on a two-month family trip to her step-father’s native country. They then falsely claimed she was abducted by someone she met on Facebook, officials said.

However, after weeks of investigating leads that wrangled the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Office and police departments nationwide, authorities say it was all a lie.

“Bender family members misled detectives and withheld critical information,” San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Roxanne Walker said in a news release.

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State on Friday accepted an invitation to join the Mountain West Conference as the two-time Fiesta Bowl winner seeks out a league that’s a better launching pad into lucrative bowl games.

Boise State, now with the Western Athletic Conference, would become the Mountain West Conference’s 10th member. The move would be effective July 1, 2011.

The announcement is part of a massive conference shuffle nationwide, where leagues like the Pac-10 have lured Colorado and Nebraska seeks membership in the Big Ten.

As Boise State aims to secure a clearer path to Bowl Championship Series games worth millions, Mountain West Conference commissioner Craig Thompson said his league is boosting its strength by adding a football program that’s captured the nation’s imagination, and prime-time television exposure. The league’s main goal is to make a better case to become the seventh college football conference awarded an automatic BCS postseason berth. mountain west conference
The Mountain West Conference is more concentrated. Boise State joins the Air Force Academy, Brigham Young, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, TCU, UNLV, Utah and Wyoming.

“Membership in the Mountain West Conference is a milestone moment for the entire Bronco sports program,” said Boise State athletic director Gene Bleymaier. “The new alignment will help our student-athletes by minimizing distant travel and developing more intermountain competition.”

Dan Hawkins, head coach at Boise State until jumping to Colorado in 2006, said he doesn’t think the Mountain West is done adding teams as college football completes its current reshuffling.

“We’ll see how that whole thing shakes out and what happens to other teams in the Big 12,” Hawkins said. “There might be some other teams from…the Sun Belt, the Big 12, or somebody melded in there to complete the roster.”

Thompson all but ruled out adding more teams from the WAC.fa3da5bc7c03 bjw mountain west conference

One week after 7-year-old Kyron Horman went missing near his elementary school in Portlant, Oregon, his family issued its first public statement, thanking the hundreds of people who have searched for the boy and sending a message of hope directly to him.
“We want to say how much we appreciate the outpouring of love and support as we wait for you,” said the boy’s stepfather, Tony Young. “Until you come home we are not a family.”
“Please, Kyron,” Young said, hoping to speak directly to the missing first grader, “keep up the hope. We believe in you.”

Kyron disappeared the morning of June 4 following a school science fair. He was last seen by his stepmother, walking toward his classroom 150 feet away. But he never made it there.
The search consists of more than 200 people, some on horseback. Dogs and a National Guard helicopter also have been deployed.

Efforts have been held back at times because of constant rain and cloudy conditions in the area. The school is near the top of a hill surrounded by deep woods and several ravines.
Also at the podium were Kyron’s biological mother, Desiree Young; her husband, Tony Young; and Kyron’s stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman.

“We miss you, we love you and we need you home right now,” Tony Young said. “Until you come home, this family’s not complete.”

Tony Young thanked searchers and the community. Nearly every local business features a flier with Kyron’s picture, and the family appeared Friday in T-shirts bearing his face and information.

The searchers were checking an area within a two-mile radius of the school, and Sgt. Diana Olsen of the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said they were expanding that search area on Friday. She declined to elaborate.

Capt. Monte Reiser of the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said community members can make donations into a fund at the Bank of America in Kyron’s name. Some of the money will be used to offset the cost of the search. Reiser said search teams from Washington and California have also been dispatched to help in the search.

“Morale is high,” Reiser said of the search teams, which are largely comprised of state-certified volunteers who took vacation days from work to participate. “I think we are closer (to finding him).”

Capt. Mike Shults, the sheriff’s office liaison to the family, said the last eight days have been difficult.

“This has been a very difficult time for the family,” Shults said. “Keep your prayers and thoughts on our little boy.”

robin hood men in tights

85bb47a39eposter robin hood men in tightsRidley Scott, the director of the latest incarnation of the Robin Hood legend, has admitted to not caring for previous versions of the story. According to Mr. Scott, “The best, frankly, was Mel Brooks’ Men in Tights, because Cary Elwes was quite a comic.” A rather bizarre comment, especially considering that the aforementioned film marked the downward spiral of a once-great comedic director. But since he’s helmed projects ranging from Alien to Gladiator, you have to respect the man’s opinion. And, after seeing his version starring Russell Crowe, I must agree: Robin Hood: Men in Tights remains the better tale.

Audiences looking for a story about Robin Hood and his Merry Men sticking it to the Sheriff of Nottingham should search elsewhere. There’s almost no stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, and Sherwood Forest is barely mentioned. Instead, the movie depicts how Robin became the legendary outlaw, beb1a3c60c00x300 robin hood men in tightsa decision that demonstrates a great deal of temerity on the part of the filmmakers. Did they actually watch the final cut and think the public would clamor for future adventures? Or perhaps they were simply aiming to pull a reverse Robin Hood by stealing from the masses and giving to themselves.

Robin Longstride (Russell Crowe) is an archer in the service of Richard the Lionheart (Danny Huston), a beloved king who’s drained England’s coffers for the ill-advised Third Crusade. Returning home after a decade with nothing to show, Richard’s army is sacking every castle along the way in an attempt to turn a profit. But when the king is unexpectedly killed, Robin and his pals Little John (Kevin Durand), Will Scarlet (Scott Grimes) and Allan A’Dayle (Alan Doyle) decide they’ve had enough of war. Making their way back to England, they encounter the scene of an ambush, and Robin promises a dying knight that he’ll return the man’s sword to his father. The man’s name: Sir Robert Loxley. His home: Nottingham.

