Nato Must Stop Fleeing Taliban:Athar Abbas
RAWALPINDI PAKISTAN: Major General Athar Abbas, director general of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said that a cross-border flow into Afghanistan was hampering Pakistan’s campaign to crush the Taliban.
“We are at full stretch. I have to say that the border is a joint responsibility,” he said in a presentation to the Royal United Services Institute, a London think tank.
“Nato must stop the cross border flow.”
According to Maj Gen Abbas, there are now 821 Pakistan army checkpoints on the border, but just 112 Afghan army or Nato posts.
A senior official has said that al-Qaeda ” leaders are having great difficulty communicating and they have been denied freedom of movement.”
The official also claimed that factions within the Afghan Taliban had begun fighting the mainly Arab al-Qaeda operatives and their allies in recent weeks.

Pakistan News: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that Afghanistan should take steps to stop the cross border flow of arms. He ensured that militants in South Waziristan are on the run. The Federal Minister visited the Lady Reading hospital in Peshawar to condole the injured persons in the bomb blasts. Talking to media, he said that it is necessary to be united in these circumstances. Pak Army and countrymen foiled all the plans of terrorists. He said that the security forces are fighting against militants instead of any specific tribe. Rehman Malik said that Taliban are the enemies of Islam.
