Bajaur Agency: Suicide blast kills 44, injures 72
At least 44 people were killed and 72 injured in a blast in Khar, district headquarters of Bajaur Agency in FATA, trendpk.com reported on Saturday.
According to details, the blast occurred in front of a Civil colony at a check point and World Food Programme building was also near the blast place. A woman suicide bomber reached at the point and blew herself up, due to which 44 people were killed and several others sustained severe injuries. The attack took place when more than 300 people were gathered outside World Food Programme building to receive food rations. Security forces and police reached the spot and cordoned off the area and started search operation. Rescue teams were also reached the blast place and started relief activities. The injured are being shifted to hospital where emergency was declared and paramedics staff was called.
Airstrikes kill 12 militants in Orakzai
At least 12 militants were killed and 8 others got injured in the shelling of gunship helicopters in different areas of Orakzai Agency, Dunya News reported on Saturday.
According to security sources, gunship helicopters pounded Khadizai, Sawarokot and Kotkali due to which 4 hideouts of militants were destroyed. Security forces have started search operation in Gondikali and Malapatti.
334 suspects arrested in KA, Nowshera, Charsadda search operation
PESHAWAR: Law enforcement agencies arrested 334 suspected persons during search operation in Khyber Agency, Nowshera and Charsadda search operation.
FC sources said security forces started search operation in Sipah area of tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency on Monday. This is an ancestral area of Mangal Bagh, a commander of outlawed outfit Lashkar-e-Islam. At least 334 suspected arrested in the operation and shifted to FC fort for investigations.
In Nowshera, law enforcement agencies imposed curfew in Azakhel camp and started search operation. Three suspected persons were arrested and large cache of automatic weapons recovered during operation. Ten more suspected arrested in Chirat, Sheikhi, Sateen Kanay and Lakrai areas in Nowshera.
On the other hand, 14 suspected persons arrested in Mandani area in North Hasht Nagar in Charsadda.
DI Khan blast: No casualty reported
A blast occurred at Grid Road in Dera Ismail Khan on Saturday but no loss of life was reported.
According to police sources, explosive material was planted with wall of Grid Station which exploded with huge sound but no casualty was reported. After the incident police cordoned off the area and started search operation.
3 killed, dozen injured in Swat blast
MINGORA: A suicide blast took place at crowded Sohrab Chowk in Swat, killing at least three persons and wounding 12 others, police and officials of Saidu Sharif Hospital said.
The bomber exploded himself up prematurely upon seeing security forces before hitting the target at local market in busy Sohrab chowk, DPO Qazi Farooq told reporters here.
He confirmed the death of three persons and injuring of six. At least 12 shops were destroyed and damaged in the attack.
Police and other law enforcement agencies rushed to site and shifted the injured to hospital.
The identity of the victims could not be immediately ascertained. All the victims are civilians.
Sources said that the attack happened shortly after law enforcement agencies arrested a suspected militant from the area following an information about presence of suicide bomber in the area. The security forces started search operation.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has strongly condemned the attack and termed it a cowardly act.
He ordered probe of the incident and directed the Saidu Sharif hospital administration to provide quality treatment to victims. He prayed for the early recovery of injured and departed soul of deceased. He said that elements involved in it would soon be brought to justice.

: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s adviser Saeed Mehdi has resigned from office as his name is included in the list of NRO beneficiaries.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has accepted the resignation and called it a positive tradition.
Mehdi had announced to resign in an organizational meeting of the party chaired by PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif. Mehdi maintained he hadn’t enjoyed any perk under NRO, adding that he is innocent. “I will prove my innocence in court. But I think it is not justified to continue working as adviser to CM morally,” he added.

Clashes in Mohmand Agency, One killed
MOHMAND AGENCY, Pakistan News : One militant has been killed in recent clashes between members of peace committee and militants in Spangi Tangi area of Mohmand Agency.
According to the channel, one militant was killed and other three arrested in the recent clashes between peace committee and militants, while the committee demolished terrorists’ hideout.
Security forces have started search operation in various areas.

Nato Oil Tankers Gutted in Bolan
MACHH, Pakistan: Nato Oil Tankers Gutted in Bolan, Unidentified attackers in Machh area of district Bolan fired rockets at tankers supplying oil to the Nato forces in Afghanistan. A driver was killed in the attack, while five oil tankers were gutted in the incident.
The attackers fired rockets at oil tankers from nearby hills when the tankers carrying fuel for Nato forces in Afghanistan were stationed at a hotel near Geetani bridge. The tankers caught fire in the attack, while a tanker driver Jumma Khan was also killed in the attack.
Heavy contingents of police and Frontier Constabulary cordoned off the area after the attack and started search for the assailants.

GHQ Attackers Were Highly Trained: ISPR
ISLAMABAD: Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Maj. Gen. Ather Abbas Monday said the GHQ attackers were highly trained fighters but the commandos of Pak army successful mow them down.
Pakistan army commandos rescued 39 hostages, out of 42, in a daybreak swoop on their captors early Sunday as a terrorist assault on GHQ with sophisticated weapons, followed with 18-hour hostage-taking drama, left 19 people dead in its bloody wake.
Those perishing in the nearly 24-hour standoff included eight security personnel, as many alleged terrorists and three hostages with forces captured alive the Taliban-trained mastermind Aqeel alias Dr. Usman.
Ather said the commando operation was spread over two phases with 30 hostages freed and four terrorists gunned down in the first stage which got underway at around 6.00 a.m.
