LAHORE: A man attempted self-immolation along with his wife and children outside the Chief Minister’s House in Lahore on Friday.
Resident of Bahawalpur, Punjab, Rajab Ali tried to set himself on fire but police made timely intervention and thwarted his plan.
Speaking to Trend Pk, Ali said that he was forced to do so after failing to get back his property occupied illegally by his step brothers.
He alleged that police was also supporting his step brothers.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, taking notice of Trend Pk’s report, directed authorities to contact Rajab Ali. Trend Pk
Former minister’s grandson’s body recovered

MULTAN: The body of Dilawar Hussain, the grandson of former federal minister, Mukhtar Awan, has been recovered, SAMAA reported Thursday.
Dilawar Hussain was kidnapped on the night of September 15 and police recovered his body today (Thursday) from a canal in Mumtazabad.
Dilawar’s body was taken to Nishtar Hospital for medical examination.
Police said his step-mother is involved in the kidnapping and murder. SAMAA
Japan backs UN action on N.Korea

TOKYO: Japan said Monday it supports Seoul”s push to punish North Korea at the UN Security Council for sinking a South Korean warship and is also studying more sanctions of its own against Pyongyang.
A multinational investigation last week found that a North Korean submarine torpedoed a South Korean corvette in March, killing 46 sailors.
Asked about Tokyo”s position, Japan”s top government spokesman Hirofumi Hirano said: “We strongly support South Korea.”
“It is assumed that Japan, the United States and South Korea will fully coordinate efforts,” he told a regular press conference. “We hope that China will come to share our view.”
Israel to ease West Bank movement restrictions

RAMALLAH: The Israeli military say it plans to further ease movement restrictions on West Bank Palestinians.
Israel has in recent months made it easier for Palestinians to travel in the West Bank. Monday”s announcement signaled another step in that direction. It comes as Israeli and Palestinian leaders are holding indirect peace negotiations through a U.S. mediator.
The military says it plans to open two West Bank roads to Palestinian motorists, remove 60 unmanned roadblocks and ease access of foreign tourists to the biblical city of Bethlehem.
Punjab, KP CNG stations closed for 24 hours
LAHORE: The CNG pumping stations have been closed for 24 hours in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw, Geo News reported Tuesday.
Under government program ‘Save Energy’, all CNG stations have been closed at 6am this morning for 24 hours.
It was said that this government step aimed at giving more saved CNG to the gas-run power stations.
The CNG stations were closed last week as well, which caused hardships for the owners of CNG-propelled vehicles. To save them the anguish, people kept refilling till late last night.
The disturbed people voiced concerns over this step aimed at saving energy.
People say the power load shedding could not be put to an end despite the implementation on the step taken up to end load shedding and save energy; instead, the problem of load shedding intensified, instead.
