Judiciary capable to have its ruling implemented: Justice (R) Tariq
PESHAWAR: Lawyers leader Justice (Retd.) Tariq Mehmood Wednesday said the Judiciary is completely independent and is capable of getting its decisions implemented in line with the constitution and law.
Talking to Geo News here, Tariq Mehmood said the amendments made in the constitutions do not in any way affect the independence of the judiciary.
He said the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) should stay separated from judiciary and political parties. However, he said, SCBA should support the judiciary.
Justice Tariq said the judiciary has committed mistakes in the past and that it has gone on record to acknowledge the same.
US should not leave Afghanistan for 5 years
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday urged the US that it should stay in Afghanistan till accomplishment of the mission.
In an interview with a foreign news channel, Qureshi said US should stay in Afghanistan for at least five years. He said Pakistan is continuously striving for the integrity and stability of the region. The US must transfer its drone technology to Pakistan “so that we can cope well with extremism ourselves,” Qureshi added.
