UCLA Basketball updates
Latest UCLA Basketball updates, The stage was set: UCLA basketball opening home game at legendary Pauley Pavilion with what was supposed to be fodder in Cal State Fullerton, making for an easy win coming off close games against Concordia and Humboldt State in preseason.
Someone forgot to tell Cal State Fullerton. They won in double overtime 68 to 65 and broke a nine-game string of losses to UCLA. With strength training and the Internet used to pass on coaching points, it’s harder than ever to beat a non-ranked team without the ranked team playing its “A” game.
Teams don’t just “see the name brand” and lay down anymore. If anything, “UCLA” or “Notre Dame” in football just fires teams up, in some cases causing them to play over their heads. Is CS Fullerton that good down the stretch? We shall see. Source and thanks.

Cal State Fullerton Basketball
Cal State Fullerton Basketball, Senior Gerard Anderson scored 13 points and point guard Jacques Streeter had 8 points, 6 assists and 5 steals Monday night to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 69-58 victory exhibition basketball at Cal State Los Angeles.
Chris Sector CSULA led all scorers with 18 points and Dwayne Jones added 12.
CSULA Fullerton rebounds by a 50-34 margin, but otherwise the statistics were very equal. Jer’Vaughn Johnson led the Titans with nine.
The Titans used a 15.2 to close the first half for a 35-29 advantage at halftime. The Golden Eagles opened the second quarter with an 6-0 run to forge a tie at 35-35. However, Fullerton, scored the next five points and gradually pulled away to lead by up to 19 points at 68-49 with 3:43 to play.
“All the difference in the game was our offensive rebounding,” said head coach Bob Burton CSF. “Obviously, we have a tremendous amount of work to do.
“I am very disappointed with the way we played defense and offense. We did not play defense the way we think we can play and were not aggressive enough on offense.
“We expect more of our counter-attack and how to run the offense. But we did rebound and we can do that.”
Cal State LA shot 35 percent from the floor, including 6 of 18 from 3-point line. Fullerton also shot 35 percent but made only 3 of 17 Treysas. But the Titans took 20 offensive rebounds to only 7 CSULA.
