85 arrested in Nowshera, Charsadda search operation
NOWSHERA: Eighty-five militants arrested and six houses of militants destroyed during security forces operation in different localities of Nowshera and Charsadda.
Police sources said joint search operation of security forces, FC and Police is underway in Badarshi and Kaka Sahib areas of Nowshera in which 70 suspected militants have been arrested whereas six houses of militants including the house of outlawed outfit Tahreek-e-Taliban Nowshera ameer Qari Kamran.
On the other hand, 15 suspected persons arrested during search operation in North Hasht Nagar area in Charsadda.
Mohmand toll mounts to 102
GHALANAI: The death toll in the suicide attack in Yakkaghand area of Mohmand Agency rose to 102 with over 100 injured; the most of them are in critical condition, Geo News reported Saturday.
More bodies are feared to be found from the rubble caused by the massive explosion.
According to political Tehsildar Meraj Khan, further bodies were recovered from under the debris today, which pushed the death toll to over 102.
The 112 injured are receiving medical treatment at various hospitals.
It should be mentioned here that a suicide bomber riding a motorbike blew himself up yesterday as hundreds of people were gathered around the office of a senior government official in Pakistan”s northwestern Mohmand region, where security forces have stepped up attacks on Taliban militants in recent weeks.
The bomber killed 102 people, including women and children, in an attack in a volatile Pashtun region on the Afghan border Friday, officials said.
The blast was so powerful that it was heard far and wide, pulling down at least 30 shops including two hotels in Yakkaghand. Also, the roof of a nearby house caved in.
Assistant Political Agency Rasul Khan put the death toll initially at 70.
The deceased include four personnel of Khasadar Force. The most of the dead have been buried. The atmosphere in the areas is draped in tears and mourning, as the people are quite immersed in grief for their lost dear ones.
The exits and entrances of Mohmand Agency are being thoroughly inspected.
The power explosion caused the house of Yakkaghand jail to collapse, allowing 35 prisoners to escape.
Political officials announced a lakh rupee for each deceased and Rs50,000 each for injured.
Meantime, outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan accepted the responsibility for the blast.
The TTP spokesman Ikramullah Mohmand told Geo News from unknown destination that blast targeted the members of Ambar Peace Committee present at the moment at the office of Assistant Political Agent.
Journalists to observe Black Day against PA’s media resolution
ISLAMABAD: The journalists across Pakistan are gearing up to observe Black Day today against the consensus resolution passed by Punjab Assembly yesterday, Geo News reported Saturday.
The protest demonstrations would be staged in various cities including Islamabad against the Punjab Assembly bid to malign media through their resolution.
The members of Khyber Union of Journalists in Peshawar and Peshawar Press Club will have their protest recorded at 1130am today.
The protest call was given by Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists.
Forces perish six militants in SWA
WANA: Six militants killed and several injured during retaliatory action of security forces in South Waziristan Agency (SWA).
According to sources, militants attacked security checkpoint with rockets and automatic weapons in Pash Ziarat area in suburb of Wana. Three security men martyred and eight others wounded in the attack. In reply, six militants killed and several injured in retaliatory action of security forces.

Swat, Pakistan News: The security forces found dead bodies of six militants from Buner and Darra Adam Khel on Thursday.
One security official martyred in terrorists’ attacks in South Waziristan while two terrorists were killed in retaliation by the forces. According to sources, dead bodies of three militants were found from bordering area of Swat and Buner called Karakar who were shot dead. Three other dead bodies were found from Kot Mela graveyard in Akhorwal area of Dara Adam Khel. Terrorists attacked on a check post in Asmaan Manza area of South Waziristan in which one security official got martyred. Forces killed two terrorists in retaliation.

Pakistan News: Security forces killed six militants who attacked on a check post in Laddah area of South Waziristan.
Another militant was killed in clash with security forces in Swat. Terrorists attacked a check post of security forces in the morning today however retaliation fire from the forces killed six militants. Eight militants got injured in the offensive. GHALANAI, Pakistan: Six militants were killed and 11 wounded in clashes with security forces after two security men killed in the attack by militants on a checkpoint in the Mohmand tribal region, sources said.

According to sources, forces search operation has been continuing in the border areas of Mohmand region last week one.
Militants attacked a security post in tehsil Baizai killing two security men on the spot and injuring two others. In the attack against the forces of six militants were killed and 11 wounded.
