Supreme Court Hears Missing Persons Case
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan News: Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday heard the case of missing persons during the hearing Justice Javed Iqbal remarked that the democratic system is at the verge of destruction.
Justice Javed Iqbal, who heads the two-member bench, was hearing the case of missing Mustafa Azam who belongs to Karachi. During the hearing, Justice Javed questioned the status of democracy and said that there are no basic rights given to masses. The military’s role was also brought into question over the disappearances of individuals.
Justice Javed Iqbal said in the missing persons’ cases “there is always a mention of brigadiers and majors, who has given them power?”
“Frontier Corps has no rights to arrest and detain any person,” Justice Iqbal said, adding that the court will be satisfied even if one person was recovered and the anxiety of one family was over.
Meanwhile, Justice Raja Fayyaz said “there is a Gestapo-like reign of terror…anyone can come into a house, where is the enforcement of law?”
Incidents involving hundreds of missing persons have been reported to the court in the past four years. Relatives of the missing allege they were picked up by intelligence agencies.

Six Militants killed in Swat
Bajaur, Pakistan News: At least six militants killed in a clash with security forces in Swat whereas another school was destroyed by insurgents in Bajaur.
Three militants, Mehboob, Salman and Khasta Bacha were killed in a conflict during a search operation in Kokari area of Mingora, according to Swat media center. Forces also recovered heavy artillery from militant’s hideout. Three militants were killed in Bahrin during a clash with security forces. A boy’s primary school was destroyed with explosives in Salarzai area of Bajaur.

Gen Kayani Reaches Swat
MINGORA, Pakistan: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaz Kayani has reached Swat while strict security measures have been taken on occasion of his visit.
General Kayani will attend a ceremony of competition among students. He will also have a briefing on the developmental projects in the city. Unannounced curfew has been imposed on Sedo Sharif Road and it has been closed for the public. Security officials contingents are deployed at various spots in the city.

Clash in NWaziristan Four Soldiers, Six Militants killed
MIRAN SHAH, Pakistan: North Waziristan militants attacked a security forces camp in Razmak area killing four security men in the attack and injuring two others.
After the militants attack at Mana Camp the forces retaliated with counter attack and killed six militant fighters.
