Aditi Sharma plays second female lead in Mausam
Till now, the whole world was going gaga about the fresh on-screen pairing of Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in Mausam. Ever since the film has been announced, it has been creating a buzz in the media.
Now, from what we hear is that Sonam is not the only one who will be getting to romance ‘Shah-Hit’ Kapoor. News is that, besides Sonam, there is second actress Aditi Sharma, who will also be seen romancing Shahid in the film. Aditi, for starters, is the same PYT, who was last seen in Subhash Ghai’s Black And White. News has it that Aditi plays Shahid’s love interest in the first half of the film, while in the second half, Sonam takes over.
What remains to be seen is that, with two lovely ladies vying for Shahid’s attention, who will be luckier: Shahid, the ladies or the audience! Any answers?
Deepika, Sonam face tough consequences for going against Ranbir
MUMBAI: Latest reports from the tinsel town confirmed that Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor will not be joining Ranbir Kapoor in his July 2011 world tour. While actresses like Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu and Malaika Arora Khan will be a part of the tour, Deepika and Sonam have been asked to quit.
It may be recalled that Rishi is upset with the two actresses for making rude remarks on his son”s character in ”Koffee With Karan Season 3” and he prefers Katrina over Deepika and Sonam.
Rishi Kapoor admitted that it is impossible to bring Deepika-Katrina on board together saying, “Deepika wanted to come along. We didn”t want any stress behind the stage. See, as it is, Ranbir has never been on stage. We want it to go smoothly, no backstage jhik-jhik, please!”
Sonam has backed out from the tour as well. Rishi Kapoor explained, “She begged off saying she didn”t have a song repertoire to stand on stage with Katrina and Priyanka.”
“We start off in the UK, US and Canada. Then after six months we”ll go for another lap of the tour. I”ve done these world tours over and over again. But for Ranbir, the world tour would be a new experience,” he added.
Sonam Kapoor to be brand ambassador for Electrolux
Sonam Kapoor is someone who can rightly be called as a ‘Fashion Diva’ of Bollywood. This PYT, who made her debut with Saawariya, went onto become the talk of the country with her remarkable performances in Delhi 6, which was eventually followed up with I Hate LUV Storys and the recently released Aisha.
Well, it is the same Sonam Kapoor who is now also the talk of the ad fraternity. Sources close to Bollywood Hungama inform that Sonam has now been signed up as the brand ambassador for the Electrolux, the house appliances major. Apparently, as a part of the endorsement, Sonam will be seen promoting the said brand’s entire existing portfolio which includes refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves and air conditioners.
The official confirmation of the same is awaited.

Shahid Kapoor kept calling himself as ‘Flop Hero’ & Sonam as ‘Hit Heroine’
Shahid and Sonam Kapoor are shooting love scenes in a specially-designed carriage in a part of Edinburgh where no film has been shot before.
Feeling flush with the success of I Hate Luv Storys (IHLS) – her first hit, Sonam Kapoor returned to Scotland last week to resume the shooting of Mausam with Shahid Kapoor who had been patiently waiting for his heroine to return so they could resume their-onscreen romancing for his father’s film Mausam.
Coincidentally, a week after IHLS clicked Shahid’s Milenge Milenge opened to a very lukewarm response. Naturally, Sonam and Shahid had a lot to say to one another during the breaks between shots about their respective films.
Except that Shahid was doing all the talking about both the films. Says a source from the unit, “Sonam and Shahid have been shooting this week at the Royal Mile, which is the longest road in Edinburgh and not open to traffic, let alone film shootings. It’s a long stretch with restricted movement for locals, so that there was little intrusion from Shahid and Sonam’s Indian fans.”
Cars filled with loads of NRI fans have been arriving in Edinburgh from in and around Scotland and London to see the two stars shoot.
Says the source, “Naturally without fans hovering to take pictures and start off a conversation, Shahid and Sonam were much relaxed at the mythic Royal Mile. Shahid had a field day taking potshots at his own film and congratulating Sonam for her success.”
Apparently, Shahid insisted on addressing himself as ‘Flop Hero’ and Sonam as ‘Hit Heroine.’
Says the source, “After a point Sonam just told him to stop it. But Shahid was unstoppable.”

Danish had assisted Kunal Kohli on films like THODA PYAAR THODA MAGIC and FANAA and worked with Yash Raj Films on TA RA RUM PUM and SALAAM NAMASTE. Karan Johar gave away Imran and Sonam’s publicity dates to other films
Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor were absent from Mumbai just before the publicity of I Hate LUV Storys (IHLS) began. The two cancelled their publicity work for the film and headed abroad for the shooting of separate films in Scotland and Mauritius, all thanks to the overweening generosity of the I Hate LUV Storys producer Karan Johar.
Dates have always been a burning issue among producers, often leading to unsolvable scheduling snares. During the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Aishwarya Rai had to shuffle her dates with Subhash Ghai’s Taal. Neither filmmaker was happy.
Now, Imran Khan finds himself in a scheduling jam thanks to a clash between the schedules for his under-production film Break Ke Baad in Mauritius and the marketing and release of I Hate LUV Storys in Mumbai.
Meticulous planner that he is, Karan Johar had set aside a large chunk of Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor’s dates in June and July for the promotion of IHLS. Ever-accommodating for his colleagues, Karan gave away Sonam’s publicity dates for the shooting of Pankaj Kapoor’s Mausam in Edinburgh.
Then Kunal Kohli requested Karan to let go of Imran’s dates for Kohli’s first independent production Break Ke Baad. Imran who was committed to do promotional work of IHLS marched off to Mauritius to shoot for Kunal’s assistant Danish Aslam’s, leaving Karan high and dry.
Confirming these developments from Mauritius the Break Ke Baad, producer Kunal Kohli says, “Yes Karan sweetly let me have Imran’s dates so that I could complete my schedule in Mauritius. It’s rare for two producers like me and Karan, to be friends and do whatever we can to help one another.”
Karan in fact requested Kunal to send Imran back from the second week of June. But Kunal requested a week more. Says Kunal, “Karan’s stars do extensive publicity. So he has made quite a sacrifice for me. My film which would be Imran’s next release can only benefit from all the publicity for Karan’s film.”
Now that Imran and Sonam are back in Mumbai, they are expected to do 19 hours of publicity every day to make up for lost time!
Says IHLS director Punit Malhotra, “Yes… Imran and Sonam have joined us from the 20th and they have promised to really rev up the publicity now.”