Robin keeps his word and soon finds himself impersonating Sir Loxley at the request of the dead man’s father (Max Von Sydow). This doesn’t sit well with his widow, Lady Marion (Cate Blanchett), but it’s the only way to keep the land from passing into the hands of the crown upon the death of the elder Loxley.

Meanwhile, leadership of England passes to King John (Oscar Isaac), a wretched fellow who keeps a French mistress, hated his brother, disrespects his mother, and is friends with the even more wretched Sir Godfrey (Mark Strong), an Englishman secretly in league with the French. Godfrey’s goal is to stir up so much trouble between the crown and the nobles that civil war breaks out. Then, the French will sweep in and conquer the country.

1cadd3ba3dy town haplin minnesotaWelcome to Haplin, Minnesota. What did you think of ABC’s introduction to this mysterious hamlet?

On the series premiere of Happy Town, we met a bunch of interesting individuals, most of whom are hiding secrets or playing some role in a killer-based conspiracy.

This is pretty much ABC’s third attempt at replacing Lost. Its first two, FlashForward and V, have tanked in the ratings and are unlikely to be renewed for a second season. But Happy Town feels different, at least after one episode. Unlike those two shows, which took every situation so seriously (FlashForward star Joseph Fiennes may not have smiled once all season), there’s a wink and a nod to this drama.

It wants to scare us, sure, but it’s also aware that it’s a campy television show version of most horror movies.

For example: one old lady said “murder” in an almost mocking way; one character laughed about the sheriff giving him a “This town isn’t big enough for the both of us” talk. There was an irony and a light air about the pilot episode, even as it told us all about the Magic Man and his past in Haplin.

After one hour of the show, I’m curious for more, aren’t you? First, the Magic Man is a nice hook. Instead of biting off more than it can chew with a global mystery (again, such as FlashForward and V), the series focuses on a single, overarching issue

Sea World Whale Attack

Sea World Whale Attack, A killer whale lives up to its name! An 04c4419bbcattack1 Sea World Whale Attackextensively trained SeaWorld Trainer, 40 year old Dawn Brancheau was apparently in a whale holding area when she slipped and fell in, and was then killed by the whale. Can you imagine? This is absolutely devastating. I’m sure we can go into “well, that’s what you get when you keep animals in captivity..,” etc but, it is really sad for this woman to have died in such a terrible way. People who work with animals obviously love them and I’m sure she really loved killer whales – evident by the picture of her above with one of the killer whales. It’s really odd because despite their name, killer whales are actually not violent in nature. When I was a kid, I used to be obsessed with killer whales when I was a kid. I had a big stuffed Shamu teddy bear and everything.

Whale kills Trainer as Horrified Spectators Watch

MIAMI: Whale kills trainer as horrified spectators watch, A killer whale killed a 40-year-old female trainer in an apparent attack witnessed by horrified onlookers at Florida’s SeaWorld entertainment park.

Authorities at first said the woman died after apparently falling into the whale’s tank, but an eyewitness claimed the animal leapt out of the water to grab her in its mouth.

The Orlando Sentinel newspaper reported that SeaWorld executive Chuck Tompkins later confirmed witness reports that Tilikum dragged the trainer into the water.

“We’re in the process of investigating all of the people and the animals,” Tompkins said.

“One of our most experienced animal trainers drowned in an incident with one of our killer whales this afternoon,” said Dan Brown, general manager at the Orlando, Florida entertainment park.

“This is an extraordinarily difficult time for the SeaWorld parks,” he said said at a televised press conference.

The massive animal had reportedly been involved in two previous incidents in which a trainer and a man who apparently jumped into his tank were killed.

Jim Solomons of the Orange County Sheriff’s office said the trainer killed Wednesday — identified by SeaWorld as Dawn Brancheau — died after slipping into the tank.

“She apparently slipped or fell… and was fatally injured by one of the whales,” he said. “This appears to be an accidental death, it’s a tragic death.”

The whale, named Tilikum or “friend” in the Native American language Chinook Jargon, is among the killer whales, dolphins and seals whose shows have made SeaWorld so popular.

But he has been involved in previous human deaths, including in 1991 when a part-time trainer at the Sealand of the Pacific facility in Canada was killed in his tank, according to the Humane Society of the United States.

In 1999, after being shipped from Canada to Orlando, he was blamed for the death of a man who had apparently stayed in the park after closing.

The Humane Society said the man jumped into Tilikum’s tank and was found dead the next morning, his naked body covered in scratches that suggested he had been dragged around the bottom and sides of the tank.

An eyewitness told CNN that Tilikum attacked the trainer as she showed him off to park visitors following the Dine with Shamu show.

“He just took off like a bat out of you know what, took off really fast and came back around to the glass, jumped up, and grabbed the trainer by the waist and started shaking her violently,” witness Victoria Biniak said.

“The sirens were going off. People were running out. I’ve never seen so many SeaWorld employees come out of the woodwork.”

Another eyewitness told CNN that the whales in the tank had begun ignoring the trainers.

“We could tell this whale was not in a good mood at all. We literally could tell it was not cooperating,” said the unnamed witness.

Though killer whales, also known as orcas, are a common attraction at entertainment parks, they are known for aggressive “play” and behavior in the wild, including batting seals or dolphins back and forth.

They are huge creatures — Tilikum weighs in at least 11,000 pounds — and “are among the most curious of all whales, with a great tendency to ‘play’ and to manipulate objects,” according to SeaWorld’s website.

Tilikum was captured in November 1983 off the coast of Iceland and is one of several killer whales on display at the Orlando park, which was partially closed down after the trainer’s death.

SeaWorld’s website said its shows involving killer whales in Orlando and in San Diego, California, have been suspended.

Animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals released a statement saying the death was a “tragedy that didn’t have to happen.”
