CNG Stations in Potohar region to shut down for 2 days

It has been announced that CNG stations of Potohar region will remain closed for two days from today. There was a long queue of cars seen at CNG stations of the twin cities.
According to the gas load management plan, all the CNG stations of Potohar region will remain closed today and tomorrow. Long queues of cars were seen during late hours of Thursday at CNG stations of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The citizens said that due to this shut down, they have to face lots of problems. While on the other side, as the CNG is unavailable on Friday and Saturday, it is difficult to find public transport so commuting from one place to another is also a major concern. However during this closure of CNG stations, the local taxi drivers also demand high fares stating that we are running on petrol.
SNGPL issues new schedule for CNG stations closure
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited has issued a new notice for the closure of the CNG stations in Punjab, Dunya News reported on Monday.
According to the new schedule of SNGPL, all the CNG stations in Punjab would remain closed for two days per two weeks instead of one day closure in two weeks. Also that another day has been added to the closure schedule of regions having one day off in a week. The closure decision has resulted due to reduced supply of gas from the Qadirpur and Zamzama gas fields.
Water level recedes in Manchar Lake
The water level has receded in Manchar Lake as flood waters flow into the Indus River. Several adjoining villages have been inundated. Various parts of the Indus Highway have also been inundated. According to reports, road links between Sehwan and Obarao City have been disconnected and a large portion of the road has been swept away.
The water has been diverted into the Indus River with the help of a cut at RD 100 Bhan Saeedabad and a cut on the near by railway line. A large area of Bobak, Daal and Bayikhtyarpur has been flooded due to a breach in the protective embankment. Thousands of people from the nearby villages of Sehwan Sharif and Dadu have taken shelter at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
The waves have also submerged a Parco oil refinerys pumping station in the area. Many of Parcos staff is stranded on the stations rooftop waiting for help to arrive. However the main pumping station of the refinery is safe.

One-day CNG closure agreed in Sindh, Balochistan
KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas and CNG Stations Owners Association agreed on closing CNG stations one day a week, Geo News reported Wednesday.
The decision to close pumping stations for one day a week in the country, will help save 35 million cubic feet gas daily.
Earlier, All Pakistan CNG Stations Owners Association’s Chairman Malik Khuda Bux told Geo News that the officials from Sui Southern Gas and CNG Stations Owners Association held an emergency meeting today. The meeting reached consensus on closing the CNG pumping stations from noon to noon on Fridays and Saturdays in Sindh and Balochistan.
The SSG officials told Geo News that closing CNG stations for one day a week will save 10 million cubic feet gas in Sindh and Balochistan.
Earlier, Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) and CNG Association in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw agreed to keep pumping stations closed on Tuesdays, which will save daily 25 million cubic feet gas.
In Karachi 15 KESC Grid Stations Closed
KARACHI PAKISTAN: Power outages have started to haunt Karachi with beginning of
summer as the power supply to the the metropolis from Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (KANUPP) has been suspended causing closure of 15 grid stations of KESC.
The sources at KESC said that in absence of supply of cheaper furnace oil from PSO and additional gas from Sui Southern Gas Company the problem of power outages can turn to worse.
Several city areas undergoing seven to eight hours power load shedding causing hardships for the citizens.
Suicide Blasts Rock Balakot, Mansehra Police Stations

MANSEHRA, Pakistan News: In the early hours of the morning two
terrorist have attacked on City Police station in Manshera. One of the terrorist blew himself at the main gate of the Police station in Manshera.
At least two Police officers have been killed during the attack while 10 others have been injured due to the attack. Police have killed one of the two terrorist.
A search operation is underway in Manshera to arrest the other terrorist who managed to escape. Continuous round of firing sounds heard from the area.
In a separate incident a Police station was also attacked by a suicide bomber in Balakot. The SHO was also killed during the incident.

CNG Stations of Islamabad zone Closed for two days
Pakistan News: CNG stations of Islamabad zone have been closed for two days. On the other hand, gas loadshedding for domestic customers is continued uninterruptedly, due to which people are facing problems. At least 697 CNG stations of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Jhelum and Attock are closed under gas management plan. Domestic users are getting gas with low pressure. Gas remains suspended in most of the cities at daytime. Due to which, even cooking has become a difficult task. Gas has also been suspended to a number of factories and textile units in Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and Peshawar. Spokesman of Sui Northern Gas , the company is receiving 2,100 million cubic feet (mcf) daily while demand of gas is 2,300 mcf. So for, the company is facing shortfall of 400 mcf.

SC Orders to Hold Polls in NA-55, Seeks Reply
Pakistan News: The Supreme Court gave directives to hold polls in NA-55 Rawalpindi, and demanded reply from the Punjab government about NA-123 Lahore .
Earlier, the Punjab government filed its reply in the court stating the law and order situation and repeated threats of terrorist attacks as reason for the postponement of by-polls, however, it also added that it would conduct the by-polls if the court allowed.
Sheikh Rashid and Nawaz Sharif are among those who would run for Rawalpindi and Lahore seats respectively.

CNG Stations Observing Strike
LAHORE, Pakistan News: The CNG stations are observing strike for an indefinite period from Wednesday on the call of All Pakistan CNG Association.
The All Pakistan CNG Association has announced that it will go on strike for an indefinite period from December 30 in protest against the proposed hike in prices of gas.
CNG Association President Ghayas Abdullah Paracha while addressing a press conference said that the strike call was given because the government had not accepted their demands.
He said that strike would continue if the government did not accept their demands.
